Chapter 11: The World Beyond – Truths of Milafiva
"Karn… wake up… baby, wake up."
A soft but controlled pressure wrapped around his body.
Karn groaned and turned to his side. "Mm… five more minutes…"
"No," Zangika replied instantly. "We have already wasted enough time."
A faint mechanical hum followed as the Shadow Nexus partially materialized around him, forming a cocoon-like structure. It adjusted itself automatically to his posture, supporting his back, neck, and legs.
Karn slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times before focusing.
"…not gonna lie," he muttered, stretching slightly, "if I didn't have Shadow Nexus, my whole body would feel like it got run over."
Zangika's tone carried a hint of pride. "That was my design. Adaptive pressure distribution and recovery support."
Karn smirked faintly. "So now you're a sleeping bag?"
"Correction," she replied smugly, "I am your sleeping bag you lied on me all knight touch8me paces."
"…that somehow sounds worse."
He sat up and looked around.
The abandoned house was still the same—broken roof, cracked walls, dust floating in sunlight.
"Alright," Karn said, taking a breath, "let's move."
They stepped outside.
And Karn froze.
"…what the hell…"
The village stretched before him like something straight out of another era.
Stone houses. Wooden frames. Narrow pathways.
A blacksmith hammered glowing metal, sparks flying with every strike. The rhythmic clang echoed through the street.
People walked around in tunics, cloaks, leather boots.
A horse-drawn carriage rolled past slowly.
The air felt… alive.
"Zangika," Karn said quietly, "this is real, right?"
"Yes," she replied. "
Karn exhaled slowly.
"…yeah. I figured."
His eyes shifted toward a blacksmith stall.
Armor pieces hung on display—polished, engraved, some faintly glowing.
"Damn… that looks insane."
"That glow," Zangika said, "is mana infusion. Good but not compared to our systems, but effective."
Before Karn could reply—
"Sir! Kind noble sir!"
He turned.
A young boy stood behind a fruit stall, holding something out nervously.
"Would you like to taste some fruit?"
"Shh!" another vendor hissed immediately. "Are you crazy? Don't talk to nobles like that!"
Karn blinked.
"…nobles?"
Zangika whispered in his ear, amused. "Your appearance and posture. You look important."
Karn sighed internally and walked closer.
"Don't worry," he said calmly. "It's fine."
He adjusted his tone slightly, more composed.
"I would like to try some, but I don't have money right now."
The boy froze.
"…I see…"
The surrounding vendors stared in disbelief.
"He just told a noble he's broke—"
But the boy still extended the fruit.
"…here. Take it."
Karn paused, then took it.
"Thank you."
He placed his hand gently on the boy's head.
"I bless you—with good fortune and prosperity."
Zangika nearly laughed. "Oh my… look at you."
"God bless you," Karn added.
The boy's eyes lit up. "Thank you, sir!"
Another vendor stepped forward nervously.
"Kind sir… blessings… those are given by priests… are you—"
Karn hesitated.
Zangika whispered, "Your choice."
Karn nodded slightly. "I come from a priest family."
The reaction changed instantly.
Respect. Relief.
"I see…" the vendor said, bowing slightly.
Karn nodded and walked away.
"Adaptation level increasing," Zangika commented.
"gasligting," Karn replied.
After walking a bit, he stopped a passerby.
"Where can I find knowledge about this place?"
"Library or Adventurer's Guild," the man replied.
"Guild is risky," Karn muttered.
"Agreed," Zangika said. "Library."
The building stood quietly at the edge of the town.
A guard stopped him.
"State your affiliation and purpose."
"I seek knowledge."
"Identification?"
For a split second, Zangika intervened.
A forged identification appeared in Karn's hand.
The guard inspected it and stepped aside.
"You may enter."
Inside, it was quiet.
Shelves filled with books. Dust in the air.
"Scanning," Zangika said.
Within seconds, multiple books subtly vanished into void storage.
"Still feels weird when you do that," Karn muttered.
"Focus," she replied.
"Listen carefully. This world is called Milafiva."
Karn leaned against a shelf. "Alright."
"Multiple races exist: humans, elves, beastfolk, dragons, demons, devils, angels, and fairies."
Karn stared.
"…great."
"Additionally, this continent has experienced multiple large-scale wars."
"Let me guess—everyone fighting everyone."
"Mostly humans versus demons and devils."
"And magic?"
"The energy I mentioned is called mana."
Karn nodded slowly.
"So magic is real."
"Yes."
She continued, "Two main systems exist. Star system for mages, circle system for knights. Both use mana from the environment."
"sounds cool," Karn muttered.
"Originally, magic was granted to dragons and angels. They fought. Then spread magic to other races."
"Bad idea."
"Very. Humans and beast folk others adapted quickly.one demon learnt it in secret ny peeping on dragons teaching session Demons evolved into devils. War escalated."
"And then?"
"god intervened."
Karn exhaled. "Of course."
"After that, elves and fairies were created. Elves protect nature. Fairies protect souls."
She listed the leaders.
"Humans: Ragink. Beastfolk: Lyphon. Devils: Arthor. Dragons: Flero. Angels: Aria."
Karn paused.
"…Aria again."
"Coincidence," Zangika said.
"Hopefully."
"We are currently in the human nation Camelot. Eight regions. Thirty villages per region."
"And this one?"
"Hun Village."
"Small start," Karn said.
"Ruler: Duke Handrick IV."
Karn leaned back slightly.
"…this world is huge."
"Yes."
"…dangerous."
"Yes."
"…and we're broke."
"…also yes."
Karn sighed. "So what now?"
"We leave," Zangika replied.
"Just like that?"
"Your anonymity is your greatest advantage."
Karn nodded. "Fair."
"What about money?"
"I will handle it."
Small metallic fragments appeared and reshaped into coins.
"Currency replication," she said.
"…illegal?"
"Efficient."
"…I'll allow it."
By evening, Karn had gathered basic supplies.
Food. Water. Medicine.
A carriage was leaving toward another city.
He boarded quietly.
The road stretched ahead.
"…new world," Karn muttered.
"Yes," Zangika replied softly.
"And this time," she added, "we are not weak."
Karn smirked faintly.
"Good."
The carriage moved forward as the sun dipped below the horizon.
A new journey had begun.
