Chapter 158 - "The Shattered Crown"

Chapter 156: The Shattered Crown

The High King stumbled backward, his iron-clad boots crunching against the once-pristine marble of the throne room, now scorched by the violet flames. For the first time in an eternity, his breathing was ragged. The crack in his chest plate wasn't just physical; it was a fracture in his very existence, a doorway through which his stolen power began to bleed out.

"This... this is impossible," the King hissed, his voice no longer a booming decree but a hollow rattle. "I am the eternal night! I am the void that swallows stars!"

The Alpha stepped forward, his eyes burning with a fusion of crimson resolve and starlight. He didn't rush. He didn't need to. The tide had turned, and the very air in the chamber seemed to bow before the union of his strength and the Omega's light.

"You were never the night," the Alpha said, his voice resonating like a mountain drum. "You were merely the shadow that feared the coming dawn. And the dawn has arrived."

The Omega stood at his side, her violet-fire eyes locking onto the King's weakening form. She felt the pulse of the world beneath her feet—a heartbeat restored by their sacrifice. With a gentle sweep of her hand, she channeled the last of the void's energy, folding it back upon itself.

The King's armor shattered completely, turning into harmless, drifting dust. As the dark metal fell away, the High King began to fade, his form dissolving into the dimming shadows he had so long commanded.

"You think this ends here?" the King's voice echoed, growing thinner, more desperate. "The darkness is not destroyed; it is only waiting for your light to falter."

"Then we will burn until the end of time," the Alpha replied, reaching out to clasp the Omega's hand.

With one final, brilliant surge of violet light, the chamber was engulfed. When the glow finally faded, the High King was gone, leaving behind only his crown, lying in the center of the floor—a hollow circle of cold, lifeless stone, now rendered powerless by the truth of their bond.

The silence that followed was heavy, not with the dread of the past, but with the quiet, overwhelming weight of a new beginning
