Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Art of the Deal and the "Good Big Sister"

The steaming pork bone broth bubbled in a giant iron pot, emitting a rich, domineering fatty aroma mixed with the pungent scent of chopped green onions and minced garlic. It was the kind of smell that triggered a ninja's most primal appetite after a long day of avoiding creditors.

Uchiha Tsukiko sat on a slightly greasy long wooden bench, her feet dangling in mid-air as they couldn't quite reach the ground. With a flourish that would make a Daimyo blush, she slammed a thick stack of banknotes onto the oil-stained table, making the chopstick container jump.

"Boss! Five bowls of Deluxe Chashu Ramen! Extra eggs, extra meat, and extra Narutomaki! And two carafes of your finest sake—the top-shelf stuff!"

The ramen stall owner, a bald man with eyes like saucers, brandished his strainer like a fire wheel. "Coming right up, little guest! A feast fit for a Hokage!"

Tsunade sat opposite Tsukiko, her amber eyes fixed intently on this seemingly harmless little girl. She held her chopsticks but ignored the pickled radishes. Instead, she rested her chin on one hand, her tone lazy yet tinged with the lethality of a Sannin: "Brat, money is a good thing, but sometimes... you have the life to take it but not the life to spend it. Tell me, whose kid are you really? Uchiha? Or a spy for the village elders?"

Tsukiko's black hair peeked from the edge of her baseball cap. Despite her dorky behavior, that distinct, cold temperament unique to the Uchiha Clan couldn't escape a Master's eyes.

"Oh my, Big Sister, you're sharper than a kunai." Tsukiko smiled and removed her cap.

She tilted her head up, and her pitch-black pupils instantly transformed into the crimson Three-Tomoe Sharingan, rotating slowly under the dim yellow light. It was eerie, beautiful, and a clear declaration of power.

"Uchiha Tsukiko, student of Minato Namikaze, greets Lady Tsunade."

Pfft—

Shizune, who had just taken a sip of tea, spat it out. She barely managed to turn her head in time to save the table from a tea-flavored bath.

"Uchiha? Minato's apprentice?" Tsunade's eyes flickered. Her killing intent softened, replaced by a complex mix of nostalgia and frustration. "That kid Minato... he actually took an Uchiha brat as a student? It seems those old fogies in Konoha haven't driven him completely crazy yet."

She looked at the Sharingan, gave a light snort, and downed a cup of sake in one go. "So? Why is an Uchiha genius, instead of running D-rank missions for the Yellow Flash, coming to this foul street to find a washed-up gambler like me? And bringing... so much bribe money."

"Because finding you is more interesting than catching runaway cats," Tsukiko propped up her chin, her eyes returning to their innocent black state. "Besides... someone told me that while your gambling luck is bottom-tier, your medical skills are the absolute best. I have a friend who isn't feeling well, and I'd like to invite you out of retirement."

"Not going," Tsunade refused without hesitation. "I'm retired. I don't save people; I only lose money."

"Even if it's to pay off the 'Slug Princess' debts?" Tsukiko pulled a long list of IOUs out of her pocket—the very ones she had swiped from the casino owner during the earlier chaos. "This month alone... you owe seventeen casinos about fifty million Ryo. Not to mention the repair costs for the tables you've smashed."

Tsunade's face darkened. She snatched the list and crumpled it into a ball. "I borrowed that money with my own skill! Why should I pay it back?!"

"Exactly! Borrowed with skill," Tsukiko agreed, pushing the stack of cash toward Tsunade. "What if I cleared all your debts today? And every month, I provide you with a twenty million Ryo 'Gambling Fund'?"

The silence was deafening. Even Tonton the pig seemed to hold its breath. Twenty million Ryo... every month? Even with Tsunade's legendary bad luck, that was enough to keep her in the game forever.

"What do you want?" Tsunade's tone softened significantly. She leaned forward, the smell of sake and desperation mingling. "I don't believe in free lunches, especially from an Uchiha."

"It's simple. I've established a small organization dedicated to world peace. We need a Medical Advisor. No annoying elders, no village politics—just good food, hot springs, and a bunch of powerful idiots who are disappointed in the world but haven't given up yet."

Tsunade stared at Tsukiko's stuffed face as the girl chewed on chashu. A crack appeared in her hardened defenses. No intrigue? No village elders?

"Brat, that's a fairy tale." Tsunade sneered, but her hand naturally reached out to grab a marinated egg from the 'bribe' pile.

"If it's a fairy tale, come and see for yourself," Tsukiko smiled like a fox. "You're being hunted by creditors anyway. Why not lie low with me? If you hate it, you can leave. Who could stop the great Tsunade?"

Tsunade sighed, downing the rest of the bottle. "Fine. But get this straight: if you lie to me, I'll gouge out those Sharingan and use them as lightbulbs!"

"Deal!" Tsukiko cheered. Shizune, watching her Lady being sold for noodles and cash, shed literal tears for their lost integrity.

The Night at the Inn: The "Shuraba" Tension

Later that night, the dim yellow light of the inn created a thick, ambiguous atmosphere. Tsunade lay sprawled on the futon, her green coat tossed aside. Her gray undershirt was tight, rising and falling with her breath in a way that made Tsukiko's throat feel dry.

Tsukiko sat cross-legged nearby, her eyes locked onto the "scenery." She marveled inwardly—seeing the legendary Sannin's beauty in person was a visual impact ten thousand times stronger than any history book.

If I bring her back now... Tsukiko imagined a vision of Konan on the left with paper shuriken and Tsunade on the right with a monstrous fist. She shuddered. The "Great Battlefield of Lovers" was a war she wasn't ready for yet. She needed to win Tsunade over completely first.

"Brat, you've been staring at my chest for ten minutes. Want some milk?" Tsunade opened one eye, her drunken gaze mocking.

Most would die of shame, but Tsukiko's skin was thicker than a Susanoo. "I do," she said, crawling over like a kitten until she was inches from Tsunade's face. "Sister Tsunade is so beautiful, who wouldn't want to get close?"

Tsunade froze. She didn't expect such a direct strike. Before she could push her away, Tsukiko grabbed her wrist and began applying pressure to her shoulders.

"Your shoulders are stiff. Stressed from losing? Let this Uchiha genius give you a massage. It's free."

The warmth of Tsukiko's chakra-infused fingers began to melt Tsunade's tension. "Hmph... a little to the left... yes, there."

Tsukiko worked expertly, her mind racing. I have to raise her favorability! I need to be able to hug her without being sent flying through a wall. "Sister Tsunade," Tsukiko whispered, her breath brushing the Sannin's ear. "Since we're partners, be honest... do you really never want to see Konoha again?"

Tsunade's body stiffened. "Shut up. That's a place only the dead miss."

"Fine, fine. Let's just stay here on Tanzaku Street for a few days then. I'll treat you to the best sake and hot spring buns until you're glowing with health." Tsukiko was shamelessly stalling. She needed time to wrap Tsunade around her finger before the "surprise" meeting with Konan.

"Hmph. As long as you're paying." Tsunade relaxed, a tiny smile touching her lips.

In the corner, Shizune watched with growing dread. This little Uchiha girl wasn't just a student; she was a world-class abductor. As the night wore on, Tsukiko's hands moved with practiced grace. When Shizune was finally sent out to buy more sake, the room grew even warmer. Tsukiko's fingers probed the softer muscles of Tsunade's legs, using medical chakra to soothe the Sannin's weary body.

"Brat," Tsunade muttered, eyes closed. "Are your hands... crossing a line?"

"I'm just stimulating the acupoints for liver recovery," Tsukiko lied through her teeth, her fingers rubbing the elastic skin. "Tell me... if we live together, and I massage you every day and pay your debts... would you be willing to like me just a little bit?"

Tsunade opened her amber eyes, looking at the girl who was firmly choosing her, over and over again. She poked Tsukiko's forehead hard. "Wait until you're taller than me, you shorty."

Tsukiko didn't flinch. She grabbed the finger and kissed it. "I'll grow! And I have a special 'getting bigger' technique, want to see?"

"Get out!" Tsunade laughed, the first genuine sound of joy she'd made in years.

Uchiha Tsukiko had officially landed the legendary healer. Now, she just had to survive the journey back to the Land of Rain.
