Chapter 259: Three Group Quests

The probability that this was a Qidian author's Saekano doujin work was high. This "Dr. Chen Fan" combined with the news coverage read as unmistakably Chinese in origin. Whether he was a transmigrator or reincarnator remained unclear.

What Ryū could roughly infer was that the man was probably on the side of good. Qidian's content review process had a reputation — anything with a dark-styled villainous protagonist tended to get taken down before it hit a hundred thousand words.

Not that it particularly mattered either way. Whether protagonist or antagonist, it had nothing to do with Ryū. A world's main character was confined to making waves in their own world. In that respect they were actually less useful than the mediocre reincarnators who at least got to stumble around across multiple settings.

The one concrete benefit of being a "legitimate" transmigrator or reincarnator was avoiding the Chat Group's blacklist. The alternative was not seeing tomorrow's sunrise.

Eriri had assessed the man as looking weaker than her on the surface. Even accounting for the possibility he hadn't gone all out in that billion-view video — he probably wasn't dramatically stronger than her.

In which case Eriri, as a member of the same Saekano doujin world, had nothing to worry about from the spiritual awakening.

Come to think of it, this doujin protagonist is basically the polar opposite of that "Mayuin Jing" situation a while back — one of them had an apocalypse manufacturing system and was clearly in the market for world annihilation. This Qidian protagonist seems to be leading a civilization's progress instead. What spiritual awakening brings to that world is probably on par with any of the industrial revolutions — or beyond it, since it's an entirely new framework for them.

Then the Chat Group fired off a notification.

A group quest had appeared.

Ryū clicked through. His eyes caught the words "Saekano" almost immediately.

He read more carefully.

[Group Quest: Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend has transitioned into Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend doujin world ID "0135" — but the transition generated irregularities. The void between dimensional planes harbors "Void Creatures," and 1,000 Void Beasts have now breached the Saekano (Doujin) world. The situation is critical.

Note: Each individual Void Creature is no weaker than Doflamingo of the One Piece world in his Devil Fruit Awakening state. Members of lower combat ability are strongly advised to exercise caution before participating.]

[Task 1: Minimize civilian casualties in the Saekano (Doujin) world.

Current population of this world: approximately 7.14 billion.

Casualties below 100 million → Reward: 30,000 Points Casualties below 200 million → Reward: 20,000 Points Casualties below 300 million → Reward: 10,000 Points

Participants: Unlimited Time Limit: None Reward: As above]

[Task 2: Eliminate all 1,000 Void Creatures attempting to consume the Saekano (Doujin) world.

Each complete Void Creature corpse yields an additional 1,000 Points bonus. Incomplete corpses are evaluated by condition, minimum 100 Points.

Participants: Unlimited Time Limit: None Reward: 30,000 Points]

[Task 3: The Void Creatures are targeting this world's "Spiritual Core" — the key nexus point of the spiritual awakening. Prevent the Spiritual Core from being consumed.

Crossing location automatically set to the Spiritual Core's position. No time spent searching required.

Participants: Unlimited Time Limit: None Reward: 30,000 Points]

Reading through all three linked quests, Ryū's expression didn't lighten at the sight of the reward figures. If anything it went slightly grave.

Because the rewards were far too generous.

Task 1 alone — keep casualties under one hundred million — was worth 30,000 Points. Task 2 was another 30,000 Points base, plus 1,000 additional Points per complete Void Creature corpse. That was more valuable than a Blackbeard benchmark per kill. Ten complete kills alone would be 10,000 Points. Task 3 added another 30,000 Points for protecting the Spiritual Core.

Tallying it out: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten-thousands, hundred-thousands.

Six figures. Minimum.

To put that in context: Ryū had the best sign-in luck in the group, with Kaguya occasionally beating him on rare days. His accumulated Points across nearly a year — total — had barely cracked a hundred thousand, or perhaps eighty to ninety thousand. And he'd spent most of it already.

What remained in his balance was being saved toward the 12,000 Points needed to push Life Return from its current level to Perfection.

Which means a perfect completion of this quest gives every participant a guaranteed six-figure Point reward. Even botching one task still leaves forty to fifty thousand minimum. Reward this large means difficulty unlike anything we've seen before.

That was why his expression was serious. Higher difficulty meant higher lethality risk. Weaker members participating could end up dead.

And the enemy benchmark was 1,000 Void Creatures at a minimum of Doflamingo's Awakened combat power.

Why has the calibration unit shifted from Blackbeard to Doflamingo all of a sudden?

Doflamingo had been defeated by Luffy's Gear Fourth in the original story, but that didn't diminish the fact that the man had been a Warlord capable of destroying an entire nation single-handed. And that was the floor for these opponents. The strongest ones could be sitting at Yonkō tier — or beyond.

No time limit. No participant cap.

Six-figure reward potential.

Hell-tier difficulty.

Ryū screenshotted all three quest notifications and posted them to the group chat, tagging everyone.

RawrSoFierce: @All Members — group quest just dropped. Difficulty is incomparable to anything before — at minimum ten times harder than previous quests. But the rewards are correspondingly enormous. Perfect completion would represent a qualitative leap for the entire Chat Group.

RawrSoFierce: Maximum potential reward: six figures in Points.

RawrSoFierce: @All Members!

RawrSoFierce: @All Members!

RawrSoFierce: Important things get three pings — this is a genuine warning. If you feel your strength isn't there yet, do not participate. I mean this kindly. One mistake and you are dead. There are too many enemies to protect anyone running behind the pack.

RawrSoFierce: Anyone who wants to join, sound off now.
