Glossary (Spoilers ahead)

Global Power Structure and Introduction:

When dimensional portals opened hundreds of years ago, mana and monsters flooded the world and permanently altered its laws. Humans who awakened abilities developed a Mana Core within their bodies, granting them various supernatural powers. This became the foundation of all extraordinary growth. Strength is determined through a combination of combat capability and innate quality.

Power is evaluated through two parallel systems.

1. Rank System, which measures combat strength.

2. Grade System, which measures quality, talent, and growth potential.

This dual structure ensures that strength and potential are not always identical.

II. Dual Evaluation Systems

A. Rank System (Combat Tier)

E Rank

D Rank

C Rank

B Rank

A Rank

S Rank

SS Rank

SSS Rank — this is the highest possible rank and remains purely historical. No entity recorded in history has ever reached it, at least according to the available resources in the world.

The same applies to the SS Rank, but the possibility of a historic level entity (human/monsters/beasts) existing remains open. This uncertainty is what led to the recognition of these two higher ranks.

B. Grade System (Quality Tier)

Iron Grade

Bronze Grade

Silver Grade

Gold Grade

Platinum Grade

Diamond Grade

Mythril Grade

Celestial Grade

Eternal Grade

Note: There has been no recorded individual above Diamond Grade so far. Ahem. Who knows?

Portals, Monsters, and Beasts are also classified through the Rank system. However, portals do not possess a Grade classification. For Monsters and Beasts, the Grade depends on their Bloodline. For example, a Goblin may possess a Silver Grade, which means every entity belonging to the Goblin bloodline shares that same Grade. Their Grade is therefore fixed.

Humans, however, can possess different Grades despite belonging to the same species. Because of this, Grades are often considered more significant than Ranks.

III. Monster and Beast Hierarchy and Class

Monsters and Beasts evolve through structured stages of authority and dominance. Beasts are generally more complex because they follow strict evolutionary pathways determined by their Bloodline. Information regarding those pathways will be revealed as the story progresses.

The Monster Classes are as follows:

Normal Class

Elite Class — these are potential mid bosses within a portal, and several may appear in a single portal.

Commander Class — these are potential bosses capable of commanding armies of monsters.

Lord Class

Monarch Class

Calamity Class — these can essentially be regarded as the final bosses of reality, dream worlds, portals, and nearly every form of life.

Note: Portals function like miniature constructed worlds with specific conditions that must be fulfilled before they can be closed. One may imagine them as doors that require keys. Entering them is simple. Anyone can step inside, hunter or not. However, the conditions required to close them must still be satisfied.

There are also anomaly portals. These contain endless hordes of monsters. Despite their infinite nature, the monsters inside are still restricted by the portal's rank. An E Rank Portal will only contain E Rank monsters and beasts. Even so, endless hordes remain extremely dangerous. Their numbers alone can become overwhelming.

IV. Soul Weapons and Items

Soul Weapons follow the same Rank structure as combat strength, although they do not possess Grades. Their classifications range from E Rank to S Rank, with S Rank being the highest known level for weapons.

These weapons are among the few tools capable of inflicting damage on monsters and beasts aside from Abilities.

Spoiler Alert. Code Red below!

Items also possess classifications similar to Soul Weapons. However, there are cases where an Item does not receive an official rank. This usually occurs when such an Item is granted by an extremely powerful entity or something occupying the very top of the power hierarchy.

V. Ability System

Abilities are classified by Tier based on rarity, conceptual depth, and potential.

Common Tier

Uncommon Tier

Rare Tier

Epic Tier

Legendary Tier

Mythic Tier

Transcendent Tier

Note: Abilities can evolve when specific conditions are fulfilled. This means a Common Tier ability could eventually grow into an Epic Tier ability if developed far enough. The process is extremely demanding, which is why most individuals eventually abandon such ambitions and instead focus on earning their livelihood and maintaining the celebrity lifestyle often associated with hunters.

VI. Flaws

Spoiler Alert. Code Void. This is currently the most dangerous spoiler.

This mechanic is inspired by a familiar concept, although it functions differently here. Flaws are connected to the phrase "With great power comes great responsibility." That phrase essentially defines the nature of a Flaw.

Not everyone in the world possesses a Flaw. In fact, the existence of Flaws is largely unknown to the general population. Only powerful individuals and the rare few who possess them are aware of their existence, particularly among the newer generations.

Additional information regarding Flaws will be revealed later.

***

There is still a vast amount of information intentionally excluded here to prevent major spoilers. However, it can be said that this world possesses a massive and evolving structure.

Volume One, Pathway of the Stars, may initially appear somewhat familiar and restricted to common genre routes, but it is merely a foundation designed to prepare for far greater and more unexpected conflicts. The scale of the story expands far beyond what can currently be explained.

This glossary will continue to be updated as the story progresses.
