So before you start to get into the story, I have a few quick things to say.
First off, the first 50 or so chapters can be a little slow. Not because I go into overly descriptive writing, but because I gradually introduce the characters, the world, and the atmosphere. I'm still pretty new to writing, and I personally like to get everything set up before I get into the good stuff.
Of course, I also try to ensure that every chapter contains something of value. Even when things are slowing down, there should be some moments, developments, or steps that provide some meaning to the chapter. I did it this way mainly to avoid any info-dumping, so most of it is discovered gradually and, hopefully, in a more engaging and immersive way.
Also… trust me, the story does start to pick up later. Around chapter 60+, things slowly begin moving faster, and by the time it reaches around chapter 100+, the story should feel much more dynamic. Of course, if it still doesn't feel that way, then that's completely on me.
Lastly, this novel was inspired by many works, though mostly in terms of general themes rather than direct copying. I've always liked the "extra character" and academy-style settings, so I decided to try writing my own take on it. However, I can assure you that the story doesn't follow the same path as The Novel's Extra or The Author's POV from the start.
Also, if you're planning to leave a low rating, I'd really appreciate it if you could include some feedback along with it. I'm still learning as a writer, so any constructive criticism would genuinely help me improve and grow as an author.
One last thing. Even though the romance tag is there, it will appear quite late in the story since it isn't the main focus for now. And considering the MC is a pretty dense guy with… let's just say cautious tendencies around beautiful women, it's probably going to take some time.
And, despite there being several female characters in the story, this is not a harem novel.
Definitely not.
sighed
I can barely handle one girlfriend (if I ever had one), and I'm supposed to write a harem story? That would be a bit too ambitious for me XD.
Also, this first book of mine is very important to me. I really love the extra theme story, because it was the first webnovel with that theme that I actually finished and did not stop in the middle.
But more than that, I always felt like the theme had more to offer, that it was not fully explored yet. Because of that feeling, I decided to explore it on my own, to write a story of my own.
That is why even though this is my first book, even though I am an inexperienced writer, I will use this book as a way to give more meaning to the extra theme, and to truly bring out its full potential.
So because of that, I will do my best to write this story that I really cherish. And I hope, by the end of this story, I will achieve my goal.
Anyway, this is going to be a long ride, and probably a bit of an emotional rollercoaster too. So… buckle up, and I hope you enjoy the story.
