Of course, there was still the matter of the air conditioning container.
She still hadn't fixed the qi bleed issue. As much as she tried, the perfect loop would never come. At some point in the process, the qi she infused into the container would leave.
And this would remain on Katarina's mind even when she was actually attending classes. Like now, in Pelegatta's class as he discussed the cultural factors that might pop up between valdari-dwarf negotiations, all she could think about was air conditioning.
"Now, keep in mind that whenever you do trade with the dwarves..." And on and on went Pelegatta's voice while all Katarina could hear was her own voice going:
[How the FUCK do I get this qi to stay in the container?] She paused. [Okay, the previous solution, before all that kidnapping stuff happened, was to find something for the qi to do... Maybe making it a two-part machine would result in more stability than what I'm trying to do now?]
