Reno looked at Roger, who was still fighting Garp fiercely in the sky, showing no intention of returning. With a peculiar expression, Reno speculated,
"Uncle Roger wouldn't still be having too much fun fighting Garp and reluctant to come back, right?"
Hearing Reno's speculation, everyone aboard the pirate ship collectively rolled their eyes.
They were here to rescue someone, not to pick a fight with the Marines. How could it possibly be as Reno suggested?
Roger, however, was indeed as Reno guessed. He knew his body couldn't hold out much longer, and this parting might be for life.
So he genuinely didn't want to let go of Garp after so many years of rivalry, they'd practically developed a bond through their battles!
"Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Roger and Garp were locked in an intense fight, exchanging blows mid-air. Around them swirled storms of blades and a rain of punches. Each clash sent shockwaves rippling outward.
Overhead, dark clouds roiled, and beneath their feet, the sea churned violently.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The clash of Conqueror's Haki crackled with black lightning streaking across the sky.
"Crackle! Crackle!"
The scene of their battle in the sky resembled the end of the world.
"Boom!"
Roger, realizing they didn't have much time left and couldn't afford to linger, poured all his strength into a sword strike, sending Garp flying backward.
As Garp was hurled away, Roger shouted in his direction,
"Damn you, Garp! I'm leaving! Farewell forever!"
After yelling, Roger darted toward the pirate ship at lightning speed, flashing across the sky in just a few blinks before landing squarely on the ship.
Meanwhile, Garp, after stabilizing himself dozens of meters away, looked at Roger's retreating figure and muttered,
"Why did that bastard leave so suddenly? And what did he mean by what he said just now?"
Roger's words had sounded like a final farewell, leaving Garp puzzled. Unable to figure it out on the spot, he decided to think about it more back on his ship.
The crew of the Roger Pirates gathered around him after his return, waiting for his orders on what to do next.
After some discussion about their escape plans, Rayleigh brought up Reno's earlier suggestion.
Hearing it, Roger turned to Reno and asked,
"Little Reno, you mentioned an attack that could 'fly for a while.' What kind of attack is that?"
With an innocent and mischievous smile, Reno replied,
"It's just throwing a few rocks at the Marines fleet. By the time the rocks hit, we'll already be gone, and they won't have time to bother with us!"
Everyone: "..."
Throwing rocks at the Marines fleet that's what you meant by an attack that could "fly for a while"?
The entire crew stared at Reno with black lines forming on their foreheads, internally sighing. Sure, Reno was clever, but he was still just a five-year-old kid. What were they expecting?
No one on board believed Reno's plan could cause the kind of chaos he described.
Rocks? The Marines could easily smash those to dust. How could they possibly leave the Marines elites scrambling?
However, those who knew Reno best felt there must be more to his idea. Someone asked,
"Little Reno, what kind of rocks are you talking about? And we're out at sea where are we supposed to find any rocks to throw?"
Reno didn't answer but instead wore a mysterious smile.
"You'll see when the time comes!"
The truth was, Reno decided to keep it a secret because of the skepticism he saw in their eyes. He wanted to surprise them.
Reno imagined their stunned faces when they saw meteors falling. It would be priceless!
Yes, Reno wasn't planning to throw ordinary rocks; he was calling down flaming meteors from outer space!
Using his psychokinesis, he could pull meteors down. This was his first time trying it, and though he hadn't wanted to reveal this ability, the sudden arrival of so many Marines elites left him no choice.
Since Reno refused to elaborate, the crew didn't press further. Unsure if his plan would work, they started brainstorming a backup plan, just in case.
Once everyone was back on board, Reno, ignoring whether they were ready, started gathering a green energy aura around himself.
He reached toward the sky, then yanked downward forcefully repeating the motion three times before stopping.
Satisfied, Reno thought to himself, Three meteors should keep the Marines plenty busy. Any more, and too many people might die.
He glanced at Roger and the others, who were still debating escape strategies. Deciding to let them do as they pleased, Reno found a hidden spot to settle in.
He figured their departure would draw some resistance, given the presence of not just Marines forces but also CP0 agents. Those people wouldn't care about collateral damage.
Rayleigh, who had been keeping an eye on Reno, noticed the boy's green energy aura and immediately realized what was happening.
Understanding both Reno's personality and abilities, Rayleigh knew exactly what this meant: the kid was about to make his move!
Without even questioning Reno, Rayleigh shouted to the crew, "Everyone, get ready! Reno is taking off now be prepared for anything!"
The crew stared blankly at Reno in the corner, stunned.
They were still discussing their escape, and now this kid was about to act on his own?
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
"Hummm! Hummm!"
Just as someone was about to confront Reno, a strange sound filled the air.
It was the noise of something massive tearing through the sky and the friction of heavy objects falling through the atmosphere.
Both the pirates and the Marines looked skyward in confusion, trying to locate the source of the sound.
The dark, stormy clouds obscured the sky, leaving them unable to see anything. All they could hear was an ominous, hair-raising screech.
Reno grinned innocently as he listened to the sound from above the clouds. "Uncle Roger, the rocks I threw are about to hit. Get ready I'm about to take off!"
