The kiss grew so intense that I was completely devouring Alaric's lips, losing myself in the friction and the heat of his mouth. I felt a warm, thick liquid stream down my forearm, and I knew without looking that it was my blood from the split skin on my wrists, but I truly didn't care.
The metallic smell didn't bother me. All I wanted was to claim Alaric right there against the marble sink, to consume him entirely and make him mine, but then he suddenly brought his hands up against my chest and forcefully pushed me away.
"Enough, Nico," Alaric said, his chest heaving as he panted heavily for breath. He kept one hand raised between us like a physical shield to stop me from moving closer to him again.
