Red alarm lights bathed every grim face on the bridge in a bloody hue.
The piercing alarm sounded like a death knell, pounding frantically against everyone's eardrums.
"What should we do? Go to war against the Empire's strongest warriors?"
Valeria's question struck the dead silence like a heavy lead weight, making it hard to breathe.
Go to war?
With what?
The enemy is the Grey Knights, the Empire's ultimate trump card against demons; they are the Sisters of Silence, the natural bane of all Psykers.
A head-on fight is suicide.
"Execute irregular, continuous short-range jumps."
For the first time, Fogremia's flawless face lost its composure.
Her deep, beautiful purple eyes were fixed on the constantly flickering star map, and she gave the optimal solution with rapid-fire speed.
"This will maximize disruption to their tracking and buy us time."
"How much time can we buy?" Leticia's voice was terrifyingly calm.
Fogremia's fingertips paused slightly.
"...Three days at most. After three days, they will still be on our tail like hounds."
Three days.
It's just turning a death sentence into a stay of execution.
Angronia, standing behind Leticia, said nothing; she just silently wiped her battle-axe over and over again.
Those amber eyes, burning with Battle Intent, said it all.
If we can't win, we fight to the death.
This is the only way she knows how to respond to threats.
The air on the bridge solidified like an iron block.
Despair, like invisible vines, began to wrap around everyone's heart.
Leticia's gaze swept over the mortal crew members trembling with fear, and over the two Primarch Sisters who were already prepared to die.
Finally, her gaze fell upon the translucent system panel in front of her, visible only to her.
At the very top of the panel, a line of data was jumping frantically; it was the feedback of faith, surging in like a tide, brought about by the "purification" frenzy in their respective war zones after recruiting thirty-seven thousand Battle Sisters.
"Warband Points: 2,174,500"
An astronomical number that would drive any legion leader crazy.
But now, these points were like a pile of waste paper about to be devoured by flames.
Under the iron fist of the Empire, no amount of points could buy a way out.
Unless...
A thought, crazy to the extreme, struck Leticia's mind like lightning tearing through the night!
"Perhaps... the safest place doesn't belong to this time at all!"
Once this thought took root, it grew wildly like a wildfire, impossible to contain!
Leticia's eyes changed instantly.
The gravity and silence were replaced by a gambler's resolute heat!
"No."
She spoke softly, two words, yet they carried unquestionable weight.
"We will not run, nor will we fight."
Everyone on the bridge focused their gaze on her instantly.
A trace of confusion flashed in Fogremia's eyes, and Angronia stopped wiping her battle-axe.
Under their gaze, Leticia extended her finger and resolutely tapped on the option in the void that she had never touched lightly before.
"Historical Instance"
A brand-new interface, like an ancient star map, slowly unfolded before Leticia.
Countless names, each emitting different lights, were displayed quietly on the list.
[Battle of Terra] (Locked, requires prerequisites)
[Fall of Cadia] (Locked, requires prerequisites)
[Destruction of Baal] (Locked, requires prerequisites)
...
Leticia's gaze skipped directly over these grayed-out options and locked firmly onto the very top of the list.
It was the only one flickering with light, and the only one she was qualified to touch right now.
A name radiating pure golden light, filled with endless sorrow and holiness.
"Lament of Cygnus"
Leticia's consciousness touched it.
The next second, a detailed description of the instance appeared before her eyes like blood-colored text.
"Instance Name: Lament of Cygnus"
"Historical Node: 31st Millennium, mid-Horus Heresy"
"Core Character: Primarch of the Blood Angels, Sanguinius"
"Event Overview: Under the treacherous design of the traitor Horus, the most perfect warrior in The Galaxy, the Emperor's most beloved son—Sanguinius, leading his Blood Angels Legion, was lured to the demon-infested Cygnus system. Here, he will encounter a joint ambush by the Blood God Khorne and the lord of pleasure Slaanesh."
"Turning Point of Fate: Here, the Blood Angels Legion will for the first time experience a massive outbreak of the curse deep within their genes—the 'Black Rage'. Sanguinius will witness his proudest offspring, in their hallucinations, viewing him as the predicted traitor Horus, descending into irredeemable madness and fratricide. This extreme sorrow and helplessness will become the first crack to pierce his perfect soul, laying the irrevocable groundwork for his future fall on Terra."
Leticia's breath hitched.
Sanguinius!
The one who was as perfect as an angel, yet fell like a shooting star, one of the greatest "regrets" in the entire Warhammer universe!
The system's cold notification sound rang out at the right moment.
"Warning: This historical slice has been deeply corrupted by the two Chaos Gods, and its danger level is extremely high."
"Warning: Correcting Sanguinius's fate will cause a violent impact on the causality of the main universe, and the required Warband Points will be astronomical."
"Warband Points required to open the instance: 2,000,000 points."
Two million!
This was almost her entire fortune that she had just acquired!
Fogremia looked at the unpredictable expression on Leticia's face and couldn't help but ask: "Big Sister, you..."
Leticia did not answer her.
She just raised her head, her black eyes, deep as the night sky, sweeping over every Sister on the bridge who had entrusted their fate to her.
Their faces were full of confusion and fear, but more importantly, an unconditional, absolute trust.
As long as it was her order, they would not hesitate, even if it meant walking into hell.
This trust was as heavy as Mount Tai.
Leticia smiled.
It was a heartfelt, brilliant smile that shed all disguises and hesitation.
She stood up abruptly, her white robe fluttering without wind, and the unquestionable majesty belonging to a deity instantly filled the entire bridge!
"Sisters!"
Her voice was decisive, like a thunderclap, dispelling all the gloom!
"We will not run, nor will we fight."
"We are going... to invite a new Sister home!"
In the shocked gaze of everyone, Leticia stretched out her hand and pointed to the empty void, as if pointing to a brand-new, bright future!
"Are the Grey Knights very strong? Are the Sisters of Silence very scary?"
A curve full of confidence and madness curled up at the corners of her mouth.
"Then let them wait!"
"When we return, I want the entire Empire to open their eyes and see clearly!"
"We, the 'Genesis Sisterhood', are no longer fugitives they can hunt at will, nor are we heretics they are qualified to judge!"
The moment her words fell, she resolutely poured those two million Warband Points into the instance activation program!
A huge gamble!
This was the craziest gamble, staking everything she had!
It was both a helpless move to avoid the Empire's pursuit and a high-priced "investment" to trade for an explosive return capable of overturning the balance of power!
"Boom—!!!"
A massive power, indescribable in words, tearing through the laws of space and time, instantly erupted with the genesis at its center!
Golden light, mixed with bloody lamentations, turned into a huge space-time vortex, forcibly twisting and pulling the entire warship along with the surrounding starry sky!
Just as the vanguard of the Imperial fleet—that strike cruiser painted in gray, with a giant sword emblem engraved on its bow—had just leaped out of the Subspace and aimed its cold gun barrels at the genesis in the final second.
The genesis, along with the space around it, vanished into thin air after a violent flash of light.
Just as if it had never existed.
Leaving behind only a chaotic energy turbulence that had not calmed down for a long time due to the space-time upheaval.
...
The moment before being completely swallowed by the golden light, Leticia's voice was clearly transmitted through encrypted communication into the ears of Valeria and Katerina, who were far away on Saintess Star, responsible for coordinating the latent network.
"Enter absolute silence, preserve all strength, and wait for my signal."
"Wait for us..."
"...to return with the radiance of an angel."
