Chapter 31 - The Zero Protocol

The USB drive hummed with a low, rhythmic vibration as soon as it touched the Aegis-7's terminal. Unlike the complex UI of the Global Association, the interface that appeared on the screen was minimalist—ancient Berber scripts intertwined with binary code.

"Jin, wait!" Mi-na's voice was distorted, her holographic form flickering in a sea of orange sparks. "This isn't a normal file. It's a 'Reality Overwrite.' Your father didn't just leave you information; he left you the master key to the Moroccan Server's physical laws."

Suddenly, the screen displayed a single line of text that made Jin's heart stop: "The System is a lie. The Glitch is the only truth. To save the land, you must become the error."

Before Jin could process the words, a massive explosion rocked the Sky-Rif Fortress. The alarms didn't just sound; they screamed in a digital frequency that shattered the glass panels of the bridge.

[WARNING: PERIMETER BREACH][ENTITY DETECTED: CLEANER 01]

Jin grabbed the Atlas Heart and sprinted toward the main hangar. When he arrived, his new guild—Zora and the others—were already in combat positions. But they weren't fighting a man or a machine. Standing in the center of the hangar was a tall, faceless silhouette made of pure white static. It didn't have eyes, a mouth, or armor. It was a walking void.

Cleaner 01 raised a hand. Wherever its fingers pointed, the metal of the ship didn't melt—it simply vanished, leaving behind a perfectly circular hole in reality.

"Stay back!" Zora yelled, launching a massive vortex of blue flames toward the entity.

The white static figure didn't dodge. The flames hit its chest and were instantly 'unmade.' They didn't extinguish; they were deleted from the server's memory. Zora gasped as her mana bar suddenly dropped to zero.

"It's not attacking our health," Jin realized, his [Glitch Foresight] flickering wildly. "It's attacking our definition. It's deleting our right to exist in this space."

Jin lunged forward, the Atlas Heart glowing with a frantic orange light. "Zero Protocol, activate!"

The USB drive's data surged through Jin's veins. His vision turned monochrome. The world around him slowed down until it looked like raw, uncompiled code. He saw the 'strings' that held Cleaner 01 together.

[SKILL EVOLVED: SOURCE BREACH – LEVEL 1]

Jin didn't strike the entity's body. He struck the air around it, slicing through the logic lines that allowed the Cleaner to exist. The Atlas Heart let out a roar of ancient power. Red and orange energy collided with the white static, creating a shockwave of raw data that sent the other guild members flying.

For the first time, the faceless entity let out a sound—a high-pitched screech of a corrupted file. Its white form began to flicker, revealing a core of dark, concentrated anti-matter.

"You... are... not... authorized..." the Cleaner's voice echoed, a thousand voices speaking at once.

"I am the King of this Dead Zone," Jin growled, twisting the glaive. "And you are just a bug in my mountain."

With a final surge of power, Jin drove the blade into the entity's core. The explosion was silent but blinding. When the light faded, the hangar was empty. Cleaner 01 was gone, but Jin's arm was covered in grey, static-like veins.

[NOTIFICATION: Zero Protocol Phase 1 Complete][Status: Server Independence - 15%][Warning: The Architects are now tracking your physical heartbeat.]

Jin looked at his trembling hand. He had won, but he felt less human than ever before. He looked at Zora and his guild; they were looking at him not with admiration, but with fear.

Cleaner 01 was only a scout. As Jin looks at the sky through the hangar's hole, he sees twelve more white silhouettes descending through the red grid.
