Inside a cramped twenty-square-meter rental apartment, Akio Tatsuma sat cross-legged on the floor, rubbing his chin as he stared at the list hovering in his mind.

There were simply too many options.
For a moment, the sheer number made his head spin. Choosing just one from such a massive selection wasn't easy.

Still smiling, Akio shook his head and spoke to the system in his mind.
"I choose the lightning attribute Quirk."
A voice immediately responded.
[Congratulations, Host.]
[You have obtained the right to select a secondary attribute Quirk.]
[Please choose an additional ability.]
Akio blinked.
"…What?"
He stared at the interface in disbelief.
A second Quirk?
Was this system actually this generous?
Most protagonists in stories complained about their systems being traps.
Meanwhile his system was giving him bonus abilities.
Akio didn't hesitate.
"I choose air manipulation."
Under the cover of his lightning ability, this hidden power could become a perfect trump card.
An invisible killing move.
After the selections were confirmed, a sudden surge of energy exploded inside his body.

The sound of thunder echoed faintly through his chest.
Then everything went silent.
For a brief moment, the world seemed to enter a strange vacuum.
Akio lived in a small government housing complex.
The apartment had already belonged to the previous owner of this body.
From the memories he inherited, the boy had no parents.
Which meant…
Akio was now an orphan.
This residential block existed specifically to house people living in poverty, and Akio was technically one of them.
Looking around at his messy room, he didn't feel discouraged.
