WILLA POV
"What happened to your eyes?" Kol asked as soon as we met outside the wide parking lot.
I groaned, pushing my sunglasses down to hide the dark circles underneath. I turned to look at him through the tinted lenses. His face was etched with concern.
"Your sister happened," I muttered.
Kol grimaced. "I'm so sorry."
I snorted and gave a slight shrug. It wasn't his fault. And maybe it was partly mine for choosing to stay awake all night.
It was either that or waking up in a casket—because every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing her shoving me into one.
It didn't help that she snored like a chainsaw. Yep. My ears were still ringing and slightly traumatized from what I'd endured last night.
"Good thing you're riding with me," he said, leading me toward the car.
I nodded. It was. When Mrs. Archer had suggested it, I hadn't waited a second to think. I'd jumped on the offer immediately, surprising even myself.
