The night of Christmas Eve was full of colors.
The city had never looked this beautiful all year.
Ravin rode his bicycle through the streets.
Colorful lights decorated the Christmas trees, and the sound of carols filled the air.
People were smiling, celebrating… yet to him, it felt like he was riding through nothing but darkness.
The darkness inside him made even the brightest lights of the city feel dark.
He kept riding, his hands cold against the metal handles, his breath turning into mist in the freezing air.
Laughter echoed around him, families walked together, and couples stood close to each other under glowing lights.
But none of it reached him.
After a while, Ravin slowed down and stopped near a bridge.
He got off his bicycle and stood there quietly.
Beside him, a young couple was kissing each other.
The boy pulled back slightly and said softly,
"Tomorrow, on Christmas, I'll take you to the beach. It's going to be so much fun."
For some reason, there were tears in his eyes.
"Oh my God, I'm so excited! But why are there tears in your eyes?" the girl said gently. "Let me wipe them."
She wiped his tears and hugged him tightly.
Ravin watched them for a moment…
…and smirked.
After a few minutes, the snowfall grew heavier.
The wind became colder, and the road slowly disappeared under layers of white.
Ravin looked up at the sky.
"Oh no… it's snowing so heavily now. I can't go anywhere at this time. I should find a place to spend the night."
He looked around and then glanced beneath the bridge.
There was just enough space for someone to lie down.
"Okay…" he muttered to himself, "it's going to be hard, but let every bad thing happen today itself."
Ravin took his bicycle under the bridge and parked it beside him.
He placed his bag under his head as a pillow and slowly lay down on the cold ground.
The concrete was freezing.
The sound of distant carols echoed faintly from above, mixing with the quiet fall of snow.
Ravin closed his eyes, but his mind refused to stay still.
Tears slowly formed in his eyes.
"What will I do now?" he whispered.
"I abandoned my mother… Where will I go? An orphanage? Where…?"
He scratched his head in frustration, a mix of regret and anger building inside him.
There were no answers.
Only silence.
After a while, exhaustion took over…
…and he slowly fell into a deep sleep.
While Ravin lay under the bridge, shivering in the cold of the early morning…
Meanwhile, at home—
"Yeah, you heard it right. He left the house."
She sat on the man's lap, calmly sipping her coffee.
The man looked at her in surprise.
"I didn't expect that," he said.
"Well, I don't know much about him. I only saw him yesterday in the classroom."
He paused for a moment.
"But I was surprised when you invited me this early in the morning… now I understand the reason."
He continued hesitantly,
"Umm… well, anyway, you're living alone now. So I was thinking maybe I could stay here with you. I don't even have a wif—"
"Shut the fuck up!"
She snapped before he could finish.
Her voice turned cold and sharp.
"You are nothing but another customer for me. You're not staying here."
She leaned slightly closer, her eyes filled with irritation.
"And if you say that again, I'll never take you as a client. There are others who are willing to pay twice as much as you do."
The man immediately fell silent.
The scene shifted back to the bridge.
Ravin was still lying there under the cold concrete, lost in a deep sleep.
Snow continued to fall, slowly covering the ground around him.
Minutes passed.
Then…
The faint sound of footsteps echoed in the quiet.
A figure approached, leaving deep footprints in the snow.
Step… step… step…
The figure slowly came closer to Ravin.
He stopped right beside him and looked
down.
Ravin didn't move.
He was completely unaware.
The man crouched down slowly.
A gloved hand moved toward Ravin's face.
Within moments, Ravin's breathing grew heavier… then still.
Without making a sound, the man lifted him effortlessly, as if he had done this many times before.
The snow continued to fall, quietly covering the footprints beneath the bridge.
And just like that…
Ravin disappeared into the night.
