Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: the unexpected

DAMN, I'm going to be late for my date. I really hope she's not mad at me for this. A man could be seen rushing around while his entire attire looked like it had been put together at the last minute, WHILE HE WAS rushing around. HE quickly grabbed his car keys while he was still rushing towards the door of his apartment. He quickly rushed towards his car, his tie hanging loosely around his neck, some of his shirt's buttons unbuttoned, and the jacket hanging in his hand.

He quickly got into his car, fixed up his appearance a little, started his car, and rushed off. This was Victor. He didn't know anything about his parents, and he grew up in an orphanage. When he tried to investigate his parents, he found nothing, as they did not even exist in this world. He was disappointed by the result, but since he grew up without any parents, it did not bother him much.

The government helped pay for his school expenses until he was old enough to legally start part-time jobs. He had a brilliant mind that some people were always jealous of, and he always scored at the top of his class. He tried to apply for a scholarship for university, but sadly, he did not get the offer, so as a result, he used the money he gained from working part-time jobs to pay for the expenses.

And during this time, he met a girl. Her name was Evelyn, and she was among the most beautiful girls at school. Their meeting could only be described as a coincidence. They apparently met at a bookstore, and they both were looking for novels; that's how they met, and since then, they started talking, and later became friends. That's how their relationship started.

Victor floored the gas as the car sped off like a robot, and he didn't mind at all that he was running red lights; all he cared about was that he was late, and he knew that she hated to wait, and she would be very upset if he made her wait. Every time he was late, she would call to complain, but surprisingly, he did not receive her call. This made him wonder if there was something wrong, but he quickly pushed that thought aside and focused on driving so he would not crash.

15 minutes later, he arrived and, clearly in a hurry, randomly parked his car in a hurry and hurriedly got out. He looked around and found the shop she had suggested, and he hurriedly walked there. Upon arriving at the door, he opened it, and he instantly found her graceful figure sitting near the window with the sunlight illuminating her magnificent figure, with her hair slightly waving in the gentle wind present in the room.

She wore a white dress while her eyes were covered in black sunglasses that hid her pale gold eyes. I stood there, stunned, looking at her glorious figure in awe and shock. This was apparently my girlfriend, and even I could not believe this. Sometimes, I would wake up thinking that this was all a dream, and I would someday wake up from it. That never happened. I nervously walked up to her table and stood in front of her for a few seconds.

She was apparently staring outside the window at the time, and as if recognizing my existence, she slowly turned her head to face my direction. My heart instantly skipped a beat when our eyes met, even though hers were concealed in glasses. Her expression was neutral, and she chose not to say anything but just stared at me. I knew she was mad, and that made me panic inwardly.

As I quietly sat down and looked at her face, the feeling I had earlier came back, but tenfold this time. My heart raced, and before I could say anything, she spoke first, "You're late." Those were the words that came out of her delicate mouth. She used to say the same words every time I was late, but this time her tone sounded different; it had an indifferent tone to it, like she was addressing a stranger.

And before I could process where this was going, she said again, "Anyway, that's what I did not call you for today." Alarm bells rang in my head, and while I was still in a daze, she finished her sentence by saying, "Let's break up".
