Chapter 63 - jealous

Chapter: The Jealousy of the Richest Man

(AUTHOR'S POV)

The morning after the smoke confession.

Everything felt lighter.

Jay had woken up in Keifer's arms.

They had talked.

Laughed.

Loved.

Normal.

Perfect.

Then work happened.

Jay had to go to ELVIOLN.

Important meetings.

Decisions.

CEO things.

Keifer had his own work.

But his mind wasn't on it.

His mind was on her.

Always on her.

So he decided.

He would visit her.

Surprise her.

Bring lunch.

Be a good husband.

What could go wrong?

Everything.

Absolutely everything.

---

ELVIOLN Corporation – Philippine Branch

Keifer walked in.

Lunch in hand.

Jay's favorite.

He knew her well.

The lobby was busy.

Employees recognized him immediately.

Whispers started.

"Mr. Watson!"

"The richest man!"

"Here to see Mrs. Watson!"

"So cute!"

He nodded.

Smiled.

Kept walking.

To the elevator.

To her floor.

To her.

---

The Executive Floor

The elevator doors opened.

He stepped out.

The floor was busy.

Assistants moving.

Meetings happening.

Normal.

He walked toward her office.

Then stopped.

Her door was open.

He could see inside.

See her.

At her desk.

Working.

Focused.

Beautiful.

His.

But—

She wasn't alone.

A man stood beside her.

Leaning over her desk.

Close.

Too close.

Talking.

Smiling.

Laughing.

Jay was smiling back.

Polite.

Professional.

But smiling.

The man touched her desk.

Leaned closer.

Said something.

She laughed.

Soft.

Easy.

Keifer's hand tightened on the lunch bag.

His jaw clenched.

His eyes narrowed.

Something stirred inside him.

Something primal.

Something possessive.

Something he couldn't control.

He walked forward.

Fast.

Determined.

Dangerous.

---

The Office

Jay looked up.

Saw him.

Her face lit up.

"Keifer!"

She stood.

"Hi! What are you—"

He didn't stop.

Didn't slow.

Walked straight to her.

Grabbed her.

Pulled her close.

And kissed her.

Not a soft kiss.

Not a sweet kiss.

A rough kiss.

Deep.

Possessive.

Claiming.

Right there.

In front of her desk.

In front of the male employee.

In front of everyone watching through the glass.

Jay gasped against his lips.

Then melted.

Kissed him back.

Because it was him.

Because she belonged to him.

Because she loved him.

When he finally pulled back—

She was breathless.

Eyes wide.

Cheeks flushed.

"Keifer— what—"

He looked at the male employee.

Cold.

Dangerous.

"Who are you?"

The man stammered.

"I— I'm from marketing—"

"We were just—"

"Discussing the quarterly—"

Keifer's voice.

Deadly calm.

"She's my wife."

The man nodded quickly.

"Of course, sir."

"I know—"

"I was just—"

"Leaving."

"Now."

He backed away.

Bowed.

Almost ran.

Out the door.

Past the staring employees.

Gone.

Jay stared at Keifer.

Processing.

Then—

She laughed.

Full laugh.

Head back.

Tears forming.

Keifer blinked.

"What?"

She grabbed his shirt.

Pulled him closer.

"You— you JEALOUS idiot!"

He frowned.

"I'm not—"

"YOU ARE!"

"You just kissed me like a caveman!"

"In front of everyone!"

"Because a man was TALKING to me!"

He opened his mouth.

Closed it.

Opened it again.

"He was too close."

"HE WAS WORKING."

"Too friendly."

"HE WAS BEING POLITE."

"Too smiley."

"THAT'S HIS FACE."

Keifer crossed his arms.

Didn't help his case.

Jay laughed harder.

Grabbed his face.

"My jealous husband."

"My ridiculous husband."

"My idiot."

He pouted.

Slightly.

"I'm not jealous."

"Liar."

"I'm PROTECTIVE."

"Same thing."

"Different."

"How?"

"Jealous is insecure."

"Protective is caring."

She raised an eyebrow.

"And you were feeling... caring?"

He hesitated.

"...Maybe a little jealous."

She grinned.

"A LITTLE?"

"Fine."

"A lot."

"Very jealous."

"Happy?"

She kissed him.

Soft.

Sweet.

"Very happy."

"But also—"

"You're paying for my employees' therapy."

He blinked.

"What?"

"They all just watched their CEO get kissed like a romance novel."

"Half of them probably have trauma."

"The other half are taking notes."

He laughed.

Pulled her closer.

"Worth it."

She hit his chest.

"No power."

---

The Aftermath – Outside Her Office

The employees were losing it.

Whispers flying.

"He just KISSED her!"

"In front of everyone!"

"Like a DRAMA!"

"Like a MOVIE!"

"That was HOT!"

"That was TERRIFYING!"

"That was BOTH!"

"Marketing guy almost DIED!"

"His face!"

"I'M TAKING NOTES!"

"My future husband needs to do THIS!"

Someone gasped.

"Mrs. Watson is LAUGHING!"

"They're so CUTE!"

"JEALOUS KEIFER!"

"BEST DAY EVER!"

A woman clutched her chest.

"I need a husband like that."

Another nodded.

"We all do."

A man muttered.

"I need to be less scary."

They laughed.

Because this—

This was entertainment.

This was love.

This was them.

---

Inside the Office – Calm Down

Jay finally stopped laughing.

Leaned against her desk.

Keifer in front of her.

Hands on her waist.

"So."

He looked at her.

"So."

"You know that was insane, right?"

"Yes."

"Everyone saw."

"Yes."

"The marketing guy might quit."

"Good."

"KEIFER."

He shrugged.

"He was too close."

"He was WORKING."

"Didn't like it."

She shook her head.

But she was smiling.

"You're impossible."

He grinned.

"Your impossible."

She pulled him closer.

Kissed him.

Slow this time.

Sweet.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

"But if you do that again—"

"Yes?"

"Make sure I'm wearing better lipstick."

He laughed.

"Noted."

---

The Walk Out

They walked out together.

Hand in hand.

Past the employees.

Past the whispers.

Past the stares.

Jay was calm.

Regal.

The CEO.

Keifer was smug.

Satisfied.

The husband.

An employee whispered.

Too loud.

"They're GOALS."

Jay glanced at her.

Raised an eyebrow.

The employee turned red.

Jay smiled.

Small.

Warm.

"Thank you."

The employee almost fainted.

They walked to the elevator.

Inside.

Alone.

Jay hit his chest.

"You're paying them all bonuses."

He raised an eyebrow.

"For what?"

"For the show."

He laughed.

Pulled her close.

"Fine."

"But worth it."

She leaned against him.

"Was it?"

He kissed her head.

"Seeing you smile?"

"Laugh?"

"Happy?"

"Always worth it."

She softened.

"My hubby."

"My wifey."

"Jealous and all."

"Always and all."

---

That Night – Home

They were in their room.

Jay in his shirt.

Keifer beside her.

She looked at him.

"Hey."

"Yeah?"

"Today was—"

"Insane?"

"Yes."

"But also—"

"Kinda hot?"

He grinned.

"Kinda?"

She hit him.

"Don't push it."

He pulled her closer.

"Love you, wifey."

"Love you too, hubby."

"Even when you're a caveman."

"Especially then."

She laughed.

Snuggled closer.

"Good."

"Because you're my caveman."

He kissed her head.

"Your caveman."

"Forever?"

"Forever."
