Reiji looked through all the books he could, but he didn't find anything. All prisoners would have to line up in front of the chow hall at a set time. Depending on their jobs, some would have to return to them after food.
They lined up, the guards checked if anyone was missing and then they went into the chow hall one by one. When Reiji got his food, he sat down next to a very buff, bald guy with a thick beard. This was the same guy he recognized before but didn't know exactly who he was. He looked at the guy, poking him with his elbow.
"What's your name?"
The man turned his head slowly and looked at Reiji who was a bit smaller before answering.
"Taiken Kurozuma."
Reiji calmly ate his food before answering.
"Reiji Kurozuma…wait."
Taiken and Reiji looked at each other. "Brother?" Taiken asked before Reiji's hand shot out and grabbed the back of Taiken's head and smashed it into the food in front of him.
Taiken managed to slip out of Reiji's death grip and quickly stood up, shoving Reiji back into another guy.
The man gets knocked back and hits another guy who then pushes him away. The guy who pushed him gets swarmed by the buddies of the guy he pushed, and his buddies come to help him.
While this was happening Taiken wiped his face from the food and guards started running towards the commotion. Some inmates stood up and attacked other inmates for seemingly no reason, probably old grudges, while others simply sneaked away.
Right, I forgot that my strength comes from life force. My weight stays the same because it's not muscle size or density deciding how strong I am.
"Is this how you welcome your brother?! You're just as much of a failure as I am if you ended up here!"
Taiken screamed. Reiji calmly stood up and took in all of the commotion.
"I'm not going to be here for long."
Taiken laughed. "That's what we all told ourselves."
Reiji's gaze then turned hazy and this caused him to receive a punch from Taiken that sent him to the ground. Reiji fought it and was able to stand up when he spotted an inmate staring at him with soulless eyes. Just as the man got a punch to the chin by a random inmate, the haze in Reiji's vision cleared up before he could be knocked out.
I'll kill that guy later.
Reiji thought as Taiken scooped him up and slammed him onto a table, breaking it in two.
"Size is size, brother." Said Taiken before he was sent flying back by Reiji's kick to the stomach. Taiken hit two guys that were fighting behind him. He pushed them against the sharp edge of the wooden table behind them which caused them to drop to the floor in pain. Their bodies cushioned Taiken's impact. Reiji got up and looked at Taiken for a tense minute.
"You left me!" Reiji screamed. "Eh, you were hopeless since birth." Taiken answered with a dismissive wave of the hand. "You may be older by five years but that won't help you." Reiji said as he moved closer to Taiken.
Taiken punched Reiji, causing Reiji's head to turn slightly to the side but it hurt Taiken's fist more than it did Reiji. Taiken looked at his knuckles for a moment, clearly surprised. Before he could look up Reiji went low and grabbed him by the waist, lifted him up and slammed him into the wooden table, snapping it in half before he grabbed Taiken's legs and dragged him across the floor, through the broken wood and knocked out bodies before throwing him into the table they broke earlier.
Taiken hit one of the broken pieces and pushed it away, stopping only when he hit the legs of a few guys who ganged up on one buff dude. Two of these guys fell over and laid on Taiken who quickly got up and took care of the other three guys that were about to attack him with one quick punch to each of their chins.
The other two guys stood up but Taiken pushed them apart and moved away as Reiji jumped into the air and missed the punch that was directed at Taiken, punching a hole through the wooden table that wasn't broken.
Taiken quickly grabbed a chair. Reiji pulled out his first and moved toward Taiken but was stopped by him throwing a chair at him. Reiji dodged Taiken's punch and rolled over the table. As Taiken crawled onto it Reiji threw a chair at him with one hand and flipped the table on its side with the other. The table was small enough to jump over when laid on its side. Reiji turned for a moment and noticed that more guards were entering the chow hall. This distraction allowed Taiken to get him into a chokehold.
"You idiot, wait. See those guards? We take those out and we're home free."
Reiji said, struggling to speak properly and pointing at the guards.
"Oh, and where do you intend to go? We're on an island and it's winter!"
Taiken screamed.
"Fine, you rot here until the end of your days."
Reiji manipulated Taiken's life force and pried him off with ease, throwing him to the floor. He quickly ran forward, jumping across the tables right into the mayhem with all of the guards. While he made quick work of them, some of the inmates began to run out of the chow hall.
Reiji searched for Taiken in the crowd and saw him running over. "Come on, you big, dumb idiot." Reiji muttered.
Taiken finally made it. "Fine, let's try it but once we have our freedom secured, we are continuing this."
"Fine by me."
Reiji answered and the two of them ran out. "Follow me toward the library!" Reiji yelled.
"You want to read books now?!" Taiken asked and followed him.
After running for a moment, they broke through the first glass door and kicked open the one to the library. Reiji grabbed the book about animals. He then threw it through a window and they crawled out. He grabbed the book and they ran towards the walls surrounding the prison.
