Adam
We were in public, and with the amount of bodyguards she brought with her, the last thing I wanted to do was spend time talking to her for so long.
But upon hearing that there was something on Carmen, of course I had to sit down as I settled on the bench, placing the dog between us as I fed him snacks to keep him obedient.
It wasn't my dog, but it was useful for the duration of the conversation as I petted the dog while speaking to Vanessa with a smile on my face.
"What evidence?" I asked her, only for her to shake her head as her gaze was fixed on the dog too, petting its fur.
"Can you help me leave and take me somewhere safe? My mother too!" she asked, and of course I instantly nodded my head.
Doing such a thing was easy, and if I no longer needed her, then there was no reason for her to stay.
"I can! You should trust me!" I responded, meeting her gaze as silence settled between us for a moment before she finally pushed her hand into her pocket and pulled out something.
