"Jacob?" Kay scrambled in his effort to escape Jacob's arms. His efforts landed him firmly in the muddy puddle in front of the sinks. I dropped to my knees to help him up. He kept his eyes down and the tips of his ears burned scarlet.
"We can't keep meeting like this, Blaire." Jacob offered a hand to each of us. I reluctantly accepted his assistance.
When he pulled use up I got a closer look at his face. His freckles, unlike mine, were evenly spread across his cheeks and nose. No errant dots covering his forehead or chin. There weren't chips in the black paint on his glasses, nor scratches on the lenses.
I stepped back and not so subtly eyed him from head to toe. He looked like one of the mannequins at the boutique. Cleanly creased, oversized dress pants tucked into stylish combat boots. A dignified french tuck on the gaudy school shirt. And a minimalist leather jacket to tie the look together.
"I'm Lee," I offered, smiling wide enough to hide my burning jealousy.
