I sit on the walls with sunny and our cohorts. Sunny is preparing to create a memory when he stops grabs my hand and transfers a memory to me

"Oh you finished it"
He nods. I had demanded he make it into a memory after the blunder with the whole Caster situation. I kick my legs watching as a hoard of nightmare creatures approaches and is shot down. I summon the familiar cloak.
It feels nice to have it back. I swing my legs as I sit on the edge of the walls. I feel someone touching the cloak, I look over and its doll.
"So this is what it looks like..."
They've mentioned that everything that happened to me after the point they have memories to appeared in their mind like they read a book on it. That feels incredibly odd as a concept.
Sunny being weird. He went and grabbed something from a dead devil or maybe demon, I dont know. I think D killed it.
"Soooo. Gotten another core?"
Sunny shakes his head
"No you?"
I nod
"Yup, and I already have about 1200 more now"
He nods then looks back at me
"I'm starting to understand why you fight like that. Here i thought I was fast."
I shake me head
"I will not repeat the mistake I made during the fallen shores. I'll get so strong that no nightmare creature can stop me"
I go on my normal walk. I take one every few days as I do I feel two tiny hands grabbing mine
"Ascended, Ascended!"
I look down seeing that kid i helped find his mom. Hmm? Does he need help again? The mother jogs over
"Ascended Heat Seeker, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to help my son"
I'm about to say something about how I don't need thanks and its my job and all that when she holds up a large container of soup.
"Well because you insist...."
Later I am eating said soup with the cohort while they play cards.
"That is not how this works, we must stick by the rules" a
A hand gets slammed onto the fold out table
"And the game makers don't know a damn thing!"
I wonder what I should eat tomorrow
"Frankly its funnier when someone feels true fear as plus 4s add up"
Someone scoffs, I'm pretty full. I should take a nap
"Its always me too and its never funny. Unless it isn't me then it is very funny"
Someone sighs
"Pfft, its funny when it happens to anyone, they get hit with some real bs"
I hear a card placed down and everyone go silent
"....I win.... I guess"
I then climb into bed for a nap.
I sit on the walls as the sirens go off. I do a very good stretch as sunny gets here. Sunny and J talks for a little then the two walk over

I summon my new memory commanders authority. It was what I had gotten from the cursed tyrant, it seems to let others use a weaker version of my abilities. I hand it to her watching as the cloud approaches.
As it approaches i come to a unfortunate understanding. The reports where either wrong or somehow some way they have a new tyrant. They will also come to a unfortunate understanding. I am a ascended devil, and I have no intention of letting them cross into the city. W fires off her first shot, a explosion consumes countless of them, then snow seems to start devouring countless more reaching our like cursed hands to consume more of their corrupted lives.
Wind whips around tiny sharp ice shards ripping any that try to attack the city into tiny pieces as countless tiny glowing pieces of ice appear then explode within their cloud. I turn my head as a beast tries to get at someone within a MWP its stopped by a shield to the head. I turn back to the swarm, snow storm is eating at my essence like hungry beast, not like i use much essence anyways.
I get almost thrown off my feet.
"The.... the call?"
Some thing streaks past me in my slight haze of confusion. One of sunny's cohort members is hit, I burst forwards cutting the damn thing in two catching the poor fool. He's alive but.... knocked out and with the call so close.... he's going to have to deal with his second nightmare it seems. I throw him over my shoulder, ill protect him, I failed again it would seem.
I walk over to the big guy of sunny's cohort and I hand him the body of his teammate.
"I'm sorry"
He checks him over.
"Hes alive"
I nod sitting down
"Yeah if I was paying attention he wouldn't have been hit."
The two cohorts gathers around
"Uh... boss you where protecting a whole area of the city and giving part of your power to winter"
I look up my tone probably more irritated then it should be
"And? People under my watch still died, I still failed"
Tomorrow another shift. My echos are out killing as many things as possible, as always, mix that with my rapidly growing ice army, I make a lot a lot of shards per day even more so after I started giving them guns. Still, it isn't enough. I've patched up the wall, mostly, it took some time but my aspect helps a lot with it and with how cold Antarctica is the ice doesn't melt. Things are going to get worse, and fast at that but.... but I will try. I don't think I'll be enough.
