The exam season arrived quickly. The school became quieter then usual. Students spent more time in the library and classrooms. Everyone was busy studying.
I sat my desk with my books open. But it was difficult to focus. My mind kept thinking about other things.
"Are you really studying", Purmodo asked.
He was sitting in front of me.
"I am trying", I said.
Purmodo smiled.
"Trying isn't enough during exam season."
Aarihito looked up from his book.
"He is right", he said calmly.
"Exams are important."
After school, many students stayed in the library. Ritou and I were there too.
She was reading her notes carefully. I looked at her for a moment. She looked very focused.
"You should study," she said without looking at me.
I quickly looked at my book.
"I'm studying", I replied.
Ritou smiled a little.
Time passed quietly. Sometimes we helped each other with hard questions. Sometimes we just studied silently.
Even though it was stressful, it felt good to study to gether.
Days passed like this. Soon the exam week came.
Each day felt long and tired. But slowly, the exams started to finish.
Finally, the last exam ended. Students walked out of the classroom feeling relaxed.
Purmodo stretched his arms.
"I feel free now", he said.
Aarihito laughed.
"Let's hope our results are good."
Ritou looked at me and smiled.
"You did your best," she said.
I nodded.
No matter what happens, one thing is certain.
