Sarah sighed and took a deep breath when all her memories came back.
She looked down at her nightwear and sighed, not that Sarah don't fancy the Burgundy color, Martins never allow her to wear a brightly colored outfit not even at home, he would always yell at her and say " Pull it off I don't want you attracting the attention of other men,"
So Sarah goes about wearing black and grey clothing like a woman in a funeral parlor.
Sarah stood up and looked through the window, it was drizzling lightly, so that flower hedge and the dark blue cobblestone was shiny with moisture. She sighed and thought about her early days with Martin, after her father died she thought she had found a replacement to him, she thought she found a friend and a lover later. She sighed again and looked back when she heard a soft knock on the door.
When she opened the door she saw a young person with slide-back short hair, wearing a crisp white shirt with a bowtie over a long plain black trouser. From looking at this person Sarah couldn't seem to discern whether this person is a man or a woman.
Sarah stared at the person standing at the door.
For a moment she was confused.
The figure was slim, almost delicate, but their posture was straight and confident.
Short dark hair was slicked neatly backward. Their crisp white shirt and black bowtie made them look like a perfectly polished hotel attendant.
Yet their face carried a strange androgynous beauty.
Sarah blinked.
"Good morning, Miss Arcadia."
The voice was soft but firm.
Sarah tilted her head.
"Are you… the butler?"
The person smiled faintly.
"My name is Adrian. I assist Mr. Monday with household matters."
Assist?
Sarah frowned slightly.
That sounded more important than a normal servant.
Adrian held out a silver tray.
"Mr. Monday asked me to check if you were awake. Breakfast has been prepared."
Sarah hesitated.
Her pride told her to refuse, but her stomach betrayed her again.
A loud growl echoed in the quiet hallway.
Adrian raised an eyebrow politely.
Sarah coughed awkwardly.
"…Fine."
Adrian stepped aside.
"If you would like to join Mr. Monday downstairs."
Sarah froze.
"Sebastian is here?"
Adrian looked slightly surprised.
"Of course."
Sarah swallowed.
Why was he still here?
She thought a man like Sebastian Monday would already be running ten companies before sunrise.
Adrian added calmly,
"Mr. Monday canceled his entire morning schedule."
Sarah's heart skipped.
"Why?"
Adrian's lips curved slightly.
"He said he had something more important to deal with."
Sarah suddenly had a bad feeling, a very bad feeling.
Adrian gestured toward the staircase.
"After you, Miss Arcadia."
Sarah slowly stepped out of the room.
As she followed Adrian down the corridor, she couldn't shake the feeling that her life had just entered a completely different world.
And at the center of it…
It was Sebastian Monday.
When Sarah came down for breakfast, Sebastian was already sitting down o
In the dining area, wearing a charcoal grey shirt a white napkin was securely loosely around his neck.
He was rocking a cream ceramic cup filled with hit beverages slowly to and fro in his right hand while an expensive looking golden watch glistened on his right hand. His eyes studied her intently as she approached the dining table
" Are you going to eat or will you starve to death grieving over your ex boyfriend?" He said sharply.
Sarah glared at him. She took a chair that is farthest away from him and sat on it. On the table were a big jug of warm milk, steaming cups of chocolate drink, omelette, pancakes, canned seafood, banana bread and many others.
The aroma wafted through the air, immediately Sarah's nostril inhaled and her stomach reacted appropriately.
But there was a problem, there was no food placed in front of Sarah instead a plate of toasted bread, a hot glass of milk tea and a jar of cow milk was placed in front of the chair closest to Sebastian. So all Sarah had to do was to reduce her pride, stand up and sit in the chair were food it's placed even if it means staring straight into Sebastiain brown eyes while gulping down her meal. And she did just that.
" So what are you going to do now,"they are now sitting face to face, Sarah was trying so hard not to look up from her food while Sebastian is staring straight into her soul.
She cleared her throat and said
" First of all I want to thank you from saving my from a great tragedy, secondly I don't want to be a burden to you anymore, I am going to sort myself on from now." Sebastian stared daggers at her
"What makes you think you are a burden to me," his voice was now like a low growl and there is a hint of anger in his voice.
Sarah stopped chewing, she was taken aback by the sudden display of emotion.
" I am not some damsel in distress, I can still hold my own forte,"
Sarah is not really confident of her capability but she knew that accepting Sebastian Monday's help mean she would not be able to finish repaying the debt till the world end, oweing such a man it's like signing away your freedom.
Sebastian scowled at her, "I am not saying you are weak, but what you are dealing is far more complicated than it seem, Martin had noticed that you now know an inkling of the Ydtruth and he would not let you be,"
Sarah took a deep breath, "So what would you suggest I do?"
"Lie low for now and listen to me, martins would start aggressively searching for you, when he finds out that his men did not succeed," Sarah swallowed hard, she have not thought of it like that, but what Sebastian said made sense.
"So what will I be doing while I wait?" Sarah it's not the type of girl to sit around doing nothing.
"Actually I have something that you will help me with," his eyes ran over her taking in every inches of,"
"First we are going to fix you"
Sarah blinked, " excuse me? Fix me? What it's wrong with me,"
Sebastian chuckled before he continued " Martin has spend years trying to make you invisible, I want to turn you into & a woman no man can see Ignore including Martin."
He leaned back and sipped the last drop of his tea, "also I am going to play a very dangerous game with Sebastian and I need you to be an accomplice,"
