The darkness inside the ruin suddenly turned into chaos.
Dozens of beasts charged toward Lyra and her friends.
These beasts were really fast their claws tearing through the stone floor like it was nothing.
Lyra shouted "Spread out!"
She ran forward her spear shining with light.
Then she swung her spear and SLASH!
One beasts head flew off away.
Rex did not hold back either.
Lightning flashed around him.
He told the others "Try to keep up!"
Then he punched a monster in the chest and the lightning fried it instantly CRACK!
Kael moved next energy flowing through his body.
He took a step forward. Then he struck, BOOM!
His fist hit a beast. Sent it crashing into the wall.
This time something felt different.
The deeper they went into the ruin the stronger the enemies became.
Aurora raised her hand calmly. Said "Ice Domain".
Frost covered the ground away and several beasts froze in place then they shattered.
The team worked together smoothly they would attack, defend and destroy.
Then the ground started shaking and all four of them stopped moving.
A deep old sound echoed from below ROOOOOOOOAR!!!
The whole ruin was. Dust was falling from the ceiling.
Lyras eyes got wide. She said "That's not a normal beast…".
Rex was grinning he said "Good".
But Auroras face turned serious she said "No that's a Dragon-class presence".
There was silence even Rex stopped smiling.
Kael felt it too a pressure that was heavy really old and really scary.
From the darkness a huge shape started to rise and two glowing golden eyes opened.
Then a gigantic creature came out it was a dragon with wings, scales and claws that looked like blades.
Its body was covered in black-gold scales that were shining faintly with energy.
Each time it breathed it released waves of power.
Lyra whispered "No way…".
Auroras voice was calm but serious she said "This is a Divine Dragon Guardian".
The dragon looked down at them like they were nothing but insects.
Then it spoke its voice was echoing inside their minds it said "Yes more intruders…".
Kaels heart was pounding fast he thought "It can talk…".
The dragon spread its wings. The pressure got even stronger right away.
The dragon said "You will die here".
Rex stepped forward anyway lightning flashed around him. He said "I'd like to see you try".
Lyra tried to stop him she said "REX—". It was too late.
Rex ran forward. Then he jumped and struck the dragons body, CRACK!
But nothing happened the dragon did not even move.
Rexs eyes got wide and he said "What—?".
The dragon slowly turned its head. Then it swiped its claw, BOOM!
Rex was sent flying across the ruin he crashed into a wall. He was coughing blood.
Lyra shouted "Rex!" and Kael clenched his fists he thought "This thing is on another level…".
Aurora stepped forward her aura. She said "Stay back I'll handle it".
Ice energy flashed around her. The temperature dropped right away.
Even the dragon paused slightly. It said "Oh?".
Aurora raised her hand. She said "Ice Divine Art—Frozen Heaven".
Massive ice spikes formed in the air. Then they launched toward the dragon, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The attacks hit the dragon directly. When the ice shattered the dragon was still standing and it was not hurt.
Auroras eyes got narrow. She said "…Impossible".
The dragon. It said "A human using divine power but still weak".
It opened its mouth and energy gathered Kael felt it. He shouted "MOVE!!".
A massive beam of destruction fired, BOOOOOOOM!!!
The whole ruin was shaking violently Kael barely managed to dodge.
Lyra protected Rex and Aurora blocked part of the attack with ice. Even she was pushed back.
Smoke filled the area Kael was coughing, trying to stand up his body. His energy was unstable.
But then something strange happened inside his chest a faint glow appeared and a deep voice echoed in his mind it said "…Not yet…".
Kael. He thought "What was that?".
The glow disappeared away like it was never there.
Kaels eyes got wide and he thought "Something is, inside me…".
The dragon stepped forward again. It said "You are weak die".
It raised its claw Kael clenched his fists blue energy flared again this time it was stronger, darker and more unstable.
He said "I'm not dying here" and he stepped forward.
Lyra shouted "Kael stop! You can't fight it alone!". Kael did not stop.
Because inside something had just awakened, even if only slightly.
And above the ruin the sky got dark like something ancient was watching.
