Dorian ran frantically, heart hammering in his chest, glancing back to see Sol Mirek walking casually, unhurried, as if toying with a mouse.
"Damn it!" Dorian scrambled onto the roller coaster, turning to shout at Sol, "Do you dare to fight me to the death at the very top?!"
He needed the terrain advantage, or he would not survive this encounter.
Sol looked up at the towering track, a faint smile tugging at his lips. Finally, something interesting.
"Alright, let's play."
He leaped onto the starting car with light, effortless grace, landing opposite Dorian.
Boom, rumble, rumble. The roller coaster growled and began its slow ascent.
"Brat, I don't care if I die here today," Dorian said with a wild grin. "I want to see your strength at this height, where a single mistake means death. One wrong move and you'll be smashed to pieces!"
His voice carried over the wind, full of manic delight. Facing life-or-death danger, a young martial artist like Sol might panic—perhaps without moving, he would fall on his own.
The coaster crested its highest point, the entire Tokyo skyline sprawled below them like a glittering carpet. For a fleeting moment, the city's lights looked almost romantic.
Sol stood slowly, black training uniform flapping in the wind, body steady as if he were still on solid ground.
"This is the stage you chose?" His voice was calm, hands casually in his pockets.
Hahaha! Dorian laughed, wild and unhinged. "Let's see how long you can stay calm when a single mistake kills!"
The coaster plunged. The sudden weightlessness lifted Dorian slightly, and he lunged at Sol with a gleaming blade.
Clang!
Sol trapped the blade between two fingers. Wind whipped their hair, but he didn't falter.
"Too slow." He flicked his wrist, shattering the blade.
Dorian's pupils constricted. Before he could react, a powerful punch drove him backward. He crashed through the safety barrier, plummeting toward the rides below.
Snap! Sol caught Dorian by the ankle, holding him hundreds of meters in the air.
"Boring. Let's try this." Sol spun him, hurling Dorian into a 360-degree loop while the coaster hurtled beside them.
Dorian twisted through the air, weightless, about to crash, when Sol caught him again, landing nimbly on the high track. Both now stood above the coaster, facing the roaring train.
"You're crazy! Get out of the way! I don't want to die with you!" Dorian shouted, realizing he had provoked a force beyond comprehension.
Sol exhaled calmly, stepped forward, and launched Dorian into the coaster's path, hand open as the train bore down.
Boom!
The coaster screeched, metal twisting under Sol's grip. He held it at bay, gradually pushing back the massive momentum, until finally, the entire train screeched to a halt on the track.
Dorian, suspended in the air, eyes wide with disbelief, trembled.
"This… this is impossible," he stammered, then collapsed in wild laughter. "Hahaha! You're not human! You're a demon! A monster!"
"Whatever you say," Sol replied, pouting playfully as he jumped onto the coaster car, grabbed Dorian's ankle, and sent him spinning through the air again.
After several high-altitude throws and catches, Dorian's mind broke. Eyes rolling, white foam at his mouth, pants soaked, he was beyond reason.
"Uh… this time it shouldn't be faked, right?" Sol scratched his head and landed a final punch on the back of Dorian's head.
Then he dropped from the hundred-meter height, landing with a thud that barely suggested the distance.
Below, Retsu Kaioh, Doppo, and Katsumi stood dumbfounded, staring at Sol.
He casually threw the frothing Dorian onto the ground, dusting off his hands. "Resolved."
He gave the unconscious man a light kick, as if swatting a mosquito.
Retsu Kaioh gaped at Dorian, utterly defeated. "This…"
"Oh, he's probably just scared out of his mind," Sol shrugged.
Doppo Orochi stepped forward, eyes conflicted. "The roller coaster…"
"Oh, that?" Sol glanced at the twisted train. "The repair costs won't be cheap. I'll contact the Tokyo Police Department later." He patted Doppo on the shoulder.
Katsumi Orochi swallowed. "Sol… you don't need to compensate us. We only wanted to ask about being on the track just now…"
"Hmm, the scenery is nice," Sol said. "Tokyo's night view is beautiful."
The three exchanged glances, unsure how to respond.
Retsu Kaioh was the first to recover. "Anyway… Sol, thank you for your mercy. I will arrange your return for training as soon as possible."
"You're welcome," Sol said, checking his phone. "It's late. Time for me to sleep." He waved and walked toward the amusement park's exit.
Retsu Kaioh sighed softly. "What a terrifying martial artist…"
"Indeed," Doppo nodded. "I wonder if he's even of this world. Luckily, he's on our side."
Katsumi Orochi suddenly kicked the unconscious Dorian. "Should we call an ambulance?"
"I'll handle it. He was once a Kaioh too," Retsu Kaioh replied.
