WILLA
I arrived at Kol's in under ten minutes, thanks again to Verah and her latest fling.
This time, Kol was already waiting outside.
"You look great," he said, his gaze sliding down my outfit.
"Thanks," I mumbled.
I'd changed out of Verah's clothes into a soft pink ruffle dress with cap sleeves that fell just above my knees—much more appropriate for a casual outing.
He led the way, opening the door. I followed him inside. The second I closed it behind me, I heard her voice.
"You returned!"
I jolted, looking up to see his mother standing right there. I thought she had left. I shot Kol a quick glance, he just shrugged.
I groaned internally and forced a bright smile as she grabbed my hand, pulling me further into the room.
"Don't worry, I'll be out of your hair soon. I'm not here to stay forever, and you kids are free to do whatever you want," she rushed out.
