Chapter 78 - Sengoku Has Already Given You to Me

[Next Day — Noon]

Because Reno had rested too late the previous night, he slept straight through until noon before slowly getting up from bed.

After tidying himself up, Reno finally walked out of the small house. The moment he stepped into the courtyard, he noticed that a young female Marine was already sitting there. She looked only around seventeen or eighteen years old, yet her height was nearly two meters.

When the female Marine saw Reno come out, she immediately stepped forward and introduced herself, "Hello! My name is Gion. Admiral Sengoku sent me here. I'll be responsible for handling everything regarding your stay in Marineford during this period. If you have any requests, just tell me. I will do my best to satisfy them!"

Hearing her introduction and seeing her tall figure at such a young age, Reno was secretly surprised. Could this long-legged girl really be the future Gion, the one famous for legs that people admire for years?

Her age right now is a bit too old for raising from scratch. And she's already grown, unlike those unfortunate girls with tragic pasts. Trying to trick her might be quite difficult.

But if I succeed, it's pure profit. If I fail, I don't lose anything. So I'll just go with the flow and try my luck.

Thinking this, Reno revealed a smiling expression and looked at Gion as he asked, "You're saying any request can be satisfied?"

Gion clearly hadn't experienced much of the harshness of the world yet. Seeing that Reno was still just a child, she didn't suspect anything and replied honestly, "Yes. No matter what the request is, I will do my best to satisfy you."

Seeing her innocent and naïve demeanor, Reno almost felt a little bad about taking advantage of her. He couldn't help but think to himself, She looks this simple and naïve. She's probably just graduated from the elite training camp and hasn't gone on any real missions yet, right?

If she had actually experienced missions and seen the ugliness of pirates and human nature, she probably wouldn't still have this pure and naïve look.

With that thought, Reno suddenly felt that it was necessary to teach her what the real world was like. So he smiled and said, "Since you said anything is fine, then come over here first and massage my shoulders and legs."

Hearing such an excessive request, Gion froze on the spot. In her heart, she immediately cursed, I was sent here to handle his arrangements in Marineford, not to be his servant. And he actually wants me to massage his shoulders and legs? This little brat has gone too far!

Thinking this, Gion immediately rejected him righteously, "Admiral Sengoku only assigned me to handle your arrangements in Marineford. He didn't send me here to be your servant. So the request you just made is absolutely impossible. I will never agree to it!"

Reno didn't mind her firm rejection at all. In his eyes, she was simply too naïve. Today, he was going to show her what it meant to twist black into white, and what a master-level deception looked like.

Thinking this, Reno glanced at Gion and then casually asked, "Gion, you just graduated from the elite training camp, right? Have you participated in any missions?"

Hearing Reno's question, Gion was secretly shocked. How does he know I just graduated from the elite training camp? Did Admiral Sengoku tell him?

She had indeed just graduated, and although she had gone out to sea a few times with her sister Tsuru, it was only in name for training.

With Vice Admiral Tsuru protecting her the whole time, she hadn't actually gained any real combat experience. She was like a flower raised in a greenhouse, which was why she still appeared so naïve and innocent.

Only after she truly went out on her own would she gain real experience and grow into a capable Marine.

Although she didn't know how Reno found out, since he already knew, there was no need to hide it. So she answered honestly, "I did just graduate from the elite training camp. As for going out to sea, I've gone a few times with my sister."

Hearing this, Reno already had a clear idea. He immediately continued his manipulation, "Do you know why Sengoku sent a rookie female Marine like you to do this job, instead of sending a male Marine or a more experienced female Marine?"

Gion looked puzzled and asked, "I don't know why Admiral Sengoku did that. Since you're asking, do you know the reason?"

Seeing that she had taken the bait, Reno increased the intensity of his deception and said, "That old bastard Sengoku has treated you like an object and gifted you to me, a distinguished guest. From now on, whether it's your life or your body and soul, none of it belongs to you anymore. It all belongs to me."

"But you're still lucky. I'm just a child right now, so I can't really do anything. If it were an adult instead, you would've been in serious trouble."

Gion felt as if she had been struck by lightning when she heard this. Her face instantly turned pale.

In her mind, she recalled what Sengoku had told her that morning: not to resist Reno, and that if anything couldn't be handled, she should report it to him. As long as Reno didn't do anything that harmed the Marines, she should comply with his requests.

So that's what he meant…

In reality, Sengoku hadn't meant that at all. What he meant was that she shouldn't try to stop Reno from doing things, because the difference in strength between them was too great. Combined with Garp's warning that Reno was dangerous, Sengoku was simply worried that Gion might get herself killed if she interfered.

But now, in Gion's mind, it had turned into: no matter what Reno did to her, she must not resist.

If Reno knew about her mental leap, he would probably laugh out loud and say it wasn't his deception that was strong, but her imagination that was too powerful. It was like being handed a pillow right when he was feeling sleepy.

Reno didn't know what she was thinking, but seeing her pale expression, he guessed she had already believed him. This girl really is too simple.

With a smile, he asked, "So now that I'm asking you to massage my shoulders and legs, are you still going to refuse?"

Gion, still pale, looked completely shaken and said, "I don't believe what you said is true. I'm going to ask Admiral Sengoku myself. This can't be real!"

After saying that, she turned around unsteadily, intending to leave and find Sengoku to confirm the truth.

But how could Reno possibly let her leave? If she really went to ask Sengoku, everything would be exposed.
