Chapter 167 - Difficult to Handle

Lumine stopped when she heard that, deciding to listen to what Chisato still had to say.

"I'm hoping the two of you can deliver a letter for me to Narukami Island," Chisato said, looking at Lumine's back. "To Mr. Kamaji, the second son of the Tenryou Commission."

"My father has always opposed our contact. Politically, he likely has higher expectations for my marriage," she continued. "But in my heart, there is only Mr. Kamaji."

"No one on Ritou can defy my father's will, and you just happen to be rare outsiders who wish to go to Narukami Island…"

She looked at Lumine and Paimon as she explained.

[ So she's a pure love warrior ]

"So that's the situation…" Paimon nodded.

"In return, I will do everything I can to help you leave this place. Please trust me!" Chisato placed a hand over her chest and assured them.

"There's really no other option," Lumine sighed and agreed.

After all, they had no better solution.

And Qiuqian had disappeared somewhere—she hadn't seen him for two whole days.

"As long as you remain in Inazuma…" Chisato added, "my father has no intention of letting you leave Ritou."

"We figured that out already," Paimon said with a smug look.

"A few days ago, I secretly overheard my father speaking with a rather arrogant woman…" Chisato recalled. "They were discussing how to keep the foreign Traveler trapped on Ritou."

"It was the first time I'd ever seen my father act so respectful toward someone other than the Shogun."

"An arrogant woman…" Lumine frowned slightly.

Based on her deductions, Hiiragi Shinsuke likely had ties to the Fatui.

And paired with that description, it reminded her of the Fatui Harbinger La Signora from the Golden House.

If it really was her… what was she doing in Inazuma?

"Also, they seemed to mention someone named Qiuqian," Chisato added after thinking for a moment. "I don't know if it's just my imagination, but when that woman spoke about him, she didn't sound as arrogant anymore."

"I couldn't hear the rest clearly."

"As expected, everything connects," Lumine muttered, her brows knitting together.

"That arrogant woman must be Signora," Paimon said, spreading her hands.

"She wasn't as arrogant anymore?" Xuehua chuckled. "Signora, you don't even dare talk behind Qiuqian's back now?"

[ 'Not as arrogant anymore' ]

[ Guess why she suddenly toned it down ]

[ LOL even her tone softened when mentioning Qiuqian ]

[ Would she dare not to? ]

[ What are you even implying above? ]

[ You're acting suspicious ]

[ After all this effort, we finally found a way to Narukami Island (laughing) ]

[ By the way, where did Qiuqian even go? ]

[ Probably wandering somewhere, maybe he's already at Narukami Island ]

[ Could he have gone to find that pink-haired fox from the PV? ]

[ Qiuqian simp: When will he be in the banner? I've saved 50,000 Primogems already (teary) ]

[ Bro, I've seen you multiple times already ]

[ 50k? Respect. That's dedication ]

[ When is the Raiden Shogun showing up? Hurry up already (crying) ]

"The timing should be about right. Let me tell you the plan to get you out…" Chisato said, nodding. "There happens to be a shipment…"

She then explained the plan to Lumine and Paimon.

"Alright, I'll be waiting at the checkpoint," Chisato said. "As for the letter… I'm counting on you."

With that, she headed toward the checkpoint.

"By the way, we found a way to get to Narukami Island," Paimon said, turning to Lumine. "But what about Qiuqian? Can we find him?"

Lumine said nothing. Instead, she gave Paimon a slightly mocking look and followed after Chisato.

"What was that supposed to mean?!" Paimon stomped her foot angrily, feeling somehow insulted.

"I'm dying—" Xuehua laughed, slapping her thigh. "The way Lumine looked at Paimon was like she was looking at an idiot!"

[ Lumine's expression → (panda suppressing laughter meme) ]

[ That description is way too accurate, I can't ]

[ I'm begging you, stop (facepalm) ]

[ Qiuqian is probably already on Narukami Island, and Paimon's still worrying about him… she really cares (teary) ]

When they arrived, two attendants were already there, standing beside the goods to be transported.

The wooden crates were filled with Crystal Marrow—the raw material used to produce Delusions.

One of the attendants was Shinnojou, the same person who had delivered the letter earlier.

"Wait, this shipment…" Chisato stepped forward. "Is it being sent to Watatsumi Island?"

"Young Lady! Why are you here?" Shinnojou replied in surprise. "You're correct. This shipment was specifically ordered by the head of the Kanjou Commission to be delivered intact to Watatsumi Island."

Lumine frowned slightly.

Why would the Kanjou Commission send goods to Watatsumi Island? That was the territory of the resistance army.

The Shogunate delivering supplies to their enemy—it didn't make any sense.

"What is your intention, Young Lady?" another attendant asked, scratching his head.

"Then everything is in order," Chisato said calmly. "My father was concerned, so he instructed me to accompany the shipment along with a skilled escort."

"Young Lady, you'll personally escort it?" the attendant hesitated. "This… that may not be necessary. And this… this 'skilled escort'… her identity is…"

He glanced at Lumine, clearly uneasy.

"Nice to meet you," Lumine said with a polite smile.

"Please don't delay any further," Chisato's tone grew firmer. "I believe my father urged you to hurry. Being late would also bring punishment, wouldn't it?"

"Young Lady, we understand your intentions," the attendant said, still troubled. "But this person…"

His hesitation was obvious.

This… was difficult to handle.

Update: The author has resumed updates. After the car accident, there were lingering effects—numbness in the fingertips due to nerve damage. It has mostly recovered now. One fingertip is still numb, but it's nothing serious anymore.
