Dawn broke over the Obsidian Throne like a wound.
News of the king's "purification" spread through the palace like wildfire. Servants whispered in the corridors. Guards exchanged uneasy glances. The court, still recovering from the Convergence, sensed blood in the water and began circling like vultures.
Cairis sat on the Obsidian Throne, legs spread wide, one clawed hand drumming impatiently on the armrest. His eyes glowed with the old, familiar cold intensity — the same merciless stare that had once made enemies wet themselves before he even drew his claws. The warmth that Liora had coaxed into him over the past year was gone. In its place was the Demon King who had once hunted witches without mercy.
A group of high lords knelt before him.
"My King," Lord Draven began carefully, "the Hybrid Witch has clearly bewitched you for months. She must be executed immediately before her corruption spreads further."
