After the Sonic Rainboom incident, Aurora spent a relatively stable and peaceful period.
However, Sunset Shimmer was very interested in the rainbow and the explosion that occurred on the day of Twilight Sparkle's entrance exam, and since then, she had been conducting investigations whenever she had time.
Although Aurora knew the inside story, she didn't intend to tell Sunset Shimmer the truth directly. She was just waiting to see what kind of expression Sunset Shimmer would make when she finally traced it to the end and discovered that such a massive commotion was actually caused by a Pegasus younger than them flying too fast, creating a sonic boom.
On the other hand, after Twilight Sparkle enrolled, she had to dedicate herself to intense coursework while also taking care of Spike, which often kept her extremely busy.
Sometimes Twilight Sparkle had to take the swaddled Spike to class with her. It was fine if Spike happened to be fed and sleeping, but once he started crying, it became a rather headache-inducing classroom accident.
Fortunately, with the assistance of her two senior sisters, Aurora and Sunset Shimmer, as well as their teacher Celestia, they would take care of Spike whenever Twilight Sparkle couldn't find the time due to her class schedule. This division of labor helped Twilight Sparkle get through her initial adjustment period after enrollment quite smoothly.
Because their different grade levels led to different study schedules, Twilight Sparkle didn't often meet with Aurora and Sunset Shimmer while at school, at least not during breaks.
But when Princess Celestia had time to teach students at the school, Sunset Shimmer or Aurora would be present as teaching assistants.
During one chemistry class, Aurora had the privilege of coming to Twilight Sparkle's class.
Twilight Sparkle's classmates included Lyra Heartstrings, Octavia Melody, Lemon Heart, Minuette, and Twinkleshine; they were all ponies Aurora had known before, though they had lost touch after Aurora skipped a grade, but they were very happy to see each other in class again.
To this day, Aurora still hadn't figured out how Lemon Heart got her head stuck in an Erlenmeyer flask. After trying many methods to pull Lemon Heart's head out without success, a losing-patience Aurora finally used Teleportation Magic to help Lemon Heart get free.
Returning to Spike. One piece of good news was that the newborn Spike was not a picky eater.
Although he was a very rare dragon born within Equestria, he was able to adapt to the food that ponies ate, thanks to the unique dragon stomach that could digest even gems and metal.
At first, Aurora and the others worried whether feeding a dragon like this would cause him malnutrition, but after observing for a period of time, they found that he didn't show any abnormal reactions, and his weight was increasing as the days went by, which gradually put their minds at ease.
The only thing that gave the ponies a headache was that, as a young dragon, Spike couldn't control his instincts very well at this stage, which caused him to breathe fire uncontrollably at times. Thanks to him, the three sister-disciples were now quite skilled at using fire-extinguishing magic.
However, having to perform these surprise fire drills a few times every day was bound to make the ponies feel annoyed. But what else could they do? Spike was, after all, just a Little Dragon Baby; besides slowly guiding and educating him, there were no shortcuts.
Although the two friends of different species, Twilight Sparkle and Spike, would occasionally drive each other to a breakdown due to their differences and lack of synchronization, after recovering from bad moods, Twilight Sparkle would still continue to take responsible care of Spike, and Spike would also become more docile than he was during his last tantrum.
