My experience with 'private rooms' in restaurants began and ended with large spaces meant to hold parties at hybrid fun center/pizza restaurants.
The room the hostess led us to looked like something out of a romance novel. A gorgeous circular table set in front of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline.
The room was filled with warm, flickering candlelight. There were three pillar candles of varying heights arranged around a delicate glass blown rose in a crystal vase. Free-standing candelabras held tall taper candles. Every candle looked freshly lit. Not one drip of melted wax in sight.
Two chairs sat on opposing sides of the table. Before both of them say beautiful place settings with gold flecked plateware and artisan silverware. On each plate there was a napkin folded into neat hearts.
