[Kills: 169/500]
The battle was almost over, that is, between Aegon and the pack of wolves; the dead pack of wolves.
Aegon used a side eye to look at the system hovering before him, his pupil shrank.
'What… Just 169?'
He was shocked to see that after killing all the small monsters, it was just a total of one hundred and sixty-nine that he had filled from the mission.
He had thought this before, that they were not up to two hundred, but he didn't think it was actually true.
At this moment, Aegon was covered in blood and part of the flesh from the monsters was on his body.
He was nearly tired as he had been going on like this for some while. With the punching, kicking, and dodging, his body was already getting tired.
'It would have been easy if I had used [Particle Execution] from the start…'
The thing is, the skill [Particle Execution] was a 100X multiplier Enhancement of the basic basic skill [Warp Fit].
Aegon had noticed that what he was currently using was the skill [Warp Fit], although there was nothing stopping him from using its 100X evolution [Particle Execution].
It was a win-win that even though the basic skill had a more advanced version, he could use both.
Aegon wiped the sweat off his face as he thought of this.
'It is more like I have two skills even though it's just one…'
He chuckled as he thought of this, while he tried to hold his balance.
He stared at the dead monsters and felt a bit accomplished, but it wasn't finished.
Before him the larger monster still stood, watching. It hadn't moved an inch since Aegon started killing its minions.
It was almost as if it was crafting a strategy to deal with him.
Aegon wiped off the blood on his lips using the back of his right hand, his piercing gaze directly on the monster.
It didn't flinch, it didn't look sacred. The monster stood proud as it looked down on Aegon.
To it, Aegon was no more than a small fry, the difference in size was obvious and so would be the strength.
Feeling its gaze, Aegon thought in his heart.
'I shouldn't waste time with this beast, I have a mission to complete..'
'Although it would seem it has a small portion of intelligence so I can't underestimate it. Even so, the battle is already won. It hasn't seen me use [Particle Execution] so if it was to craft a plan to kill me, it wouldn't take that into consideration.'
At this moment, the expression on the monster's face seemed to have shifted. It was as if it felt that even with its intimidating presence, that didn't seem to affect its target.
It couldn't help but feel that Aegon still had something else up his sleeve.
With this, the monster moved a step forward, raised its head and left out a large howl. The sound carried shockwaves that seemed to disturb the flow of the wind and fog.
As the howling went on, the Farmers behind Aegon were covering their ears from the intense sound.
But, Aegon didn't, he stood firm, his jacket dancing in the wind the waves created. He didn't move an inch, and only stared at the monster, as his lips curved into a smile.
'Calling your homies right? That would mean I shouldn't play with you for long.'
Aegon obviously knew what the howl was about. Since the monster felt that Aegon must have had a skill up his sleeve he hadn't showed yet.
And being an intelligent creature, it called for backup while it went into battle.
'Smart move, ngl.'
Nyra and the rest of the Farmer, after the howling stopped and the wind had calmed down, were all left speechless.
The shockwave was strong enough to send them flying, if it wasn't for their feet already deep within the snow, they would have been in another part of the ring by now.
Nyra's gaze immediately went to Aegon, her heart feeling heavy as she thought:
'His he going to face that thing? He can't, not by himself.'
Nyra was about to move forward when suddenly Sinon grabbed her hand.
"Where are you going?" Sinon asked, staring at Nyra intensely.
"I… I… I…" the words didn't seem to come out from Nyra's lips.
"Don't be foolish…" Sinon uttered. "…didn't you feel that wave right now? There is no way we can defeat that thing, we are almost out of mana."
"Going to assist him will only slow him down, if we want to help him, we should be looking for the Pedestal Crystal."
"Y… You are right…" Nyra said, retreating.
Of course Sinon was right, because if they were to go and try to fight alongside Aegon they would just be caught up in his skill.
The distance they were at currently was the right distance, and even if he was to use [Particle Execution], it wouldn't affect them.
Aegon was standing facing the wolve, its massive figure towering over him, as the light form above casted over its shadow.
"Are you ready?"
The monster howled for a second and immediately charged towards Aegon in full speed, it's claws visible.
It wasn't only huge but had fast speed and agility
"So fast…" Aegon mumbled.
The monster was charging towards Aegon and instantly saw how he had stretched his hand.
Seeing this, it moved right in sound speed, evading whatever Aegon was supposed to throw at it.
"Shit…" Aegon cursed. "It might not know the skill but it's able to sense danger and evade."
It was a smart move from the monster, after all it was an intelligent one. Unlike the small, mindless monsters that would only charged directly without consideration and statistical thinking.
This monster was much more different, and there was another, somewhere in this same place.
What if they were both in one place, attacking?
Aegon couldn't help but think of the worst, but even so, his expression was calm.
He stood in one place, his right hand still stretched forward as he followed the monster who was running around him.
";_-_;"
From afar, Nyra and other hadn't left but were watching, when someone asked.
"What his he doing?"
It was one of the random Farmers, but there was no response to the question as no one knew what was going either.
"We should really be going… " Chrome whispered into Nyra's ear, but she didn't react as her focus was on the fight.
Back at Aegon, he still hadn't made progress in capturing the monster. It was a smart beast, but it's patience was running out as Aegon hadn't made any attempts to come to it.
At this moment, Aegon stopped turning with the monster and chose only to stand. Upon seeing this opportunity, the monster, which was behind Aegon charged and leaped forward at him.
In its mind, Aegon had let his guard down and was open for an immediate assault.
Feeling the steps of the monster running towards him, Aegon smiled saying:
"A monster is still a beast, and a beast is still a mindless creature."
It was at this moment, when close, that the monster leaped towards Aegon, but Aegon didn't flinch as he swiftly turned around, facing the terrifying monsters who had its fangs and claws out, ready to devour him.
However, Aegon stretched out his hands and two words came out of his lips.
"Particle Execution!"
..
Nyra and the others had seen as the monster had leaped towards Aegon.
They all felt that it was over, as a single voice said.
"We should be looking for the Pedestal Crystal…"
As if the statement was implying that there was no hope on watching anymore, that there was zero percent chance he was going to come out alive after the charge of such a terrifying monsters.
Everyone turned around to leave but, suddenly halted. In a far distance a long line of shadows seemed to appear in the fog.
It was at this moment that their eyes all opened. It was the second pack of monsters and its own massive beast.
They all felt hopeless since there was no way to run, and on impulse, they turned back; to Aegon's direction.
But just as they did, a wind of red liquid, like the wave of the ocean came bathing on them.
It was very hazy, but they were able to protect their eyes to see what had occurred, and just then they saw a single figure in the far end.
It was unclear, but the figure was standing and not moving. They all held their breaths as they were in the line of complete annihilation or salvation.
Just then, the fog seems to clear and the figure emgered visibly, eyes wide opened, body covered in blood.
It was Aegon, and with a single step taken forward, everyone's heart lifted with a single thought in minds.
"He is alive."
