‎Day 1 – Training Grounds, 5:00 AM

‎The sun wasn't even up yet.

‎Maki was already there when Shinra arrived. Standing in the middle of the training ground, eyes focused, wooden sword in hand.

‎"You're early."

‎"You said 5:00. It's 4:58." She didn't look at him. "I'm not late."

‎"Didn't say you were."

‎Shinra walked over. Rolled his shoulders. His EMS was inactive, didn't need it for this. Just hands and technique.

‎"Alright. Let's see where you're at."

‎Maki moved.

‎She came at him with a combination, punch, kick, sword slash. Not full speed, but fast enough. Shinra dodged around it, redirected the sword, tapped her shoulder.

‎"You're still tensing up on the redirection. Relax your arm."

‎"I am relaxed."

‎"No you're not. Your bicep is flexed. You're trying to force the redirect instead of letting it happen."

‎Maki's jaw tightened. But she nodded.

‎"Again."

‎They went for two hours. (A/N: yeh you heard it... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). )

‎By the end, Maki could consistently redirect his basic attacks. Not perfectly. But consistently.

‎"Better," Shinra said. "Tomorrow we add speed."

‎Maki wiped sweat from her forehead. Didn't smile. But her eyes were determined.

‎"Tomorrow."

‎---

‎Day 2 – 5:00 AM

‎Maki was faster today.

‎Shinra could tell she'd been practicing on her own. The movements were smoother, less forced. When he threw combinations, she flowed through them more naturally.

‎"Good. You've been working."

‎"Obviously."

‎He threw a fast hook. She redirected it, spun, almost landed a counter.

‎Almost.

‎"You hesitated on the counter. You had the opening but you waited to see if it would work."

‎"I didn't want to overcommit."

‎"Overcommitting is better than hesitating. In a real fight, that hesitation gets you killed." Shinra stepped back. "Again. Don't think. Just move."

‎They went harder this time. Maki started landing more counters. Not all of them, but enough.

‎By the end, she was breathing hard, but satisfied.

‎"Tomorrow," Shinra said, "we add something new."

‎Maki raised an eyebrow. "What?"

‎"You'll see."

‎---

‎Day 3 – Gojo Interruption

‎Shinra was walking to the training grounds when Gojo appeared beside him.

‎Literally appeared. One second empty space, the next Gojo.

‎"Morning, Shinra-kun!"

‎Shinra didn't even flinch anymore. "Gojo-sensei."

‎"Where are you off to? Training Maki? Cute. But I need you for something else today."

‎"What?"

‎Gojo held up his hand. A tiny sphere of cursed energy spun in his palm, unstable, flickering, but recognizable.

‎"Rasangaen... the spinning ball thing. You used against that curse"

‎"Rasengan you mean?."

‎"Either way. I want to learn it."

‎Shinra blinked. "You want to learn the Rasengan?."

‎"It's a perfect technique! Spinning cursed energy, high internal damage, no hand signs. Imagine me with that." Gojo grinned. "I could spin it forever. It'd be beautiful."

‎Shinra thought about it. Gojo with a Rasengan. Infinity plus spinning death ball.

‎"...Yeah okay. Let's do it."

‎---

‎They found an empty training area. Gojo stood across from him, blindfold off, Six Eyes fully active.

‎"Alright, sensei. Explain."

‎Shinra held up his hand.

‎"Rasengan is about three things. Rotation, power, and containment." He let cursed energy flow into his palm. Started spinning it. "You need to spin the energy in multiple directions at once while keeping it contained in a sphere. The rotation does the damage—it grinds through whatever it touches from the inside."

‎He formed the Rasengan fully. Blue-violet sphere, perfectly stable.

‎Gojo's Six Eyes studied it intensely.

‎"Fascinating. The energy patterns are... complex. Three separate rotations layered on top of each other." He held up his own hand. "Let me try."

‎Cursed energy gathered in his palm. Started spinning.

‎It exploded immediately.

‎"Oops."

‎"You gotta control the layers, not just spin it."

‎"Right, right."

‎Gojo tried again. Better this time, the sphere held for three seconds before destabilizing.

‎"Closer."

‎Third try.

‎Gojo's hand moved with precision. Cursed energy spiraled, perfect rotation, perfect containment, perfect everything. A Rasengan formed in his palm, stable and glowing.

‎He grinned.

‎"Got it."

‎Shinra stared. "That was three tries."

‎"Six Eyes, baby. I can see exactly what you're doing and copy it." Gojo admired the sphere. "This is fun. I'm keeping this."

‎"Of course you are."

‎Gojo dismissed the technique. Clapped Shinra on the shoulder.

‎"Thanks, Shinra-kun. You're a good teacher. Now go teach your girlfriend. I have techniques to practice."

‎"She's not my-"

‎But Gojo was already gone.

‎Day 7 – Midpoint Check

‎A week in, Maki was a different fighter.

‎Her movements were fluid now. When Shinra attacked, she flowed around him like water. When he pressed hard, she redirected and countered. She wasn't winning, not yet, but she wasn't losing either.

‎They sparred for three hours straight. Neither one backing down.

‎At the end, they stood across from each other, both breathing hard.

‎"You're getting it," Shinra said.

‎"I know." Maki wiped sweat from her face. "But I'm not there yet."

‎"Another week. You'll be there."

‎She nodded. No smile. Just focus.

‎---

‎Day 10 – The Flow

‎Something clicked on day ten.

‎Shinra threw everything at her,, combinations, feints, full speed attacks. Maki flowed through all of it. Redirecting. Parrying. Countering.

‎She landed a hit on his shoulder.

‎Then another on his ribs.

‎Then she caught his fist mid-punch and threw him.

‎Shinra hit the ground, rolled, came up grinning.

‎"There it is."

‎Maki stared at her hands. At him. At the space where he'd been standing.

‎"I... I did that."

‎"You did that."

‎A smile broke across her face. Genuine. Bright.

‎"Again."

‎They went another two hours.

‎---

‎Day 14 – Completion

‎The final day.

‎Shinra stood across from Maki. No weapons. Just hands.

‎"If you can land three clean hits in five minutes, you're done."

‎Maki didn't respond. Just dropped into a stance.

‎She moved first.

‎Fast. Fluid. Unpredictable. Her attacks came from angles that shouldn't work, flowed into each other without pause. Shinra redirected, parried, dodged, but she kept coming.

‎First hit. His shoulder.

‎Second hit. His ribs.

‎Third hit, his chest, palm strike, solid.

‎Shinra stepped back. Nodded.

‎"You're done."

‎Maki stood there, breathing hard, eyes bright. She'd done it. Actually done it.

‎DING!

‎[MISSION COMPLETE: The Teacher]

‎Objective: Fully teach Maki Zenin the Flowing Water, Crushing Rock style. ✓

‎Reward: Special Grade Tool "The Dragon-Slayer's Hilt" added to inventory.

‎Bonus Reward: Full Potential of FWCR Unlocked

‎Shinra paused.

‎Full potential?

‎Till now you were only parrying and redirecting, Rob explained. That was the basics. The full style includes rapid blade attacks, energy-based attacks, like that dog from One Punch Man, and automatic body movement in crisis situations.

‎So I was using the trial version?

‎Pretty much. Now you have the premium subscription.

‎Shinra reached into his inventory ring. Pulled out the Dragon-Slayer's Hilt.

‎It was beautiful. A dragon wrapped around an empty space where a blade should be. Intricate scales. Empty eyes. Waiting.

‎As soon as his fingers touched it, pure white energy erupted from the hilt.

‎The blade formed instantly, crystal clear, shimmering like frozen light. It hummed with power. When Shinra swung it, the air itself seemed to split.

‎Whoa.

‎Yeah. That's a Special Grade for you.

‎Maki was staring. "What is that?"

‎Shinra held it out to her.

‎"Gift. For finishing training."

‎Maki blinked. "You're giving me a Special Grade weapon."

‎"It's called the Dragon-Slayer's Hilt. No blade normally, the user's will creates it." He gestured. "Take it."

‎She reached out. Wrapped her fingers around the hilt.

‎The blade erupted again, but this time, it was different. More vibrant. Almost alive. The white energy seemed to pulse with her heartbeat, responding to something deep inside her.

‎Maki stared at the blade in her hands. At the light reflecting off her face. At the weight of it, not physical, but emotional.

‎"This is..."

‎"Yours. And you'll have the chance to use it tomorrow."

‎She looked up. "Tomorrow?"

‎"Kyoto sister school event. You're gonna need it."

‎Maki looked back at the blade. At the energy responding to her will. At the gift from someone who'd spent two weeks teaching her to be better.

‎"...Thank you."

‎Shinra shrugged. "Don't mention it. Just don't lose."

‎She smiled. Sharp and confident.

‎"I won't."
