Rorschach had long been listed as a priority target by the Hellfire Club.
Even while fighting other opponents, none of Shaw's subordinates dared to ignore him for even a moment. Every one of them kept a cautious eye on his movements.
So the instant Rorschach took action, the wind-controlling mutant reacted immediately.
There was no hesitation.
He abandoned his attack on Eric and leapt sideways, barely dodging Rorschach's heat vision.
Swish!
The two blazing beams tore across the air and slammed into the beach behind him, blasting two deep craters into the sand.
However, the wind mutant didn't simply retreat.
Just as Rorschach prepared to adjust his aim and fire again, the man suddenly waved his hand.
A powerful gust of wind exploded outward.
WHOOSH!
Sand from the beach was violently swept into the air, instantly forming a thick cloud of yellow dust that swallowed his entire body.
For a moment, the wind mutant disappeared completely.
It was a clever move.
After all, if your opponent couldn't see you, how could they aim a precise attack? No matter how powerful Rorschach's heat vision might be, it would be useless without a clear target.
Unfortunately for him, the Hellfire Club still didn't truly understand Rorschach's abilities.
In their eyes, the sandstorm would block his vision and prevent further attacks.
In Rorschach's eyes—
It was barely an inconvenience.
Through the swirling dust, his vision shifted.
His x-ray sight instantly pierced through the sand cloud and locked directly onto the wind mutant's exact location.
At the same time, Rorschach's super hearing focused on the man's heartbeat.
The thick curtain of sand that could blind ordinary people meant absolutely nothing to him.
TSSS!
Rorschach continued firing.
His heat vision swept through the air, adjusting its trajectory as he tracked the wind mutant's movements inside the storm of sand.
But then—
Rorschach suddenly smiled coldly.
Without warning, his right arm shot out to the side, grabbing seemingly empty air.
"Hnng!"
A muffled sound escaped from nowhere.
At the same time, the light in front of him distorted.
A figure slowly appeared in Rorschach's grip.
It was another mutant.
A man who had never shown himself during the battle.
His ability allowed him to turn completely invisible, and he had been hiding silently the entire time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
In his hand was a short blade.
This wasn't an ordinary knife.
It was forged from a special alloy capable of slicing through steel plates with ease.
A weapon specifically designed to kill Rorschach.
This invisible assassin had been Shaw's secret weapon.
His role was simple—wait until Rorschach became distracted during battle and deliver a fatal strike.
But Shaw had overlooked something.
Rorschach could hear everything.
From the very beginning, he had known that the Hellfire Club hadn't sent four mutants.
They had sent five.
The invisible assassin's heartbeat had given him away long ago.
Every step the man took while sneaking toward him had been tracked perfectly.
Rorschach had been watching the entire process like someone calmly observing a fire from a safe distance.
"How… how is this possible?!"
The assassin's face filled with disbelief.
"You actually found me!"
On a battlefield this chaotic, how had Rorschach detected him without a single mistake?
He had revealed no flaws.
CRACK!
The question would never be answered.
Rorschach tightened his grip.
With a simple twist, he snapped the assassin's neck.
The body went limp instantly.
Rorschach casually tossed the corpse aside like discarded trash.
Then he turned his head back toward the sandstorm.
SWISH!
Two more heat rays shot forward.
The beams pierced straight through the yellow cloud of dust and struck deep inside.
BANG!
A figure suddenly burst out from the sandstorm as if hit by lightning.
The wind mutant was hurled backward and crashed onto the ground, completely motionless.
At the same moment, the raging winds across the battlefield vanished.
The sandstorm dissipated quickly.
The fallen body of the wind mutant lay clearly visible on the beach.
Next to Rorschach's feet was the corpse of the invisible assassin.
The Hellfire Club members felt their hearts drop.
The battle had barely begun.
And two of their fighters were already dead.
Winston—the assassin specifically recruited by Shaw to eliminate the "Eastern man"—had been killed almost instantly.
Their intelligence had been wrong.
The young man from the East was far more terrifying than the reports had suggested.
"Nice work, Rorschach!"
Eric's voice rang out with excitement.
The other X-Men were equally thrilled.
Their morale skyrocketed.
For the Hellfire Club, however, the situation became suffocating.
The wind mutant was dead.
Their other fighters were already occupied by the X-Men.
Eric now had a completely clear path.
Without hesitation, he rushed forward, tore open a section of the submarine's hull with his magnetic power, and stepped inside.
Meanwhile, Rorschach began walking calmly toward the remaining Hellfire Club mutants.
Each step made their tension grow heavier.
"Hah!"
Seeing the situation turning against them, the pale bald mutant roared angrily.
He thrust both arms forward again.
BOOM! BOOM!
Two massive tidal blasts exploded from the sea behind him and surged toward Rorschach.
The waves towered like collapsing walls of water.
Unfortunately for him—
Rorschach's body was already far beyond human limits.
This level of attack wasn't even worth taking seriously.
BOOM!
Rorschach pushed off the ground with both feet.
His body shot forward like a cannonball.
He smashed directly into the incoming tidal wave.
SPLASH!
A massive spray of water erupted.
In the next instant, Rorschach burst through the other side of the wave without slowing down.
He landed directly in front of the bald mutant.
The man's expression changed instantly.
His attacks were powerful enough to flip cars and shatter concrete.
Yet this man had simply run through them.
Using nothing but his body.
Shaw's intelligence had been correct.
Rorschach's physical durability was truly monstrous.
Before the bald mutant could react—
BOOM!
A crushing impact struck his chest.
CRACK!
The sound of breaking bones echoed sharply.
"So fast…"
That was the final thought that flashed through the man's mind.
He hadn't even seen the punch.
All he noticed was a faint afterimage as Rorschach moved.
The next moment, his body was already flying through the air.
Darkness swallowed his vision.
He never even realized that he fell to the ground like a lifeless ragdoll.
Nearby, the dreadlocked mutant swallowed hard.
A cold wave of fear spread through him.
In just a few moments of battle, nearly all of his allies had been eliminated.
Only he remained.
And suddenly—
The "Eastern man" standing in front of him seemed far more terrifying than any legend.
