The skies started to darken as the clouds shifted overhead, the sound of lightning echoed above the mutated peak second tier beast.
When a beast's bloodline mutates, it's considered an affront to the heavens. A lightning tribulation would occur and if the beast isn't strong enough, they will turn to ash scattering like dust.
Now that this beast had fully mutated his bloodline, the heavens were angry.
The large Silverback Wolf had a crimson moon upon it's brow, and it's fur had turned black. It's very identity had become something different.
It's bloodline had mutated into the Crimson Moon Tiger.
The three elders noticed the skies darken and decided to attack during the tribulation.
Zhang Guowei laughed loudly,
"You damn beast, even the heavens cannot stand you. What makes you think you can stand up to us!"
The beast howled and started to walk towards them but paused.
The first lightning strike had come,
The beast roared at the sky as a purple lightning bolt descended and electrocuted the beast causing massive damage.
It's fur had lightning dancing across it like ripples and it's movements were frozen.
This was their moment, the three elders had mutually decided that they had to kill this beast.
For their clans to survive it was the only way. They had limited money, low cultivation, and powerful enemies that would kill them if they left the forest.
Wu Tianmo sat on a nearby rock watching the situation unfold, he wasn't the slightest bit fazed. In his travels, he had come across many beasts from tier one all the way to tier three.
If it wasn't for his clans movement technique he would have died an early death. Even these old geezers of the Liu, Chen, and Zhang clan couldn't catch him if he ran.
Only an elder in the core formation realm could catch him, but that's because they could fly.
He looked at the sky in awe, this was truly something rare. For a beast to mutate it's bloodline it must involve some rare plant or opportunity.
Wu Tianmo thought to himself, where could a beast get such an opportunity.
Then it hit him, the cave.
While the three patriarchs were battling the Crimson Moon Tiger Wu Tianmo decided to check out it's cave. Now left unguarded, a peak tier 2 beast must have collected some treasures!
Tianmo approached the cave cautiously as the sound of running water could be heard from within.
The cave was shallow and only extending a few hundred feet into the mountain.
There was crystals all over the walls, and a body of water so deep it's floor couldn't be seen.
The beast even had it's own spiritual plant garden, within it were precious flowers that had been plucked from the nearby mountain.
There were a few rare metals that emanated a strong aura, and piles of spirit stones that were incredibly pure.
This cave would fund the building of their new village, and then some.
It was then that Tianmo noticed something beautiful,
At the center of the water within the cave was a flower on top a pedestal, the flower had a white stem and red petals. The petals had a curve to them like individual little moons.
This flower drew him in, as he approached he noticed a nearby red skeleton gripping a bamboo scroll and a ring.
This caused Tianmo to stop,
"Did the wolf kill this man? Couldn't have... the pressure coming from that body is stronger than the wolf. He must have died long ago there is nothing left of him. I can't even fathom what realm he had been while alive, even this far away his skeleton gives of an oppression making it hard to breathe... Why is it red?"
Tianmo approached slowly and bowed slightly towards the skeleton,
"Sorry Senior, it seems you met your end here. I hope you have a better life after reincarnation."
He approached and grabbed the bamboo scroll, and the ring.
Tianmo couldn't contain his smile, he had been traveling for the last year barely getting by. If not for his families techniques he would have died in the jaws of a beast long ago.
Yet no matter how much he traveled, how many caves he explored, he had only found that silverback wolf pup. Now he had struck gold, while he couldn't take all the stuff because the patriarchs would get suspicious. There is no reason to tell them about the skeleton.
As he unraveled the scroll revealing the sigil of a red crimson crescent moon, the text below started to glow red as the scroll itself was shot into the glabella of Tianmo.
Tianmo fell backwards, completely knocked out and entered his mind space.
The mind space is a realm within a persons consciousness, it reflects the individual. Some have large grassy plains that are filled with worldly items, some are erupting volcanos that destroy everything in sight.
Tianmo's had taken the shape of a high mountain peak that was planted with a single tree the size of a small child. Above the tree within the night sky was a large, crimson moon.
A voice echoed out and a scroll imprinted it's text within his mind space like a brand onto skin. It was a cultivation technique, the cultivation technique of the crimson moon sect.
Tianmo didn't have the time to go over this technique right now, nor the history that was revealed with it, there was still another item that he acquired.
This was a storage ring, a very rare item among low level cultivators yet common among the mid and high tier.
The ring was inconspicuous, looking just like a normal wedding band. As he put it on it radiated a red aura and then dimmed.
Unfortunately for Tianmo, he was only a body reforging cultivator and couldn't access the storage within the ring.
He collected his thoughts and turned around, looking at the strange flower. According to the technique, he need this flower to begin cultivating the Crimson Moon Sect's cultivation technique.
The cave walls rattled and tiny rocks fell as the battle outside intensified, Tianmo firmed his resolve. He only had this moment to take the flower, if the geezers of the Liu, Chen, and Zhang families saw it they wouldn't let it go.
He sat quickly in the lotus position and grabbed the crimson moon flower eating it raw.
A warm feeling flowed down his throat and spread throughout his body. If he wanted, he could use this flower's potency to quicky advance in cultivation. However, this wasn't what the scroll intended.
The technique instructed him to draw the power to his mind, where he had entered prior with the scroll's assistance.
The warmth from his body was drawn towards his head and Tianmo's mind space started to undergo a monumental change.
The tree had changed it's form and fused with the flower.
Once a oak tree sapling had turned into a strong maple tree tree, it's petals were crimson red and the body of the tree was ashen gray.
It was truly spectacular, yet this feeling of aw didn't last.
His head began to burn as blood flowed from his eyes, ears and mouth. Yet he endured, this was the process the scroll spoke of.
The forceful opening of the Divine Sense.
The mind space and ones Divine Sense were intrinsically linked
The Divine Sense, which normally opened at the meridian opening realm, was being forced open by a body reforging realm expert. A level one expert at that...
The process, which normally would take place after the body was perfected was being underwent by a mortals body.
He grit his teeth and continued the refinement, red aura began to circulate around him gathering like mist.
Eventually, after an hour, the pain had ceased and his mind felt clear. his surroundings felt closer and his Divine Sense had been opened.
Within his mind space, what was once just a single mountain top had now expanded. A large grassy plain surrounded it extending a full mile!
For the first time in this worlds history, a mortal had opened their Divine Sense.
