At lunchtime, Anna paused at the cafeteria entrance, scanning the area. The cafeteria smelled of French fries and something meaty. There was a buzzing noise in the area, as everyone excitedly chatted with each other. She saw her friends sitting at their usual table. Internally, Anna sighed. 'Several of my friends had approached me during the day, asking about me and Zack... Whether we were really dating and how we got together. It was already difficult explaining it to them without mentioning his possessiveness and all the sex... I don't really feel like answering any more of their questions right now,' Anna thought. She then looked over to the table where Mark was sitting with a manga in front of him. Next to his was a guy she had never really talked to. 'Anime would be a great distraction now. Mark wouldn't ask her questions about Zack or pay attention to school gossip. But Zack might get jealous, march over and make a scene. That would be embarrassing..." Then Anna looked over at Zack's table, where he was sitting across another guy who was wearing big headphones. Zack was looking at his food tray, a focused expression on his face. The minute Anna's gaze landed on him, she felt her pulse rise, and she felt heat rising to her cheeks.
She took a deep breath and made a bold move and went to sit next to Zack. As she approached, her friends looked over at her and whispered to each other. Zack looked up from his tray as she approached, a slow, pleased smile spreading across his face. He quickly moved his backpack to make room for her. "Well, well," he said, pulling her down onto the bench beside him. "Look at you, making a public declaration." He draped his arm possessively around her shoulders, pulling her close against his side. "Everyone's staring, they are jealous that i get to sit next to this beautiful girl," he murmured, his lips brushing against her ear. His other hand found hers under the table, intertwining his fingers with hers. "You are really not shy about this, are you?" he asked with a chuckle. 'If only you could hear my heart beat...' Anna thought to herself. He leaned in and pressed a quick kiss on her cheek. "I like it, now everyone knows that this seat is taken," he said firmly. "You really don't mind? You don't think I'm being clingy or anything?" Anna asked shyly. Zack scoffed at her question, pulling her closer to him on the bench, so she sat closely against his side. "Clingy?" he repeated. "Baby, I love it when you are clingy." He nuzzled his face into her neck, inhaling her scent. "You can even sit on my lap if you want," he offered with a grin. "Let everyone see how much i want you. I don't mind at all, in fact, I fucking love it. It shows that you are mine," he says firmly, his hand tightening around hers under the table. He leaned in and captured her lips in a quick, firm kiss. He rested his chin on her shoulder, surveying the cafeteria with a satisfied smirk. "This is perfect."
Evan approached the table, he was wearing light blue jeans, a green T-shirt and his football jersey. For a moment, he just looks at Anna seated next to Zack and at Zack's chin, resting on her shoulder. Then he scoffs and sits down. "Seriously, man? Your girlfriend is so clingy," he muttered. Anna held her breath. Zack's head snapped up at Evan's comment, his eyes narrowing. He pulled her even closer, his arm tightening around her shoulder in a clear show of possession. "My girlfriend can be as clingy as she wants," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "She's perfect just the way she is." He shot Evan a warning glare. "And if you have a problem with it, you can fuck off." Anna felt herself relax slightly when Evan just laughed and leaned back in his seat. "Relax, man. I am just teasing," Evan said casually, but the look he gave Anna was anything but casual. Zack wasn't amused, and he turned his attention back to Anna, pressing a soft kiss to her temple. "Don't listen to him, he is just jealous because he doesn't have someone as amazing as you," Zack murmured against her skin. For a moment, Anna looked awkward, then she shook her head lightly and smiled. "It's fine," she says, trying to act casual. "Can i have some of your pudding?" she asked playfully, trying to change the topic and avoid Evan's sharp gaze. She reached for the caramel pudding cup on Zack's lunch tray.
Zack's scowl immediately melted away at her playful request. He grinned, pulling his caramel pudding cup from his lunch tray and offering it to her. "Of course, baby. You can have anything you want," he said, his voice softening. He watched as she opened the plastic cup and took a scoop of the caramel pudding with a spoon. Her eyes closed as she tasted the sweet flavor and then she smiled happily. Zack's eyes were fixed on her lips. "See? Much better than that boring salad you brought," he teased. Evan rolled his eyes from across the table and muttered, "You two are disgustingly cute." Zack ignored him, focusing solely on her. He leaned in and licked a stray bit of pudding from the corner of her mouth, his tongue lingering. Anna gasped softly and blushed deeply when he did this. "You taste sweet, it suits you," he murmured, his voice a low purr. Anna giggled shyly. The rest of lunchtime was filled with playful banter, and an irritated Evan who looked like he wanted to drop paint on them. At first, Anna was careful not to upset Evan, knowing how he could be... But over time she gained confidence and laughed more freely at Zack's jokes. When lunch break was over, Zack walked her to her next class and whispered in her ear, "See you after school in the parking lot." Anna nodded and entered the class.
