As Tanjiro kept thinking, he suddenly froze.
Xia Feng's sword path… felt somewhat similar to the Kagura dance his father had once performed!
The Hinokami Kagura!
The more he thought about it, the more shocked Tanjiro became.
He carefully recalled the entire Hinokami Kagura his father had once shown him.
That dance…
Could actually form a complete sword style!
And its power was tremendous!
If he could properly organize that sword technique, it might not even be weaker than Water Breathing!
Who exactly had his father been?
Why did he possess such a powerful sword technique?
Thinking of this, Tanjiro couldn't help looking toward Xia Feng.
"Mr. Xia Feng, when I watched your sword earlier, it reminded me of a Kagura dance my father once taught me…"
Xia Feng nodded.
Sure enough, Sun Breathing and Hinokami Kagura were closely related.
Tanjiro cautiously asked,
"Mr. Xia Feng… how did you know I might learn something from watching your swordsmanship? Did you know my father?"
Xia Feng chuckled.
"How could that be? Do I look that old to you?"
"I only told you to watch carefully because my intuition said you had some sort of connection to this sword style. I just wanted you to feel it for yourself."
Hearing this, Urokodaki looked slightly surprised.
Did Xia Feng actually possess such a strange ability?
Xia Feng sheathed his Nichirin Blade and said to Tanjiro,
"When you have time, sort through what you learned today. We can spar again sometime in the future."
Xia Feng knew Tanjiro's potential very well.
He might be weak right now.
But before long, he would become a genuine Hashira-level fighter.
He absolutely deserved the word spar.
A faint blush appeared on Tanjiro's face. He hadn't expected Xia Feng to value him so highly, even suggesting they spar again in the future.
"Yes! I'll work hard!" Tanjiro said loudly.
After breakfast, Xia Feng took Kanao and found a place that wouldn't disturb Urokodaki and Tanjiro.
Using sparring as a method, he taught Kanao several improvements he had just developed for Flower Breathing.
Xia Feng taught with great focus.
Kanao learned with even greater focus.
For her, simply being with Xia Feng was already a happy moment.
Being able to train swordsmanship together at the same time—
That was double happiness.
(Anyone who thought of certain tragic romance memes during that sentence deserves to be dragged out and beaten.)
In this state, Kanao's learning speed was extremely fast.
Before long, she had fully grasped what Xia Feng was trying to teach.
Because of this, she felt even more amazed.
Flower Breathing was already a long-established breathing style.
After generations of improvements, its completeness was no worse than the five fundamental breathing styles.
Yet Xia Feng could still improve it further.
Just what kind of talent was this?
While she was thinking about it, she suddenly noticed Xia Feng looking toward the side.
"Mount Sagiri is quite lively today," Xia Feng said with surprise.
In the direction he was looking, a figure slowly approached.
It was a young man wearing the Demon Slayer Corps uniform, with a haori draped over it.
The haori had two different patterns.
The left side was yellow-green with a geometric pattern.
The right side was a plain dark red.
His expression was serious and calm.
Even though it was their first meeting, such a distinctive appearance made him instantly recognizable.
The Water Hashira — Giyu Tomioka!
When Xia Feng first heard his name, he had mistakenly thought it was Togashi Giyu…
Seeing Xia Feng, Giyu looked slightly puzzled.
"Excuse me… who are you two?"
Xia Feng sheathed his Nichirin Blade.
"My name is Xia Feng. I'm medical staff from the Butterfly Estate, here on Mount Sagiri to perform physical examinations for the candidates participating in this year's Final Selection."
"This is Kanao Tsuyuri, also from the Butterfly Estate."
Hearing Xia Feng's name, Giyu's pupils shrank.
"Xia Feng?"
"The Special Advisor?"
He was quite shocked. He hadn't expected to meet Xia Feng so soon after receiving news about him.
Then the corner of his eye twitched.
Wait a second…
What did this guy just introduce himself as?
Medical staff?
What the hell kind of introduction is that?!
You're a Hashira-level executive, and you introduce yourself as a medic?!
What kind of nonsense is that?!
Giyu's lips twitched slightly.
He really wanted to complain.
But in the end… he said nothing.
Complaining was extremely difficult for someone with his personality.
After several seconds of silence, he finally spoke.
"I am Giyu Tomioka."
Then the air fell silent again.
Xia Feng clicked his tongue.
He had known what kind of personality Giyu had beforehand.
But meeting him in person…
Was still impressive.
This man had truly maxed out the awkward silence talent tree.
Just as Xia Feng was about to casually start a conversation—
Giyu suddenly spoke.
"…Have you met Tanjiro?"
Xia Feng nodded.
"Yes."
A trace of hesitation appeared on Giyu's face before he asked again.
"Besides him and Mr. Urokodaki… did you see anyone else?"
Hearing that, Xia Feng's lips curled upward.
"You mean Nezuko?"
Giyu paused slightly.
"So you discovered her after all. Well, that makes sense. Someone capable of fighting Sanemi Shinazugawa would naturally be able to detect a demon."
He frowned slightly, as if struggling internally before finally speaking.
"Every Special Advisor in history has been an exceptionally talented person. So you must understand more than I do."
"I want to ask… what do you think about Nezuko?"
When he asked this, his expression looked somewhat lost.
It was clear he had wrestled with this question many times.
Xia Feng found it rather interesting.
So Giyu had been troubled by this all along?
But thinking about it, that made sense.
Almost every member of the Demon Slayer Corps had family killed by demons.
Not struggling with such a question would be strange.
But…
Asking others about something like this was pointless.
If he truly wanted an answer, he should ask himself.
Thinking this, Xia Feng suddenly felt a mischievous idea appear in his mind.
He looked at Giyu and slowly said:
"It was just a demon."
"I already killed it."
Giyu's eyes widened instantly.
His gaze toward Xia Feng filled with shock.
"You… what did you say?"
Xia Feng shrugged.
"I said I killed the demon. What's wrong with that?"
Giyu looked incredulous.
"How could you do that?! Didn't Tanjiro react?! Didn't Master react?!"
Xia Feng chuckled.
"One old man and one kid. They couldn't stop me."
"They're still lying inside the house right now."
What he said wasn't technically wrong.
He and Kanao had been outside for quite some time.
Urokodaki was probably taking a midday nap.
As for Tanjiro, he had likely exhausted himself during training and was resting.
Both of them were indeed lying down…
Giyu's expression turned extremely dark.
"You're being too arbitrary. Did you never consider that Nezuko might be a demon who causes no harm?!"
Xia Feng laughed lightly.
"Who has time to think about that?"
Giyu took a deep breath.
"You've become twisted."
His expression turned cold as he drew his Nichirin Blade.
"Master Ubuyashiki must have made a mistake to allow someone like you to hold such a position."
