Inside the Video Store
"I'm finally back. The Carrot I have can only pinpoint exits that are relatively far away, so it took some extra time."
"Oh, right, I saw the news on my phone. The demolition time has been postponed."
"But those people probably still drove the vehicle away in the end. Belle and the others' crisis hasn't been resolved yet!"
"What should I do now? I must think of the next step immediately."
Mao You, who had just returned to the Video Store, was anxious again.
"Mao You, I understand you're anxious, but before we figure out how to rescue them, I think we should talk."
Zhe looked at Mao You seriously.
Upon hearing Zhe's words, Mao You became flustered.
Seeing this, Zhe continued to press, "Mao You, there is a very important matter. I hope you can explain it clearly."
"What kind of trouble did you and the Cunning Hares get into?!"
"Didn't the news say that was the main transport vehicle?"
"Why were people disguised as Public Security Bureau officers on that vehicle?!"
"Moreover, your reaction when facing the enemy back then was so fast that even Aya didn't react in time. It doesn't look like an action born out of shock!"
Ling also questioned in a demanding tone, "Come clean, Mao You. Were you planning to stab us in the back?"
Mao You, being questioned, stammered, unable to speak, not knowing how to begin for a moment.
"Mao You, if there's an untold story, you can tell us."
"Explain properly, and we won't make things difficult for you."
Hoshimi Aya looked at Mao You and said, she really couldn't recall exactly how this part of the plot went.
So she could only rely on Mao You to explain, but what was certain for now was that Mao You was a good person.
Mao You hurriedly explained, "The Cunning Hares and I did get into big trouble, but it was to save people!"
Ling frowned upon hearing this, "Mao You, you never mentioned this matter before!"
"Because it was too absurd, I didn't have the confidence to explain it clearly. I was busy intercepting the vehicle earlier and didn't finish watching Bangboo's visual recording."
"But Bangboo actually recorded everything. Once you watch it, you will all understand."
Mao You explained in a low tone, his ears drooping.
Ling and Zhe, hearing Mao You's explanation, thought for a moment and decided to continue watching the recording they hadn't finished.
In the recording, Mao You was leading Belle and the others towards the direction of the Dead End Butcher. However, they encountered a child midway.
Under the child's guidance, the group met the Dead End Butcher again, but then unexpectedly fell out of The Hollow and encountered a group of elderly people who had not evacuated.
Belle and the others' plan was then played out one by one.
"Mao You, we believe what you said now."
"However, as a professional Proxy, I have an obligation to remind you of the risks ahead!"
"If we want to save all the residents, we are bound to have an open conflict with Far View!"
Ling pondered.
Mao You looked serious upon hearing this, "You don't need to test me anymore. From the moment we set off, I had already made my decision!!"
"Right now, all I'm considering is saving everyone from the blast zone!"
Zhe and Ling nodded upon hearing this, and then the group began to discuss the plan. After confirming the plan, Hoshimi Aya proactively took Eous.
"Hmm, basically everything is clear now."
"Mao You, let's go."
Saying this, Hoshimi Aya handed Eous to Mao You to hold.
"Great! Then let's set off!"
After speaking, Mao You and Hoshimi Aya headed to the Dead End Hollow again. Following the route they planned, they arrived at the canvas area, which was where Belle and the others were located.
"You're finally here. It's been so long."
"I thought something happened to you guys."
Belle breathed a sigh of relief as she watched the group walk over.
Waiting for so long without any news was indeed making people anxious.
Seeing this, Ling repeated everything that had happened previously and the new plan to Belle and the others.
The train heading towards The Hollow for demolition was actually loaded with armed Public Security Officers. Their plan was to use the train to send all the residents here away.
"Elder, you heard our plan just now."
"Then next, we'll have to trouble you to gather everyone at the station."
Belle said to an old grandmother beside her.
"Don't worry, I'll go notify everyone immediately. I definitely won't hold you back."
The old grandmother prepared to leave after speaking.
But Belle called her back, "There seems to be an old base of the Red Fang Gang in a nearby Void. Have you heard of it?"
She hadn't forgotten that the purpose of coming here this time was to help Mao You find her family heirloom.
The old grandmother began to recount the origins of the Red Fang Gang and the betrayal of the White Guy.
Mao You also learned that the White Guy fell into The Hollow while being pursued by Public Security Officers, and was not killed by the Cunning Hares.
...This part is hard to write, so it might be a bit messy, and the protagonist's presence is weak.
So I plan to skip a bit and move past this segment of the plot.
