The ride to the golf course lasted barely two minutes.
And yet, somehow, it felt longer because it was excruciatingly boring.
The silence inside the car was thick. Heavy. Almost suffocating.
Sarah sat by the window, her gaze fixed outside, watching the blur of trees and open road. She could feel him beside her without even looking—Sebastian's presence was impossible to ignore. It pressed in on her from every angle, quiet but intense.
Neither of them spoke.
Not after last night.
Not after this morning.
There were too many unfinished things hanging between them. Too many words unsaid. Too many touches that had almost meant something more.
So they sat there. Still. Careful.
And when the car finally came to a stop, Sarah exhaled softly, like she had been holding her breath the entire time.
The golf course stretched before them like a painting.
