I sit with cassie, kicking my feet.

I glance at her

I mean yeah, i nod

I lean back. Wait the fallen devil i killed could kinda mimic voices maybe the memory it gave me can let me speak.

I look at cassie doing the happy thing
"I haven't been able to speak while4 whole time!"
Cassie smiles
"well its good you can speak now"

I ride on the islands tops, riding from islands from island going towards the sanctuary. There's a almost familiar weight behind me as cassie holds into me with that same nervousness scout had that first time.
"How did you even get a motorcycle in the dream realm, much less a nightmare?!"
I laugh
"i made it!"
Using a rock i make a large hop into the air
"Woooo!"

I finally stop cassie gets off and flops onto the ground
"i.... that was.... fast."
"Hah!"
I get off off the PTV and I lay on the grass. I then get off of the grass
"ew bugs"
"■■■■ never. Never ride like that with me on the bike"
I rub the back of my head
"sorry cassie I got excited"
"I can tell. Do you still have food in that satchel?"
I dig in my satchel
"yeah i do. It needs some warming up and some seasonings"
I look at her with a perfectly innocent expression
"if you can please season it"
She turns her head towards me with a deadpan expression
"you need to learn how to cook"
I set up two tents one for each of us
"hey Cassie what do the others look like?"
"Effie is a young girl, Kai is very burned, and sunny is a massive 4 armed shadow spawn."
I slowly turn my head to him
"I'm sorry someone hurt Kai?"
I slowly get up
"okay, okay, who am I killing?"
She shakes her head
"it's the dragon leader of the ivory city"
I laugh
"well then I'll make sure that scaled bastard dies slowly with everything he loves taken from him"
she turns her head away "aren't you overreacting?"
"Yup. I am but hell, do I seem like I care"
I fluff up my pillow, I smooth out my sleeping bag and I finally lay down. Wait sunny's a shadow spawn. I bolt out of my sleeping bag
"Cassie what the fuck do you mean sunny is a shadow spawn!?"
Cassie turns her head up with a confused expression
"did you only just realize that little part"
I sigh
"yeah, what do you mean he's a shadow spawn?"
"He is a 4 armed shadow spawn. Real tall, horns, gray skin, a tail all that"
I flop down
"Holy shit. I guess i was right. Damn."
"Right?"
I wave my hand
"yeah I was correct"
I finally get up and I go back to my own tent.
"Wait Effie is a child?"
Me and cassie start packing up
"so you're one of the eyeless, that's pretty cool their high ranking"
she nods
"Yeah so you're that moving ice sculpture that's been staying at one of the military bases"
I shove my sleeping bag into my satchel
"did you not know?"
She nods
"i already don't get many visions of you and I've only gotten one of you in the second nightmare"
she turns her head away
"oh yeah what was happening?"
She shakes it
"it... already happened. It was the.... fight with Mordret"
oh that bitch
"i kicked his ass. In the real world and in my soul sea. I've got this attribute, crown of snow. It let's dead allies appear in my soul sea. I can summon a few but not as many as are in my soul sea"
she nods
"so that's how in the battle for the crimson spire you summoned your past cohort?"
I nod
"yup. From what I can tell, it allows me to summon them at my level, but they don't seem to be able to gain new attributes or anything else. So their base stats went up but they gained no new aspect abilities."
Her face scrunchies a little
"that... that is very cool"
I get all proud, well somewhat proud
"yup, its incredibly powerful"
I slowly come to a stop cassie gets off
"don't worry it's just a fallen beast I got this cassie"
she nods
"don't do anything too stupid or impulsive"
I grin and I start speeding off
"no promises" I speed up making a ramp with ice to get into the air, the fallen beast, a wolf looking thing. I move off the PTV and double leg kick the ice PTV into it. When the two hit the PTV explodes into a storm of snow ripping it to pieces. I slide down and I get onto my feet
"killed it!"
I come to a stop
"I dealt with the last your turn"
she gets off walking forward it's a awakened monster this time. She walks forward her dress swaying behind her in the wind. She slowly draws quiet dancer when it gets close and attacks she with ease side steps it and stabs the thing right in the eye killing it. I lean on the handles
"nice one cassie"
She walks over getting on the PTV
"slow down a bit would you"
I grin
"what too fast for you"
she frowns at me
"yes. It very much is, slow down"
We finally stop when it's about to be night. I set up the tent while Cassie starts the fire.
"Hey so whats your awakened ability anyways?"
She lifts her head stopping for a second
"I can see a few seconds into the future"
I pitch cassie's tent
"thats very powerful I'm not shocked you one shotted a awakened monster then"
she nods
"it wasn't hard, but it takes a lot of experience to use correctly"
I start setting up my tent
"oh in a, its disorienting kind of way or its finicky kind of way?"
"Mostly disorienting a little hard to use as well"
I nod
"like heat sense"
Cassie grips my shoulder
"stop."
I slow down. Something was in her voice, its clearly that something just happened and it was tragic to her but I'm not sure what. she kneels down almost falling to her knees.
"So... So it was true..."
I kneel down next her.
"Cassie? Are you okay?"
I put my hand on her shoulder gently. She flinches turning her head to me. She puts her hand on mine and slowly and carefully removes it and stands up. She seems to hide all emotion her face
"The one in the north had died. No doubt due to Mordret"
she walks past
"are you okay cassie?"
She nods
"I'm fine we should get to moving again"
This feels wrong, but I don't know what to say.
"Okay i guess. We should get back to moving if you say so"
I stop for the night. Well this feels deeply awkward now. We go about the nightly routine in silence. The next day I get up to the smell of blood. I scramble out of the tent. I see cassie making breakfast as normal, next to the camp is a bunch of dead human bodies about 5 I'd say.
"Their soldiers from the ivory city. They tried to capture us."
Thats terrifying, very terrifying. I get out of the tent and I sit down politely
"can you grab that spatula?"
I grab it handing it to her quickly
"yes ma'am"
We ride together, notable slower then before. I slowly come to a stop
"its one of the eyeless and a ice statue?"
We get swords pointed at us. I sigh deeply, this is going to be really damn annoying
"stop! You two are coming with us for questioning"
Cassie gets off the PTV, drawing out quiet dancer. I get up summoning my daggers. We attack together, even if we haven't fought together in so long we attack in almost unison.
Cassie cleans off quiet dancer. I hand her a water bottle from my satchel. I tap a body with my foot
"I heard these guys sacrifice people to that dragon"
she turns her head up towards me
"yes. That's why kai was burned"
I sour, probably physically too.
"Do they even have to or is it something that damn dragon actually wants"
Its less of a question and more me being pissed off. I'm going to beat the hell out of that dragon, Saint be dammed.
We aren't too far from the sanctuary.
"Hey Cassie i need to check something can you go on without me for a bit?"
"That's... fine with me. Don't do anything dangerous"
I laugh
"yes yes I know. I won't go getting into any fights"
I slow down letting cassie get off.
"I'll meet you there"
she turns her head towards me
"you better"
I smile, finally driving off. I ride for a while before I get to a familiar spot. I look around before I dig into the ground.
"Hah."
There's a bunch of gold coins. I stuff them all into my satchel and I leave, not before I look around carefully.
I finally drive onto the very familiar island. I look out at the sanctuary. I keep driving forwards. Soon I sense a few very familiar heat signatures, well somewhat familiar. Like cassie's it's different enough to be hard to connect to the people i know but similar enough to be noticeable. I also sense a saint. A powerful one at that and a old one.
I slide next to cassie. I finally get off my PTV letting it crumble away. I notice the saint staring at me dumbfounded
"By the Moon... I guess I really need to improve my friend-making skills. Otherwise, I would not be able to call myself the friendliest man in all of the Kingdom of Hope anymore..."

I look past noticing a man with wooden skin who waves at me with a almost nervous politeness and a massive 4 armed demon.
