Chapter 61 - Chapter 61: The Enraged Steve

The Enraged Steve

Because the procurement of heavy parts took a bit more time than initially expected, Arthur Sterling ended up busy until nearly five o'clock the next morning before finally finishing Charlie's complex modification commission.

After securely receiving the eight thousand US dollars in cold cash payment, he didn't waste any extra words with Charlie.

He quickly mounted his predecessor's heavily modified old motorcycle and returned directly to his quiet residence.

Then, after taking a scalding hot shower, Arthur didn't even bother to make himself a heavy breakfast.

Having absolutely not closed his eyes for over forty grueling hours, he fell instantly into a deep dreamland soon after his head hit the soft pillow.

However, what Arthur genuinely didn't know was that while he was peacefully entering his dreams, after a full, agonizing day of relentless searching, Steve, who had officially confirmed that his two massive safes containing almost his entire net worth were completely missing, had entirely fallen into a violent frenzy.

Smash!

A highly expensive Cloisonné Vase from the East was violently thrown by the enraged Steve, smashing completely to pieces onto the ancient, salvaged floor of his luxury villa.

That specific floor was old building material he had previously spent a huge, staggering sum of money to buy from a specialized contractor.

It was supposedly sourced directly from an ancient monastery in Old Europe with a rich history of over a thousand years.

Inside the sprawling villa, there was absolutely no shortage of expensive Eastern and Western artworks that looked very aged and cultured.

However, to put it brutally bluntly, Steve was exactly just a violent nouveau riche trying desperately to artificially appear cultured and refined.

Just like the ornate Cloisonné Vase he had just angrily smashed to sharp pieces, it was merely an imitation artwork of modern, mass-produced craftsmanship.

Moreover, looking critically at the painted patterns, it wasn't even an authentic product from the Xia Country, but a cheap product manufactured directly in Japan.

But these supposed treasures that Steve completely didn't logically understand before but arrogantly regarded as highly precious, now, with the devastating loss of those two safes that securely held almost the vast majority of his net worth, were being aggressively used by the angry Steve as simple tools to violently vent his fire, being thrown and smashed absolutely everywhere.

"Useless!"

"You are all completely useless!"

"So many heavily armed people!"

"Such tight, military-grade security!"

"You come and tell me right to my face that a few people could miraculously climb up from that sheer cliff and then sneak flawlessly into my villa."

"But two massive safes, things weighing several heavy tons combined."

"How exactly did they physically take the things away?"

"Come on, tell me!"

Steve had now completely, violently fallen into a state of absolute madness!

Ever since he was violently jolted awake by a sudden, terrifying palpitation in the early hours of yesterday morning, shortly after, the lethal traps he had meticulously set around the two safes were also aggressively triggered.

In less than a single, tense minute, Steve had rushed aggressively from the second floor directly down to the first floor of the villa.

As a direct result, although he clearly saw a thief who was tightly wrapped in tactical gear and whose face could absolutely not be clearly seen, and that agile thief immediately fled in a calculated panic exactly after Steve came charging downstairs, the two massive safes that completely disappeared along with the thief had absolutely no news to this very day.

Steve had also aggressively driven his Wrangler in violent pursuit of that fleeing thief for a period of time last night.

However, exactly before he even reached the muddy bottom of the mountain road, he paranoidly realized that the thief fleeing in a panic on a black motorcycle was highly likely just a deliberate bait from the highly organized theft team that had violently targeted him.

Steve immediately swung the heavy car around on the asphalt and returned straight to the fortified villa.

In the following thirty-plus grueling hours, they had aggressively searched almost every single inch inside and outside the sprawling villa grounds.

They even conducted a rigorous, militant search, literally digging three feet deep into the solid ground in some dense areas of the nearby mountains that absolutely did not belong to Steve's property.

But up until right now, let alone successfully finding the two heavy, multi-ton safes that had mysteriously, impossibly vanished into thin air, Steve and his heavily armed men, aside strictly from the discovery on the fifty-meter-high sheer cliff directly behind his villa, only found man-made steel climbing bolts and a heavy rappelling rope for a quick vertical escape.

They found absolutely no other physical traces of human activity.

Seeing that more than a full, agonizing day had already completely passed!

There absolutely wasn't a single, viable clue left at the villa!

The two heavily armed motorcyclists Steve sent aggressively out to successfully capture the thief alive were also easily, flawlessly shaken off by the unknown opponent's superb, high-speed driving skills on the open highway.

Absolutely no clues were found anywhere, and even right now, concerning exactly what held the absolute majority of his ill-gotten wealth, the two massive safes, which together with the pure gold bars inside weighed well over four tons, exactly how they had mysteriously, flawlessly disappeared from right under his nose, Steve, who still completely hadn't figured it out, was now completely, blindingly enraged.

His dark eyes were heavily bloodshot, and his aggressively distorted face was completely full of murderous ferocity.

He looked viciously at the trusted, heavily armed subordinates standing around him, each aggressively recruited at the massive cost of hundreds of thousands of US dollars per year.

At this exact moment, if he absolutely didn't still desperately need to use them for manpower, Steve would have aggressively wanted to pick up a loaded AK-47 directly from the rack.

Then he would violently aim the heavy gun right at these useless, pathetic fools and spray them frantically with lead, ruthlessly killing all these expensive good-for-nothings.

The tense group of heavily armed subordinates nervously looked at each other, absolutely none of them daring to speak a single word out loud.

They were ruthless outlaws aggressively recruited by Steve with massive, high salaries. Although they had only closely followed Steve for just over a year, they had already received many lucrative financial benefits.

So exactly unless they truly couldn't survive the abuse anymore, everyone could absolutely still accept being aggressively cursed at a few times to keep their paychecks.

"Boss, we have already incredibly carefully checked absolutely everything around the entire villa."

"We can be absolutely certain that, aside strictly from the sheer cliff side, there are absolutely no physical traces of any outsiders' activities."

After hesitating nervously for a tense while, a heavily tattooed minor leader simply couldn't help but answer the furious man.

Bang!

In the absolute next moment, he completely regretted opening his mouth.

Another highly expensive porcelain jar was violently smashed right toward his head.

Fortunately, he quickly dodged at the absolute critical moment and wasn't physically hit by the shattering jar.

"Useless! Then you confidently tell me right now, exactly how did they magically steal my heavy safes?"

"This!"

The frightened minor leader indeed completely couldn't answer the impossible question.

Seeing Steve looking violently at him with a murderous gaze that seemed completely ready to devour him alive, he swallowed hard in terror and then hesitantly replied, "Boss, could it absolutely be that they also secretly bought another luxury house somewhere near your villa?"

"And cleverly took absolute advantage of the violent chaos last night to quickly move them over there in the dark?"

This was clearly a desperate, fabricated answer meant completely to fool Steve and buy time, because they had heavily searched and rigorously checked absolutely everything seriously all day yesterday.

There absolutely wasn't a single, heavy trace of multi-ton objects being physically moved, and they had even illegally checked the digital traffic records of absolutely all nearby vehicles.

But the two heavy, massive safes, which had been so incredibly, logistically difficult to successfully move in originally, seemed perfectly to have vanished right into thin air.

But Steve was now completely beyond furious.

Along directly with it, his paranoid mind was absolutely no longer as sharp or calculating as before under the blinding influence of his raw rage.

Hearing this desperate excuse, he immediately said through violently gritted teeth, "A few of you, go and aggressively investigate all the luxury villas nearby. See exactly which ones were legally traded or bought in the last few months."

"No, heavily traded within the entire last year."

"I absolutely want to see the detailed property records as soon as humanly possible!"

"Yes!"

Another tense minor leader, completely unwilling to stay right here and be aggressively scolded or assaulted, immediately stepped quickly forward, accepted the massive task, and left the room rapidly with a few armed men.

Just as he thankfully left the villa, a hurried flurry of heavy footsteps was loudly heard approaching.

Soon after, one of Steve's technical subordinates rushed aggressively into the room with a massive look of victorious joy on his sweating face.

"Boss, we aggressively investigated all the available digital surveillance feeds at the nearby traffic intersections."

"We successfully found it! We actually found a highly suspicious target on tape!"
