"If I hadn't transmigrated, I definitely wouldn't have dared to enter a place like this."
Raiden Ei made a self-deprecating remark, took out a lamp shell to light the way, and jumped through the opening without hesitation.
"Thud."
Landing in the secret chamber, Raiden Ei saw the surroundings clearly with the light from the lamp shell: a narrow staircase extending downwards, less than 1.5 meters wide but nearly 3 meters high.
There was nothing around; dust covered every corner, and a lot of moss had grown on the walls on both sides.
It seemed like no one had been here for a long time. How long exactly? Raiden Ei didn't know.
She walked down the stairs toward the passage below, saying as she went, "This probably wasn't built by those bizarre-looking people, otherwise the passage wouldn't be this narrow."
After walking down for over ten meters, she exited the passage and suddenly entered a vast space, which was still pitch black without any light.
Raiden Ei's Observation Haki did not detect any life signs here, and she only sensed something at the center of the secret chamber: a Buddha statue stood there; the rest of the area was completely empty.
Since she already knew that the secret chamber only contained a Buddha statue in the center and was otherwise empty,
Raiden Ei naturally walked towards it immediately, feeling a bit excited, but she didn't forget to pay attention to her surroundings.
Her heels striking the stone-paved floor made a "tap tap tap" sound, creating quite a stir in the silent and gloomy secret chamber.
When Raiden Ei saw the silhouette of the massive Buddha statue from afar, she couldn't help but say, "Interesting. With such a huge Buddha statue, it definitely couldn't have come through that passage. So, was this statue moved in before the secret chamber was built?"
The Buddha statue was taller than three Raiden Eis. Standing on the ground, she only reached its waist.
The Buddha statue was in a cross-legged posture, holding its hands in front of its chest, eyes closed, its face full of solemnity, majesty, and compassion.
Most importantly, in the palms held up by its hands was a Devil Fruit, light blue fading to white, shaped like a bolt of lightning, as if the Buddha statue existed solely to set off this Devil Fruit.
Raiden Ei leaped directly from the ground onto the Buddha statue's wide palm. Her gaze was immediately drawn to the Devil Fruit.
Her mood was quite happy the moment she saw the Devil Fruit; the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up, revealing a long-absent smile.
"It really is here. I wasn't wrong."
Saying this, she picked up the Devil Fruit resting on the palm and examined it closely.
This Devil Fruit must have been here for a long time; even the Buddha statue was covered in dust, yet the fruit looked as if it had just been plucked from a tree, completely spotless.
Although she suspected this was the Goro Goro no Mi, suspicion was just suspicion; she still needed to confirm it first.
She put the Devil Fruit into the system backpack, then, with a thought, opened the system backpack to check.
(Devil Fruit 8000)
"Is 8000 points of energy the highest in the system?"
"Then the two Devil Fruits I obtained before were almost top-tier Devil Fruits?"
Raiden Ei took the Devil Fruit out of the backpack again. The fact that it could convert to 8000 energy in the system was enough to confirm it was the Goro Goro no Mi.
Coupled with her own guess, there was a 99% chance this Devil Fruit was the Goro Goro no Mi. If not, she would just have to accept the loss.
This fruit had been her first goal since she arrived in this world. She had gone through many things on her journey to the Sky Island. Now, she could finally try to restore her Elemental Power.
Raiden Ei no longer hesitated, picked up the Devil Fruit, and brought it to her lips, taking a bite.
"Crunch."
A strange taste flooded Raiden Ei's mouth the moment she bit down. Her expression immediately wrinkled; it was even worse than the food she cooked.
She suppressed the urge to spit out the Devil Fruit in her mouth and forcibly swallowed it.
"Ptooey, ptooey! So disgusting."
Raiden Ei quickly spat out the residual taste in her mouth and tossed the Devil Fruit in her hand aside, which showed just how awful the Devil Fruit tasted.
Standing on the Buddha statue's palm, Raiden Ei felt the changes happening inside her body while complaining, "Good thing I only needed to eat one bite, otherwise I really don't know how I would have managed to swallow the rest."
In her perception, the Devil Fruit was rapidly modifying her body, and a new power was being born within her.
"Is it done?"
After a while, Raiden Ei felt her body return to normal; she no longer felt it being transformed.
Raiden Ei instinctively raised one hand. Fine, purple lightning instantly appeared around her body, and the hand she raised transformed into a thick, purple lightning bolt.
"Zzzzzzt!"
The secret chamber, which had no light at all, was illuminated by the sky full of purple electric light, flickering on and off.
"Is this the Goro Goro no Mi!"
With a thought from Raiden Ei, the hand that had turned into lightning instantly returned to its original state, without even a tear in her sleeve. Using lightning felt as natural as moving her hands and feet.
"Using lightning feels like a bodily instinct, or perhaps I have become lightning itself."
After testing the newly acquired ability, Raiden Ei did not leave immediately. Instead, she opened the system panel with her consciousness, intending to see what changes had occurred.

"Can Devil Fruits also be upgraded?"
Raiden Ei pondered the mechanism behind this, gaining a further understanding of the system. Any ability within the body could be upgraded.
She immediately thought of Elemental Power: "Isn't Elemental Power an ability within the body?"
"It seems Elemental Power is energy, not an ability."
After realizing this, Raiden Ei sensed whether there was any Elemental Power in her body, but she found no sign of it appearing.
She said dejectedly, "Even after eating the Goro Goro no Mi, I can't restore my Elemental Power?"
