Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 – The Treasure of Asgard

When Odin addressed him as the Prophet, Ethan Blake was visibly stunned for a moment. There was no way he believed Odin couldn't see through his fabricated identity. The All-Father's wisdom and perception were legendary throughout the Nine Realms.

But since Odin was willing to acknowledge the title, Ethan certainly had no intention of refusing it.

Right now, he cared far more about whether the twenty units of overwrite energy he had spent reviving Frigga would pay off.

Odin's treasure vault contained countless priceless artifacts. If he chose carefully, there was no doubt he could recover far more value than he had spent.

As for the existence of a prophet on Earth, Odin understood the truth better than anyone.

Titles themselves were meaningless.

Strength was what truly mattered.

The Aesir were not gods by nature, yet they called themselves gods. Across the Nine Realms, almost no one questioned that claim.

Why?

Because they were powerful enough that those who dared to question them were beaten into silence.

Power defined reality.

And Ethan had just demonstrated two terrifying abilities: freezing time and reversing death itself. Either one alone was enough to make Odin treat him as a figure worthy of respect.

Who knew what other powers Ethan might possess?

Even if the title of "Prophet of Midgard" had never existed before, Ethan had more than enough strength to claim it now.

Seeing Odin openly accept the title left Frigga with little reason to question it further. Instead, she turned toward Ethan with a gentle expression.

"Thank you, Prophet of Midgard," she said warmly. "If there is anything I can help you with in the future, please don't hesitate to ask."

"You're too kind, Lady Frigga," Ethan replied politely.

At that moment, a loud crash echoed through the hall.

The cursed warrior who had jumped from the rooftop alongside Malekith earlier—but had not been captured by Ethan—charged into the chamber again.

The moment Odin saw him, fury flashed in his single eye.

This was the monster who had pierced Frigga's heart.

There was no way Odin would allow him to live.

Before the cursed warrior could even close the distance, Odin lifted Gungnir and pointed the spear forward.

A brilliant beam of golden light erupted from the spear.

The cursed warrior was struck instantly.

His body disintegrated into dust before he could even scream.

Ethan watched the scene silently.

Old Odin really was terrifying.

After eliminating the cursed warrior, Odin shifted his attention toward Malekith.

He frowned slightly, preparing to speak, but Thor suddenly interrupted him.

"Father, Malekith cannot die yet," Thor said quickly. "The Aether inside Jane hasn't been removed."

Odin looked at him calmly.

"Do you believe he will obey your commands?" Odin asked. "Remember this, Thor. Asgard never negotiates with its enemies."

Thor froze.

Of course Malekith would never cooperate willingly.

And now that Malekith knew Jane's life depended on him, he would absolutely use that leverage to demand whatever he wanted.

"But Jane—"

Thor didn't even finish the sentence before Odin cut him off again.

"It doesn't matter," Odin said flatly. "Malekith must die, and Asgard will not accept threats."

"You may handle the rest yourself."

"Frigga, come."

With that, Odin turned and left the hall.

Frigga could only give Thor a helpless look before following her husband.

Soon the chamber was left with only four people.

Ethan.

Thor.

Jane.

And Malekith.

"Thor," Jane said softly, "if you can't find a solution… just send me back to Earth."

"No!" Thor said immediately. "Jane, I will save you. Trust me. There must be another way."

At that moment Ethan spoke.

"Thor, I think I might be able to help."

Thor blinked in surprise.

"But Prophet… when we were on Earth, you said there was no solution."

Ethan smiled slightly.

"I can't directly remove the Aether from Jane's body," he explained. "But I do have a method that can make Malekith take it out himself."

Thor's eyes widened instantly.

"Really?"

"Then hurry!" Thor said excitedly. "Prophet, make him remove the Aether from Jane!"

Jane's eyes also filled with hope. If there was a chance to live, no one would choose death willingly.

"First," Ethan said calmly, "I need a container capable of holding the Aether. I can't just extract it and let it float around freely."

If the Reality Stone were already in its solid form, this would be simple.

But the Aether existed as a liquid-like substance.

He couldn't simply toss it into the golden storage space without preparation.

That thought gave Ethan a slight headache.

He had absolutely no idea how to convert the liquid Aether back into the solid Reality Stone.

Still, there was no point worrying about that now.

Getting the Aether first was the priority.

If necessary, he could always store it in the golden space and figure out the rest later—even if it meant letting the thing sit there collecting dust.

"Wait here, Prophet," Thor said.

He spun Mjolnir and launched himself into the sky.

After Thor left, the room fell quiet.

Jane looked at Ethan curiously.

"So… you're really a prophet from Earth?" she asked. "Why have I never heard of you before?"

"Because I prefer that people don't know I exist," Ethan said with a shrug.

Jane stared at him speechlessly.

The two chatted casually while waiting.

Soon Thor returned, flying back into the hall. In one hand he held Mjolnir, and in the other he carried a rectangular container.

Thor handed it to Ethan.

"I asked my mother," Thor said. "This container can hold the Aether. Prophet, please remove it quickly."

Ethan nodded.

He released the telekinetic restraints around Malekith's neck and said calmly,

"So, Malekith. Are you going to remove the Aether yourself, or do you want me to make you do it?"

"Unless you promise to let me go," Malekith replied coldly, "I will never remove the Aether from this woman."

He knew very well that Jane was his only bargaining chip.

"It seems negotiation isn't possible," Ethan said.

A wand appeared in his hand.

"Imperio!"

Malekith gritted his teeth and resisted the first spell.

But Ethan had never expected a single curse to be enough.

"Imperio!"

"Crucio!"

"Imperio!"

The relentless barrage of mind-control and torture curses slammed into Malekith one after another.

Only after dozens of spells did Malekith finally collapse under Ethan's control.

Fortunately Ethan's magical reserves were enormous. If someone with weaker magic attempted this, they would have run out of power long ago.

"Remove the Aether from her body," Ethan commanded.

"Yes."

Malekith walked obediently toward Jane.

Using the connection between himself and the Aether, he summoned the crimson substance from within Jane's body. Slowly, the liquid energy flowed out and gathered before him.

The moment the Aether fully emerged—

Ethan sealed it instantly with telekinesis and dropped it into the container Thor had provided.

Then he turned toward Thor.

"Thor, you don't mind if I keep this, do you?"

Thor paused for a moment before shrugging casually.

"Prophet, if you want it, take it."

Ethan smiled.

The Reality Stone was now in his hands.

Even if Odin personally came to demand it back, Ethan had plenty of reasons to refuse.

"Jane," Thor said happily, turning toward her, "now that you're safe, how about I show you around Asgard?"

With the threat inside her body gone, Thor's thoughts immediately shifted toward romance.

"Sure," Jane replied, clearly fascinated by the magnificent realm around her.

Ethan's face darkened.

"Thor," he said slowly, "did you forget something?"

Thor blinked.

"Forget something? What?"

"Your father asked you to take me to his treasury so I could choose a reward," Ethan said plainly.

Only then did Thor suddenly remember.

"Oh… right."

He scratched his head awkwardly.

"Prophet, I'll take you there now."
