Chapter 138 - 138: Monster Cells

Tanktop Master suddenly spoke. "By the way, what exactly was written on the note that monster left? Why did you destroy it, Tornado?"

Tornado's body stiffened immediately, and a flash of panic crossed her green eyes. "W what does that have to do with you? It was just some stupid provocation."

Bang looked back and forth between Tornado and Sol, his expression growing serious. "Tornado, if there was anything unusual, you should say it. It concerns my disciple."

"There was nothing. Nothing at all." Tornado's voice rose sharply. She floated over to Sol, grabbed his collar, and said, "The meeting is over, right? Rookie, we're leaving."

Before anyone could say anything else, she dragged him out of the room. As Sol passed Bang, he gave his teacher a calm, reassuring look.

After they left, the meeting room fell silent.

Child Emperor adjusted his glasses. "Tornado Senpai's reaction was too strange."

Zombieman lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. "That note Tanktop Master mentioned was definitely not simple."

Superalloy Darkshine scratched his head. "Did the monster threaten Sol? Is that why Tornado is acting like that?"

Tanktop Master shook his head. "Doesn't feel like a threat. If it really was one, she would have said it so everyone could think of a solution together."

Ever since he was hit by Ashura, he felt like his mind worked faster than before. If he ever got the chance, he actually wanted to talk to that monster again. It did not feel like a bad guy at all.

Bang stroked his beard slowly, his brows tightly furrowed. "I have a bad feeling about this. Things are not that simple."

On the other side, Tornado pulled Sol all the way to the rooftop of the association building before finally stopping.

"We almost exposed it. Monster cells were injected into your body. Monster cells!" She released his collar, her green hair fluttering violently.

Sol calmly straightened his collar. "Your reaction is too intense. That only makes it more suspicious."

Tornado floated to the edge of the rooftop and turned her back to him. Her shoulders trembled slightly.

"If those people find out, they will definitely lock you in a laboratory and use you for research."

Her voice dropped lower and lower. "The laboratory is terrifying. It really is terrifying…"

Sol looked at her small figure for a moment, then slowly walked forward. "Tornado…"

"Don't talk." She suddenly turned around, her hair lifting again, but her eyes were slightly red. "Who told you to come closer? Stay away from me."

Sol stopped immediately and stood quietly where he was.

When Tornado saw that he really did not come closer, her hair moved slightly, and after a few seconds she floated over by herself.

"Idiot. Don't you know how to comfort someone? I took such good care of you."

"I just told you not to come closer, not to stand that far away either." Her voice became softer and softer, and she looked away awkwardly.

Sol watched the girl who was usually arrogant but now looked unusually fragile. His voice softened a little. "Tornado, thank you."

"Hmph." She immediately turned her face away, and the tips of her ears turned red. "Who wants your thanks? I just don't want the association to lose a strong hero. That's all."

The wind on the rooftop messed up her curly hair. Without thinking, Sol reached out to fix it, but Tornado jumped back instantly.

"What are you doing?"

"Sorry." Sol withdrew his hand and smiled lightly. "Your hair was messy."

A trace of panic flashed through her eyes. She quickly fixed her hair with her psychic power. "Mind your own business."

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

Tornado floated at the edge of the rooftop again, her expression returning to her usual tsundere look. "Idiot Rookie. Who allowed you to touch me like that?"

Sol looked at her red eyes that she was trying so hard to hide, and the corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "Alright. Next time I will ask first."

"Hmph." Tornado floated in front of him again and stared directly at him. "There will not be a next time. Also, from today onward, you are not allowed to leave my sight. Not even for a moment."

Sol raised an eyebrow, amused. "Not even for a moment? What about showering and going to the bathroom?"

"You!" Her ears turned completely red and her hair bristled. "Pervert. What are you even thinking about all day?"

She turned away quickly, her voice becoming much softer. "J just wait outside the door. You are still not allowed to leave my sight…"

Sol looked at her red ears and suddenly found her reaction very entertaining. "Then what about sleeping? Do we have to stay together too?"

A powerful force suddenly slammed him against the rooftop railing.

Tornado floated in front of him, her hair moving without wind. "If you say one more stupid thing, I will throw you off this roof."

Even so, Sol could tell she was controlling her power perfectly. She had not actually hurt him at all.

"Alright, I will stop joking." His expression became more serious. "What are you planning to do about the monster cells in my body?"

As soon as the topic changed, Tornado's expression turned serious too. She stared directly at him.

"I will find a way to remove them."

Her voice softened again. "Until then, I will keep watching you."

Sol looked at the girl who was much smaller than him but still tried to stand proudly in front of him. Even though she was acting tough, he still felt a strange warmth in his chest.

"Thank you."

"I already told you not to thank me." She turned her face away again. "I just don't want the association to lose an excellent hero."

Meanwhile, in a wilderness outside Z City, the demons had gathered together.

Muzan's pale face looked unusually serious. "Lord Ancestor ordered us to retreat immediately last night. What kind of enemy could release such terrifying energy that even Lord Ancestor became cautious?"

Kokushibo stood silently in the shadows, his six eyes glowing faintly. "I felt at least four powerful presences. Every single one of them was far stronger than us. One of them was especially terrifying."

Even he could not help feeling uneasy. That overwhelming power felt almost the same as Lord Ancestor.

Gyokko poked his head out of his pot and spoke in a sharp voice. "Anyone who can make Lord Ancestor this cautious must be extremely dangerous."

"Quiet," Muzan said coldly, but a trace of unease still appeared in his eyes. "Lord Ancestor's strength is beyond imagination. However, the energy from last night was indeed abnormal."

Daki pulled lightly on her brother's sleeve. "Brother, do you think that enemy could be stronger than Lord Ancestor?"

Gyutaro immediately covered her mouth. "Stop talking nonsense."

Akaza crossed his arms, his golden eyes filled with fanatic devotion. "How could anyone be stronger than Lord Ancestor? If he told us to find him tonight, it means the enemy is already dealt with."

Muzan slowly looked at all of them. "Be quiet. Since Lord Ancestor has summoned us, there must be an important arrangement. The most important thing now is to hide properly and avoid being discovered by the powerful people in this world."

In the corner, Hantengu trembled nonstop.

"This world is terrifying. Everything here is terrifying."
