Chapter 16 - chapter 16

Trevor stepped off the Belmont family plane and, the moment his feet touched the runway, he noticed a car already waiting for him.

He grabbed his backpack with his most important belongings and placed the rest of his luggage in the trunk. Then he got into the car and waited while the driver hired by his grandfather took him to his new home.

During the ride, he took the opportunity to rest.

When the car finally stopped, he realized they were in front of a simple, single-story house with a small, well-kept lawn.

Trevor stepped out and helped the driver with the luggage.

"Thank you, Mr. Belmont. Ah, I almost forgot… this belongs to you."

The driver handed him a key before leaving.

Trevor took a deep breath, grabbed all the suitcases at once, and stepped forward. He unlocked the door and was greeted by the pleasant scent of a freshly cleaned house. He set the luggage down and noticed a note on the dining table.

He picked it up and began reading:

"I hired some people to clean the house before your arrival. From now on, it's your responsibility to take care of it. I'll cover the bills, but everything else comes out of your own money. As for food, Mr. Hans insists you stick to your diet.Send updates whenever you can.— Grandpa."

Trevor smiled and muttered out loud,

"Not a chance I'm sticking to that diet."

After that, he went to organize his room. He put his clothes away in the closet and, more importantly, set up and installed his PC. Luckily, the house already had internet.

When he was done, he sat on the bed and started thinking about his next steps.

He needed to get close to the key people in Teen Wolf's story.

He didn't remember every detail—just a few major events, certain villains, a handful of deaths. But he knew that if he stayed close to the right people, he could intervene when necessary.

As he reflected, he heard a knock at the door.

He glanced out the window and realized it was already night.

"Who could that be at this hour?" he murmured.

He left his room, walked to the front door, and opened it.

To his surprise, it was Allison's father.

The man smiled and extended his hand.

"Hello. I'm Chris Argent. I believe your grandfather mentioned me."

Trevor shook his hand firmly.

"Yes, he did. It's a pleasure, Mr. Argent. I'm Trevor."

Chris seemed slightly surprised by the strength of the handshake, but he kept smiling.

"Your grandfather asked me to keep an eye on you. Have you eaten yet?"

"No, sir. I was unpacking and kind of lost track of time."

"Perfect. Then come have dinner with us. We can get to know each other better, and I'll introduce you to the rest of the family."

"I don't want to impose—"

Chris laughed and gave Trevor two firm pats on the back.

"You won't be imposing, kid. Come on. My wife made a delicious lasagna."

Trevor chuckled and followed him.

To his surprise, the Argent house was only two houses down from his own. They talked about small things along the way until they reached the front door. As soon as Chris opened it, the smell of food made Trevor's stomach growl.

Chris took off his coat and called out,

"Allison, we've got company! Come downstairs for dinner!"

In the dining room, a tall woman with short dark red hair was placing food on the table. She smiled when she saw him.

"You must be Trevor. I'm Victoria."

"It's a pleasure, Mrs. Argent. And I have to say, just from the smell, the food is amazing."

"Thank you. Come, sit down."

Trevor had just taken his seat when another figure appeared in the doorway—a tall girl with dark curly hair, wearing a dress and boots.

She crossed her arms, amused.

"So you're the surprise my dad didn't want to tell me about?"

Trevor smiled slightly.

"I hope you liked the surprise."

She laughed.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Allison Argent."

"Trevor Belmont. The pleasure's mine."

Victoria served Trevor a plate.

"Let's eat before it gets cold."

As they began eating, Chris opened a beer and asked,

"You drink?"

"No, sir."

"Dad!" Allison scolded.

Chris laughed.

"Just testing him."

Victoria then asked,

"When do you start school, Trevor?"

"Tomorrow. My grandfather already arranged the transfer."

"That's good. Where were you studying before? Chris mentioned you came from Romania."

Trevor hesitated briefly.

"I was homeschooled. This will be my first time in a traditional school in a long while. I lived in Boston when I was younger, but later I moved to Romania to live with my grandfather."

"Interesting," Victoria said. "If you'd like, Allison can take you tomorrow. She can show you around."

Trevor glanced at Allison, slightly uncertain.

"Only if it's not a bother."

Allison gave him a small smile.

"It won't be. I know what it's like to be the new girl."

Trevor returned the smile.

"Then I'll be counting on you."

Dinner continued with light conversation and a few laughs. Afterward, Trevor said his goodbyes and walked back home, feeling both nervous and excited about his first day at school.

A new chapter was about to begin.
