Chapter 10 - The Labyrinth Awakens

Morning arrived slowly over Alfea College for Fairies.

Sunlight poured through the tall windows of the main hall as students gathered for breakfast. The academy was lively again after the quiet of the previous night.

But at one table, the atmosphere felt different.

The Winx sat together as usual — Bloom, Stella, Flora, Tecna, and Musa.

And sitting at the end of the table was the quiet boy from another world.

Most students had already gotten used to seeing him around the school. Still, a few curious glances continued to drift in his direction.

Stella rested her chin on her hand.

"I still can't believe you were ten."

He didn't respond.

Musa chuckled.

"Stella, you've said that like five times already."

"Well it's weird!"

Flora gave a soft laugh.

"Leave him alone."

Bloom, however, was watching him more carefully.

Something about him had felt different since last night's conversation.

Not outwardly.

But there was a quiet tension in the way he sat.

Like he was listening to something no one else could hear.

Then suddenly—

He stood up.

The movement was abrupt enough that it made everyone look at him.

Bloom blinked.

"What's wrong?"

He didn't answer immediately.

Instead his eyes were fixed on something beyond the walls of the academy.

"…Something woke up."

Tecna tilted her head.

"What do you mean?"

He slowly turned toward the large windows overlooking the forest beyond Magix.

"…A barrier."

The girls exchanged confused looks.

Stella raised an eyebrow.

"You can sense barriers now?"

"…Not normally."

He hesitated.

"But this one is different."

Bloom stood up as well and walked closer to the window.

"What kind of barrier?"

He spoke quietly.

"…Ancient."

"…And it's breaking."

Far away beneath the forests surrounding Magix…

A massive stone door trembled.

Dust fell from the ancient carvings etched into its surface.

A deep rumble echoed through the underground corridors.

The labyrinth had awakened.

For centuries it had remained sealed.

Protecting the sword hidden deep within its core.

Durendal.

The sword that could grant three miracles.

And now…

Its entrance was opening.

Elsewhere in the forest…

Three figures stood at the edge of the ruins.

The witches of the Trix.

Icy smirked as a cold wind swept through the clearing.

"So it's finally opening."

Beside her, Darcy studied the ancient stone structures.

"The legends were true."

"And the sword is inside."

Stormy cracked her knuckles excitedly.

"Then what are we waiting for?"

Icy's smile sharpened.

"Let's claim our wish."

Without another word, the three witches stepped toward the ancient entrance.

The ground trembled as the labyrinth welcomed its first challengers.

High above the forest, watching from the shadow of a ruined tower…

Another figure observed the opening.

A woman with long dark hair moved silently along the stone edge.

Her gaze fixed on the entrance below.

Lust.

A faint smile formed on her lips.

"So it finally reveals itself."

Her fingers traced a glowing magical circle in the air.

The power of the Caster Class Card pulsed quietly around her.

"Perfect timing."

Her eyes turned toward the distant academy of Alfea.

"Let's see what you do next."

Back at Alfea…

The boy stepped away from the window.

Bloom looked concerned.

"What is it?"

"…A labyrinth."

Tecna's eyes widened.

"An underground structure?"

"…Yes."

Stella crossed her arms.

"And why does that sound like trouble?"

He answered calmly.

"Because something valuable is inside."

Bloom already knew the answer.

"…Durendal."

He nodded once.

"The barrier protecting it just opened."

Flora frowned.

"That sounds dangerous."

"It will be."

Musa leaned forward.

"So people are going to try to take it."

"…Yes."

Stella groaned.

"Great."

"Another magical disaster."

Bloom looked toward the forest beyond Magix.

"Then we can't ignore it."

She turned back toward the others.

"If that sword really grants wishes, the wrong people getting it could be terrible."

Everyone knew who she meant.

The Trix.

The quiet boy stepped toward the door.

Bloom looked at him.

"You're going there."

"…Yes."

Flora looked worried.

"You shouldn't go alone."

For a moment he didn't respond.

Then Bloom smiled slightly.

"Good thing you won't have to."

Stella jumped up immediately.

"Field trip!"

Tecna adjusted her glasses.

"A magical labyrinth filled with unknown traps and ancient constructs."

"Statistically dangerous."

Musa grinned.

"Sounds fun."

The quiet boy looked at them for a moment.

For the first time since arriving in this world…

He wasn't walking toward danger alone.

Far beneath the forest…

The labyrinth corridors stretched endlessly into darkness.

Ancient mechanisms began to move for the first time in centuries.

And deep within its core…

The legendary sword waited.

Durendal.

The race for the miracle had begun.
