Chapter 22 - Black Carpet

Luna emerged from the room wearing the dress. Lukas was speaking to one of the other maids, an Orc, who was more serious, and the second Luna had seen that spoke to him without a blush.

Then Lukas turned towards her.

Luna's breath caught. She stared down at him, stunned momentarily. All of the information that she had just learned slipped out of her brain, and she just stared.

His intense eyes burrowed into her, and she didn't even try to hold herself back from shuddering. She let the shiver run through her body, and followed it with a smile. Lukas was not just watching her. He was devouring her with his eyes. Every flick of his pupils sent a small shock through Luna, and she slowly gulped in breath after breath of air, one at a time.

One foot before the other. One foot before the other.

Luna slowly walked towards him. She saw no movement in his chest as she approached, but when she reached out and touched his arm, it gave a sharp heave. His single heavy breath brushed through her eyebrows and although she might have imagined it, she felt a hint of cold over her lips, as though her lipstick was still wet.

"Hello, Lukas," she murmured. His eyes darkened, and he leaned forward, reaching his other arm out and looping it loosely around her waist.

"What's gotten you into this mood?" He growled, stepping closer. Luna didn't back down, but she did blush furiously. That was a good question. What exactly had gotten her into this mood?

"I don't know," she admitted. "Just the sight of you, I suppose."

"That's a dangerous thing to say," he murmured. Luna nodded, then she leaned her forehead against his chest, letting a shaky breath out. His other arm wrapped around her back.

"Ready to go?" He asked her. Luna nodded against him.

She didn't ask where they were going. It didn't really matter that much.

Tonight she would have her first real experience as her new self.

As Lukas's.

He took her arm and led her carefully through a series of doors and down a large flight of stairs back into the massive foyer that she had first entered into.

Outside, they entered a carriage, and began on their way towards whatever new experience this would be.

Luna had no idea what would happen when they got there. But if there were high nobles there, then it was bound to be something both terrifying and incredible.

Luna looked up at Lukas. His eyes were still on her.

"We have arrived, master," someone called from outside. Lukas stood as much as he could, which still left him hunched over. He was too tall for the carriage, much too tall. He reached out a hand to her and lifted her up against him. She didn't resist.

Lukas carried her out of the carriage with a single hand under her ass holding her up, using the other one to push open the door. As they emerged, Luna gaped.

The sky above... It was never quite so beautiful in Alaxia. There were less forges here, because many Lycans preferred to use their animal forms rather than weapons, and many implements that they used for other things, such as the knives, spoons, forks, cups, bowls, and plates used for eating, were given as tributes from other races' lands.

That meant that the stars were much clearer. All around, they shone brightly, like blessings falling from the sky to rain on their head. The ground underneath them was dark enough that although the stones shone slightly, she felt as though she was swimming in a void of nothing. There was nothing but the light of the stars, the strength of Lukas's arm, and the warmth of her body.

Lukas set her down, and she immediately pressed closer to his side. He slipped one of his arms around under hers, resting on her opposite thigh.

Then together they walked forward, towards the large silhouette that began to loom out of the shadows before them, slowly blacking out more and more stars the closer they got. As they approached up the stone lane, there were more and more people swarming in around them from other directions. But every single one of them kept their distance.

No one was willing to approach Lukas Warwick and his new prize. But Luna intended to be much more than just a prize.
