I sit on the walls. I watch as the messenger walks into the base. Him and the two commanders start talking. After a bit one of them calls everyone over. I hop down to see what this could all be about.
"Listen up! We are leaving the base, we will be marching west to meet up with the larger army!"
I look around everyone seems tense at best. Scout slowly puts her arm up
"What about the base?"
The commander's head snaps to her and she jumps a little. Their eyes narrow at me
"You and heat seeker will be staying here to hold it down"
She opens her mouth to argue but closes it when commander gives her a sharp look. I guess we'll be staying here while everyone else fights Prince.
I sit on the walls watching as everyone leaves. Scout climbs up sitting next to me
"Do you think we'll do well on our own?"
I nod of course I do. She's a good scout and I'm powerful enough to scare just about anything we may find around off.
"I hope so as well"
But there's also prince, I think he's already doing something at the moment so I doubt he will appear, but I'm sure he has something planned. That guy seemed to love his plans. I hand her the PTV book.
"Oh, thank you"
She starts reading through it happily. She doesn't get those words but she does understand the pictures. I've been letting her look through it because she seems to like it.
I sit at the empty mess hall. I watch as scout cooks some soup.
"Really, where did you even get all this stuff"
I tilt my head
"I know you can't talk but, like all of these ingredients have to be very valuable."
I nod their very expensive. Not that it matters much.
I flip a ice knife in my hand and I start throwing them at a ice wall. So far so good, nothing has happened yet. And i say yet. I'm quite sure prince has some way to keep me tied down while he does whatever he's planning this time. Soon scout puts down a bowl and I start eating.
"Is it good?"
I nod, its a lot better then what they've been feeding us. I'm almost glad they left for a while.
I hold onto scout
"I'm ready"
She holds onto me tightly. I active my cloak and I start jumping up. Once I get high enough scout actives her aspect and starts looking around. From what I can tell it's like Kai's aspect, the eyesight part at least. She grabs onto me tightly, her voice is quiet
"Go back down."
It takes a bit but when I land I notice a expression of dread
"There was a horrid creature, there was a bunch of weaker smaller ones around it."
A tyrant? I'll probably be able to beat it, but it would be better to just evacua-
"It was like a massive spider."
Nope I'm killing it. I nod and I nod to the entrance
"You don't mean- you want to fight that thing?!"
We ride over the hills, I get to the edge of a island making a simple bridge over the gap and I roll forwards.
"What's even the plan here?"
She's just panicking speaking to herself. I finally get to a good spot. I look down at the small forest it's absolutely covered in spider webs. I crouch down, its a awakened tyrant it seems. I stretch summoning the valor daggers and my ice shards. I put my hand up to scout, stay.
"Aren't you sure this is a good idea."
I nod. If I can fight toe to toe with a fallen tyrant, a awakened one shouldn't be too hard.
I run forward jumping above the small forest, its more of a cluster of trees if anything. I fall down landing right in the middle as I do the while thing freezes over.
All of the dormant beasts die because of it, the tyrant itself survives. I jump to the side as the tree i was standing on is destroyed by the tyrant. I skate to the side of im attacked. I make a set of chains wrapping it around of its legs and I use it's own momentum to pull it off.
The tyrant bites at me but is slammed by flame who just got here as it goes to attack its legs are bound by chains. I move forward cutting into its eye with a dagger i pull the knife up cutting through it and right through its head. It goes limp finally
[You have slain awakened tyrant, fallen queen of spiders.]
[You have received an echo]
I start hopping up and down i got a echo, another echo after so long! Yeah fuck yeah! It's a spider echo.... its a awakened tyrant! I tie the body to flame and we leave the frozen spider nest.
"Holy.... thats massive!"
She looks the tyrant over. I grin under my helmet proud of myself. I killed it all by myself.
"I can't believe this, how long has this been here...?"
I shrug, the little forest has hills all around it hiding it.
"And this cut, that dagger set, it has to be incredibly sharp"
I stretch
"Well its about time to go back"
I nod.
It takes a while before we get to the base flame goes with scout to make dinner. I watch the sunset from the walls. Singer floats up and sits next to me
"It's quite pretty"
I nod it really is
"I'm glad I can see it every day"
That's a little odd but yeah I agree I am glad I can see it every day. After a while scout climbs up too, flame sits by the walls. She hands me and singer a bowl and we start eating. She leans on me looking up into the slowly darkening sky.
I go out to practice skating this time scout comes with me. She starts slipping on the ice.
"Woah, what are you even doing"
I laugh grabbing her hands i turn her shoes into skates and with my help she finally is able to stand up straight. I hold her hands and I slowly start skating. She looks down and starts trying to mimic it. Its shaky but she's doing it. We start going faster but soon she slips forward falling in top of me. I look down a little surprised we make eye contact and we start laughing together.
Should I turn it into a ice shard? I mean I need the power that would give but... its still a spider. I look up into the night sky, it'd the best choice, if I'm right that prince is going to attack, or is at least watching me. Then I'll need the power, I can't be picky now can I? Plus maybe it will help me move on. I try to say
"Turn it into a ice shard"
I feel myself getting weaker but I hear the spell say
[You have created a ice tyrant: fallen queen of spiders]
I sigh finally deciding to go to bed. If I suddenly had three flying little ice shards behind me that would be suspicious. I reach back grabbing the new shard and I stuff it into my pocket.
"Everyone is back!"
I hold onto her tighter and I start moving towards the small shape of the rest of the base. Soon we land there's less people then what left. A good amount less. I put scout down, I know something went very wrong just by looking at them. She runs forward I only hear the tail end of what is said by the commander but it still stops me in my tracks
"-it killed a whole town"
