Chapter 49 The Valley of Evil
Following the guidance of the Primordial Dao Seal, Feng Zichen wandered through Buzhou Mountain for several years, finally arriving at a place shrouded in mist. Upon
arrival, before Feng Zichen could act, the Primordial Dao Seal automatically appeared before him, radiating rays of purple divine light that descended upon the misty area.
As if encountering a natural enemy, the mist melted away like ice and snow under the purple light, vanishing without a trace, revealing a valley permeated with malevolent energy.
Within the valley, jagged rocks and overgrown weeds presented a desolate scene. Wisps of innate malevolent energy rose from the ground, drifting within the valley.
Gazing at the somewhat desolate valley ahead, Feng Zichen was filled with doubt. He stopped in his tracks, hesitant to proceed.
This was Buzhou Mountain, formed from the spine of Pangu, the most sacred place in the primordial world. How could malevolent energy be emanating from here? And it was even the innate malevolent energy carried by the Chaos Demon God?
After pondering for a moment, Feng Zichen couldn't find an answer and decided to explore the valley. He raised his merit-based spiritual light, and with the Primordial Dao Seal protecting him,
stepped into the valley. As if sensing an unfamiliar aura, the innate malevolent energy permeating the valley immediately stirred and surged towards him as soon as he entered.
"Buzz!"
With a slight tremor, the Primordial Dao Seal lowered a hazy purple light, enveloping Feng Zichen.
This was the Primordial Dao Light, the light of origin, the light of the Great Dao. It could create all laws, and it could also destroy all laws.
Before the innate malevolent energy could even touch Feng Zichen, it was blocked by the Primordial Dao Light. During their entanglement, a hissing sound rang out as the innate malevolent energy was annihilated by the Primordial Dao Light.
As Feng Zichen continued to penetrate deeper, the innate malevolent energy in the valley continued to attack him, gathering more and more, seemingly endless.
Under these circumstances, even with the Primordial Dao Light protecting him, Feng Zichen still found it difficult to move forward. Like a small boat on a vast ocean, constantly in danger of capsizing, overturned by giant waves, and sinking into the sea ,
Feng Zichen felt a chill run down his spine as he watched the Primordial Dao Light tremble under the attack of the innate evil energy. He immediately took a few steps back, intending to leave the place first and return to investigate later when he could devise a foolproof plan.
However, just as Feng Zichen retreated, a stone beneath his feet suddenly exploded, transforming into a dense stream of innate evil energy that attacked him from the ground.
Then, the explosion of the stone seemed to trigger a chain reaction. The rubble and weeds in the valley burst open one by one, transforming into dense streams of innate evil energy that attacked Feng Zichen from all directions.
It turned out that these rubbles and weeds, having been tainted by the innate evil energy day and night, had long since merged with it. Today, stimulated by external forces, they erupted one by one, creating the situation Feng Zichen was currently facing.
"Come again!"
The Primordial Dao Light flashed, shattering the innate evil energy from the ground. However, before Feng Zichen could even breathe a sigh of relief, countless streams of innate malevolent energy attacked him from all directions, causing him to inwardly groan.
At this moment, the Hongmeng Dao Seal seemed to be enraged by the innate malevolent energy, erupting with unprecedented light.
Hongmeng Qi surged forth, giving rise to countless Dao runes, covering the entire valley and creating a scene reminiscent of the time before the creation of heaven and earth and the separation of chaos.
Under the shroud of Hongmeng Qi, the previously arrogant innate malevolent energy was now utterly powerless. In just a moment, it was devoured and assimilated by Hongmeng Qi.
After the innate malevolent energy was completely devoured, the Hongmeng Dao Seal spun around, and the Hongmeng Qi covering the entire valley began to shrink. In the blink of an eye, it shrank into a ball and returned to the Hongmeng Dao Seal.
As the innate malevolent energy vanished, the true face of the valley was finally revealed.
Empty, utterly empty!
The rubble, the weeds, all disappeared without a trace, and even the innate energy was gone. Only the pitch-black mountainside remained exposed.
This valley had been completely corrupted by innate malevolent energy. Its blackness was identical to the color of the innate malevolent energy. New innate malevolent energy was even sprouting atop the mountain.
Reaching out to touch the ground, Feng Zichen felt a wisp of innate malevolent energy rise from the ground, rushing along his index finger into his sea of consciousness, attempting to destroy his reason.
He quickly withdrew his finger, mobilizing the Primordial Qi within his body to refine the innate malevolent energy that had surged into his form.
"Good heavens! This innate malevolent energy is incredibly powerful; it can even erode Mount Buzhou..."
That last attack confirmed to Feng Zichen that Mount Buzhou had been completely transformed into malevolent stone, becoming a vessel for the innate malevolent energy.
Mount Buzhou, formed from the spine of Pangu, even though it is not as powerful as before, still possesses the divine might of the Great Dao, which cannot be destroyed by a Golden Immortal. Only a Taiyi Golden Immortal can leave a mark on Mount Buzhou.
Even a Daluo Golden Immortal would have to expend considerable effort to destroy a mountain as large as this valley. The fact
that this innate malevolent energy could erode it to this extent demonstrates its power.
Just as Feng Zichen was marveling at this, the Primordial Dao Seal paused, glowed slightly, urging him to hurry deeper into the valley.
"What treasure lies deep within Buzhou Mountain that so captivates the Hongmeng Dao Seal?"
Since setting foot on Buzhou Mountain, the Hongmeng Dao Seal has been unusually active, constantly urging him to venture deeper into the mountain. This urgent behavior is completely different from its previous aloof demeanor, leaving Feng Zichen with no choice but to be curious.
Immediately, Feng Zichen released his suppression of the Hongmeng Dao Seal, allowing it to fly deeper into the valley, while he himself set off to follow.
He wanted to see what kind of treasure could have aroused such urgency in the Hongmeng Dao Seal.
The valley was larger than Feng Zichen had anticipated. He had thought that after traveling so far while enduring the innate malevolent energy, he was already close to the depths of the valley. Unexpectedly, he had only been circling the outer edge.
Several days later, Feng Zichen finally arrived at the deepest part of the valley—a cliff face.
Below the cliff, a deep cave entrance was revealed, from which dense streams of innate malevolent energy surged forth.
Huge cracks extended from the cave entrance in all directions, covering most of the valley. Wisps of innate malevolent energy rose from within.
This was the deepest part of the valley, the source of the innate malevolent energy within.
Gazing at the almost liquefied innate malevolent energy, Feng Zichen hesitated for a moment at the cave entrance. Finally, urged on by the constant urging of the Hongmeng Dao Seal, he gritted his teeth and rushed in.
The Hongmeng Dao Seal was his natal magic weapon; its fate was intertwined with his own, and it would never harm him. Since it dared to let him in, it could guarantee his safety. Sure enough, the Hongmeng Dao Seal rippled with a water-like light, transforming Feng Zichen into nothingness, allowing him to pass through the innate malevolent energy. He flew deeper into the cave.
One year, two years, three years, ten years…
The length of the cave exceeded Feng Zichen's imagination. It wasn't until more than a hundred years later that he saw a ray of brilliant light.
The moment he saw this light, the thirteen Heaven-Opening Axe lights deep within Feng Zichen's memory trembled violently. It seemed as if they were about to step out of the past and into the present.
