Chapter 165 - Chapter 166: Leveling Up, Back to Old Business

Listening to Dean's explanation, Leo immediately knew who had caused Dean's troubles.

This "other person" referred to Ashir.

That must have been when the Doctor sent him to acquire creatures; he hadn't expected it to cause trouble for the Colton Gang instead.

"It's fine."

Leo said.

"You've worked hard. Collect as many as you can; there's no need to rush."

Dean nodded and remained silent for a moment.

"Although we've been acquiring them discreetly and in a decentralized manner, it's inevitably caught some people's attention. The prices for all kinds of animals are skyrocketing, and there are other various expenses..."

His voice grew lower and lower.

"Currently, the Colton Family doesn't have much available capital left."

Leo's eyebrows twitched slightly.

Dean continued.

"On September 1st, the Mafia's Underground Auction will be held in Yorknew City. Boss Vivian needs to reserve a large amount of funds to participate in the bidding. So over the next few months, the speed and quantity of creature acquisitions might decrease significantly."

He paused, his voice tinged with a clear apology.

"Once the auction is over, large-scale acquisitions will resume."

Dean lowered his head.

"I've disappointed you, and I'm very sorry. I hope this doesn't affect the friendship between us."

Leo looked out the window without speaking.

Dean thought he was unhappy and quickly added.

"Boss Vivian truly values her cooperation with you; it's just that this auction is simply too important for the Colton Family—"

"I know."

Leo interrupted him.

"Slowing down the collection is fine; it avoids drawing unwanted attention."

Dean looked up, surprise in his eyes.

Leo turned his head and looked at him.

"Tell Vivian for me that I'm satisfied."

Dean was stunned for a moment.

Leo continued.

"I'll transfer a sum of money to you. Just keep acquiring them for me."

Dean's expression changed, and he waved his hands repeatedly.

"This... how can this be? Boss Vivian instructed—"

He opened his mouth but couldn't find the words.

They indeed hadn't fulfilled their promise; they had broken their word.

Dean lowered his head, his face full of difficulty.

Leo looked at him without explaining much.

He didn't want such a small matter to affect his leveling speed.

The Colton Family's attitude satisfied him; it would be hard to find such an obedient power to handle things for him in a short time.

He wouldn't feel at ease leaving it to anyone else.

"I will only say this once."

Leo's voice was calm, yet it carried an unquestionable authority.

Dean looked up and met Leo's gaze.

An invisible Nen Pressure radiated from Leo. It wasn't heavy, but it was enough to make cold sweat instantly break out on Dean's back.

"Don't make me repeat myself."

Dean shuddered and nodded quickly.

"Yes! I understand!"

He didn't dare say more. He turned back and secretly wiped away his cold sweat.

Leo withdrew his gaze and looked out the window again.

Vivian wanted to win a large number of treasures at the Underground Auction to enhance the gang's reputation.

The original story mentioned that after successfully winning a treasure at the Underground Auction, an additional five percent fee must be paid to the organizers.

Besides showing off financial power, it also allows underworld figures from all over the world to get to know you, raising your status.

Thus, people often bid huge sums to win, only to end up forced into bankruptcy.

Leo pondered. There were still a few months until September 1st; he could help the Colton Family make a plan.

If she could take a seat among the Ten Dons and control the underground order of a region, the Coltons could serve him even better.

But that was for later. First, he had to raise his Rank.

The convoy stopped at the entrance of the Breeding Farm.

Leo stepped out of the car. Before him was a familiar, vast area enclosed by fences.

The air was filled with the characteristic scent of livestock, and the cries of various animals echoed from a distance.

Dean followed behind him and pointed ahead.

"It's the same as last time; all personnel have been evacuated. All surveillance equipment has also been removed in advance."

Leo nodded.

"I see. You can go now."

Dean didn't say much. He got into the car, and the convoy quickly disappeared at the end of the road.

Once the cars had completely vanished, invisible Nen spread out from him as the center—a radius of four hundred meters.

He carefully sensed every inch of the area, confirming there were no hidden cameras or lurking figures.

After confirming it was safe, he stepped into the Breeding Farm.

Time passed quickly. Four days later.

For four whole days, Leo hadn't left this area.

Like a harvester, he hunted the creatures before him one by one.

He used no fancy techniques; it was the most direct and efficient way.

Slaughtering them with Nen Bullets, every strike precisely hitting a vital spot.

Herds of cattle fell, herds of horses fell, sounders of pigs fell.

Even the captive wild beasts were killed one by one under his Nen Bullet attacks.

With over twenty-six thousand creatures, the tattoo on the back of his hand almost never stopped heating up.

Notifications of Life Energy constantly flashed in his mind, merging into a continuous, flowing river.

On the evening of the fourth day.

"Bang!" The last creature crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Leo withdrew his fist and lightly shook the blood from his hand.

A wave of warmth came from the tattoo on the back of his hand.

[Rank: Level 75 (2%)]

He looked down at the tattoo and shook his head slightly.

"Leveling up is getting harder and harder."

Over twenty-six thousand creatures only raised him from Level 73 to Level 75.

If it continued like this, even a hundred billion jenny wouldn't be enough to spend.

Leo took out his phone and opened his bank account.

Balance: 2 billion jenny.

He had transferred 5 billion to the Colton Family earlier.

That money was all earned at the Heavens Arena—from every victory, plus betting on himself, as well as the bounties from capturing criminals and wiping out the Genei Ryodan.

He earned a lot, but spent it just as fast.

Leo put away his phone and walked out of the Breeding Farm.

Three hours later, he sat in the airport waiting hall, watching the Airships taking off and landing outside the window.

It was time to get back to his old business.

He flipped through his phone, pulling up the list of wanted fugitives, his gaze slowly scanning the long list of names.

Avatars and bounty amounts came into view.

Rank A, Rank B, Rank C, ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions.

The targets he once had to take seriously had now, in his eyes, become mobile vaults.

The corners of Leo's mouth curled up slightly.

"You're the ones."

He booked a ticket to the Yorbian Continent, put away his phone, and leaned back against the seat.

Outside the window, an Airship was taking off, disappearing into the clouds.

He closed his eyes, his mind already starting to plan his next route.

Hunting wanted fugitives to earn money while searching for suitable creature habitats to raise his level.

Killing two birds with one stone. The acquisitions on Dean's side wouldn't stop, but the speed would slow down.

His own income had to keep up as well.

But before that—

Leo thought of the Yorknew City Underground Auction Vivian had mentioned.

September 1st, still a few months away.

He opened his eyes and looked at the surging sea of clouds outside the window.

The position of the Ten Dons—perhaps he could help the Colton Family scheme for it.
