Chapter 67: Terrible Tornado
Kaguya-sama: Poor Yukari-nee-sama. She'd barely surfaced before getting stabbed.
Crazy Diamond: Yukari-senpai in full shutdown mode. (manual smug face~)
Edward Newgate: Gurararara! Yukari-dono does despise being called old. The Admin roasts her about it so often she practically foams at the mouth.
Edward Newgate: Fortunately, this old man has no such peculiar hang-ups.
The Eternally Seventeen-Year-Old Maiden: …Kisama! Feeling young is a 'hang-up'?! No! This one doesn't merely FEEL young—this one IS truly only seventeen!
The Eternally Seventeen-Year-Old Maiden: This one stakes her character and her integrity on it!
Terrible Tornado: Really seventeen? There are actually seventeen-year-olds who'd use a username like that… You learn something new every day. Then again, a Dimensional Chat Group exists, so I guess nothing's strange anymore.
RawrSoFierce: New member, don't let her fool you. Her age has at least four digits.
The Eternally Seventeen-Year-Old Maiden: …Pfft.

Yukari, now in a state of full-blown meltdown, very nearly lost control of her power and destroyed her own house. Then again, looking around… she'd more or less already done that.
The floorboards and walls were covered in a dense web of cracks.
As if an earthquake had struck.
Ran Yakumo watched from the side, eyelid twitching.
She had no idea what had gotten into the Youkai Sage this time.
But she'd grown accustomed to it over these past few days. For reasons Ran couldn't fathom, her master went into a frenzy every few days. Ran had gone numb to it.
Maybe she really was ill? Should they call someone to take a look?
After all, Yukari-sama was getting on in years.
Perhaps… dementia?
Could youkai even get dementia?
Probably… maybe… possibly?
Yukari had no idea what Ran was thinking. Her attention wasn't on Ran at all.
Right now she was grinding her teeth.
Though, to be fair, she ground her teeth roughly once every few days…

The Eternally Seventeen-Year-Old Maiden: New member, don't listen to the Admin's nonsense. He's just engaging in his daily slander of this one. Yes, that's exactly what it is!
Terrible Tornado: Admin-dono? Admin… as in the owner of this Dimensional Chat Group?
RawrSoFierce: That's one way to think about it, sure.
Terrible Tornado: Someone who can create a chat group that bridges dimensions…
Terrible Tornado: That would make them stronger than any S-Class hero by orders of magnitude… An inconceivable ability. It's almost impossible to believe.
RawrSoFierce: I didn't make this group. As for why I'm the Admin—probably because I was the first one to join.
RawrSoFierce: Any of the veteran members can tell you that.
Kaguya-sama: Veteran member, passing through…
Edward Newgate: Veteran member, passing through…
The Eternally Seventeen-Year-Old Maiden: Veteran member, passing through…
The Little Wandering Planet: Veteran member, passing through…

Whether Ryū was the Dimensional Chat Group's creator was something the four veteran members—Yukari, Kaguya, Whitebeard, and the Wandering Planet—knew perfectly well.
But even setting aside the creator question, in the eyes of the old guard, Ryū was still the most mysterious figure in the group.
How could you be Admin without an air of mystery?
How could you become Admin without being powerful?
So in the hearts of Yukari and the rest—humans, youkai, and celestial body alike—even if Ryū wasn't the creator, he was probably not far off. Quite possibly an existence on the same level.

Terrible Tornado: I see. Sounds pretty impressive.
Kaguya-sama: The Dimensional Chat Group has all sorts of amazing features! New member, you should take a good look at the Group Announcement the Admin posted.
Kaguya-sama: It's that little red dot in the upper-right corner. Just tap on it.
Terrible Tornado: A little red dot? I think I do see one.
Terrible Tornado: Let me read through this Group Announcement first.
After sending that message, the new member went silent—lurking mode.
Probably actually reading the Group Announcement.
Perfectly normal.

A look of quiet wonder on his face, Ryū studied the new username.
He murmured to himself: "Terrible Tornado… The only person who'd pick that name is Tatsumaki from One-Punch Man. S-Class hero, Rank 2."
One-Punch Man—that glorious power-fantasy of a series—was something Ryū was very familiar with. He'd been hooked on it for a while. It wasn't exactly an old show, either.
He'd even read the original One-Punch Man webcomic.
Not the redrawn version.
The one with ONE's famously unhinged art style.
That delightfully cursed visual aesthetic… it was still seared into Ryū's memory. Truly unforgettable.
Terrible Tornado—real name Tatsumaki. S-Class Rank 2 hero. An esper.
Extremely powerful. She could use her psychic abilities to yank meteorites down from outer space.
That particular feat was anime-original, of course. Whether this Tatsumaki came from the anime version or the manga version…
Ryū had no way of knowing yet.
He recalled that Tatsumaki's hair was… green, right? An inexplicable hair color.
And she was twenty-eight years old, despite looking like a girl of twelve to fourteen. Petite in every sense of the word.
* * *
"In the current Dimensional Chat Group, Tatsumaki's combat power should rank pretty high. In the manga, she held off multiple Dragon-level monsters by herself—only losing because she let her guard down and got blindsided."
"And a Dragon-level monster is defined as: a threat capable of destroying multiple cities. Which means Tatsumaki's strength is probably… roughly on par with Whitebeard's? Hard to compare directly across series, but the bottom line is: very strong."
Ryū couldn't say with certainty how Tatsumaki's psychic powers would measure up against Whitebeard's quake abilities.
But one thing he could be sure of: Tatsumaki's physical body wasn't anywhere near Whitebeard's level.
After all, she wasn't a close-combat specialist.
Tatsumaki's strength lay in her devastating psychic powers.
In the anime's original storyline, the Ancient King—an enemy that not even a nuclear bomb could kill—had been crushed to death by a meteorite she'd dragged down from space.
Granted, that may have been an exploit of the Ancient King's specific weakness.
But regardless, it proved just how formidable Tatsumaki was.
She was also perpetually short and would almost certainly never break past 140 centimeters.
Then again, she was already twenty-eight in the source material. At whatever age she was in this timeline…
Her height was probably a permanent fixture.
"Didn't expect the new member to be Terrible Tornado of all people. I wonder if Saitama-sensei will show up someday. Now that would be fun."
